A warlock giving an opinion on mage is automatically invalid
What? I understand everyone is so excited about fury right now for some reason. Letâs not get ahead of ourselves here though. Fury ainât deleting nobody is 2 seconds. Also, for the topic at hand. Mage mobility is nuts. I think itâs more nuts now than it has been in the past because it feels like frost mage has more than 2x root + the extra displacements.
I am beginning to (in my games) kill whatever the other caster is and leaving the mage alone. Sounds nuts I know, but it works for me. Quickly try to kill the other teamate then LOS the mage and let second wind heal up for a reset. Then go back in and kill the mage with heroic throws and wrecking throws. Done this multiple times. Doesnât work everytime, but working a good portion of the time so far.
mage has been notoriously better than warlock in every single metric of every single variation of world of warcraft since the dawn of mage. its easier to play, easier to do damage, more cc, more damage, and its the only class that can exclusively play with just about anything and be met with insane success not to mention theyre immortal to the point where you just ignore them and tank the infinite damage they do because you have a higher chance of killing the partner dps.
I agree , not really arguing about a mageâs kit being naturally anti melee.
I just believe mages do need another minor damage nerf and an icd on rng roots but not to the point where they become weak.
There has to be specs that counter melee, and i know melee mains will cry about it the very same way a warlock cries about melee. However the reality is warlocks rely on proper play and their team to try and beat their counters, the very same logic should apply to melee when facing specs ( itâs basically just mage at this point) that truly gives them a hard time.
The game is so unbelievably skewed in meleeâs favor that when even a single spec pops up to challenge their dominance everyone loses their minds and slurs start flying.
Us mere mortals ( non-mage casters) have to deal with so much crap and jump through many hoops to reach the base level that nearly every melee class starts on, i know you understand what i mean as a boomy main urself.
Edit: the game should be rock, paper, scissors, not rock> all and the biggest rock wins , with some scissor second class citizens as support.
This is the Arena Forums.
Oh, sorry ig.
This is true.
This is not. It only seems that way pre-1800, because the barrier for entry on melee is âdo you have a keyboardâ.
Thats been mentioned
Everyone can do this up to a certain mmr
someone needs a forum break lul.
Is there a reason you go out your way to harass me in multiple threads?
Not true at all.
learning mage has been so cathartic for me, flawless victorying warriors 1v1 after over a decade of being bound to the inescapable priest wheelchair
Im so tired of pretending this excuse is valid, could speak from personal experience 1.5k rating above that number you gave but thatâs not gonna change opinions here anyway.
I played to only 2200 in dfs4 and saw half as many melee as i did at 1600. 5/6 matches at 1600 was double melee. Less than half were at 2200. I played as spriest too which is crazy awful playing into double melee. Not to mention in duelist teammates started creating gaps for me so it was less of an issue. Ive never heard any experienced glad level player say melee are dominant at their level. So i guess its a 3k+ issue youre talking about.
Things like this are why I think Blizzard is balancing around RBGB going forward, not 3v3
No? Itâs PvE design bleeding over and not being properly compensated for and/or them just going into the whole âClearly defined strengths and weaknessesâ thing where theyâre immune to melee but get crushed by sustained/reliable damage, purges, etc.
If they canât find a reasonable knob for mobility then theyâll probably just further decrease their durability so mm goes back to killing them in one rapid fire.
Ok true that too.
So you have 3.3k xp but choose to hide on a level 11 to post? Interesting.
Iâve never wanted to see somebody lose their freedom of speech more than you
