Its not 100k, but i did make about 15k early wotlkc selling spices.
I preped 4 cooks to do the dailies and was selling 50+ spices a day on average. First week or so spices were around 10g+ on my server and then slowly went down. I also made around 5k selling titansteel bars/CDs early on as well. If i went really hard at trying to control the market and farm instead of focusing on reputation and gearing i could likely have made 100k the first few weeks, but i had other priorities, cooking daily was quick and easy and i naturally got the mats for the titansteel just from leveling.
Every expansion is a good chance to get a large amount of gold by just selling the new mats, especially if it is a limited supply at the start. Sell early when its high, then buy cheap and catch back up.

I was just warning the guy who seemed to be getting offended about what he was dealing with. Most on this forum already seem to know which is good.
There’s nothing odd with people having so much gold - if they’re active enough. However if all they do is raid log and they have all that gold, something stinks.
Kind of ironic that the guy who got caught red-handed lying about hopping on sock poppets to agree with himself is calling other people liars.
Naw, see… The thing is, once you’ve been caught in something like this… just no one will ever believe you again. That’s the problem with lying, it makes you completely uncredible…

It’s not impossible to have tons of gold legitimately. I could make about 1200g an hour spamming alchemy in the first raid tier if I spent all day making potions and selling them constantly. It just takes time and effort. That said, most people (myself included) hit a comfortable amount of gold and just stop bothering.

The only reason people would agree to pay 15k on an item that costs 8500 to craft is because they… Well, they bought their gold. Otherwise that laziness would cost them way more effort down the line.
