How do you defeat depression

The way I deal with it is to keep myself occupied mentally.
For me, I tend to overthink everything if my mind sits idle too long and I fall into depression.

Working out helps, getting enough sleep also helps alot.
And oddly enough, WoW helps.

i dont buy that ‘chemical imbalance’ nonsense.

No, I just think you are an angry person who probably drinks by himself on the weekends. Thank god people like you aren’t in my circle.

You see OP, you can’t. Do stuff to distract yourself. That’s the best you can hope for. Some days it works perfect and that’s a good day. Some days you can’t, and you remember that you hate everyone, your life, everything, this game, and wish it would all end. Those are the days you need to distract yourself the most. If you can get past those days, you can “manage” depression. But you’re never gonna beat it.

i dont drink or do anything like that, i cant stand ppl who do drink either.

i didnt say anything in anger or any negaive emotion.

i offered perspective on how to fix a persons’s potential problems, if it doesnt apply to you then idk what to tell you

If you’re depressed tonight you should come to some ball on Moon guard @ 9 p.m central.

There is even like a dating event if you do not have anyone to go with.

Things like that can help to not be alone, eh?

I drink nightly! cheers

Sorry you don’t like meh.

Oh, 4 posts now.

It is very ignorant to say depression doesn’t exist.

It can be. Dopaminergic levels can be out of wack, and that’s the main motivation chemical we have. It’s not really about buying it. It’s hard science at this point.

I can’t go over two STRONK ones or I get angry D:

Less than that is happy fun times. I have learned.

Yeah, we should all strive to be like this guy, angry and judgmental.

i disagree with the conclusions offered.

There is no one size fits all approach.

Lifestyle changes will help, daily exercise, healthy diet, regular sleep.

If that doesn’t begin to help then next step is therapy and medication to manage the symptoms and identify the things that are bothering you.

Alternatively you could have another condition all together, Brain Tumor, ADHD.

My only suggestion is that if medication doesn’t help at all then look for another diagnosis.

No one should suffer from this and so many are going through it alone. Makes me sad.

There’s a fine line between speaking with people that can relate and speaking to people that wallow in their illness.

Yes the coloring books are amazing! I have one with cats on every page that looks like normal pictures of cats doing things but they are also farting.

It was a combination of many different lifestyle changes for me which greatly improved my mental health.

Things that worked for me:

  • Eating clean, drinking tons of water and exercising (started a habit of walking 1 hour and 30 minutes in the morning everyday to get vitamin D and medidate)
  • Getting 8 hours of sleep everyday
  • Cutting off social media drastically - like 2 hours max a day
  • Playing games to relax without feeling guilty, getting immersed and leaving trade chat, stop interacting with toxic people, they will make it seem like there’s no hope for human race when in reality they represent a very small % of the population
  • Quitting p*rn and weed
  • Stopped watching/reading so much news
  • Repeating positive things over and over in my head and being more aware of what I allow my mind to focus on

After doing all of that I realized how much I have to be thankful for and how I’m the only one who can control how happy I am. I have 0 depression nowadays/

Hope this helps, good luck!

From personal experience… you don’t

You just learn to live with it and if necessary get medications to help which I was originally on but dropped due to the side effect of well a lot of weight gain
