I think Nyaria is right, of course not everyone is loving Sylvanas because she’s hot. They are loving her for… some reason. Some think she’s a rolemodel (But probably should go see a shrink if you think that), or that she’s bad-word Blizzard will not let you post (Which okay, I do admit yes is true).
But you can’t deny a lot of the reason the Horde cling onto this is because they think Sylvanas is hot and they want to defend her. People will defend pretty, attractive people, especially women more then anyone else. Again, not all Hordes think like this, but those who do, are probably more vocal.
Because it really doesn’t make sense how you defend a corpse for destroying Teldrassil and killing lots of lives, and carrying on about the way she has. Garrosh didn’t get that many defenders. Even Jaina doesn’t probably because they see Sylvanas hotter (Which, she is).
With Sylvanas, people just say it’s war get over it.
Anyone else does this, they would be purged (There’s a Horde that made a thread about Jaina’s wrongdoings right now, all through Legion it was Jaina’s a Dreadlord. All because she tried to drown orgrimmar, despite she didn’t actually do it compared to Sylvanas).
And now with Troll City. Like the beginning of the Alliance’s story is literally saying we can’t let the Zandari become allied with the Horde or they will be more powerful. And yet now the Alliance ransacking the city and killing their King is apparently bad and immoral. But this is just war. The Zandari did team up with the Horde, they knew by now what happened, and still let them in the city.
It’s was mostly a post full of substance, with a sprinkling of jabbing at people on the end.
I’m not really sure you can even call it full on trolling, it’s more of a passive-aggressive comment towards people who refuse to see reason.
Edit: or use horrible reasoning to dismiss legit complaints and dismissing criticism of someone they hold in such a high regard there really is no other way to describe it besides fanboyism.
If being passive aggressive is now considered trolling, then people need to chill. Because being passive-aggressive isn’t trolling.
People get irritated by others being passive aggressive, the act is not mutually exclusive.
Honestly the part that seems to frustrate people the most is when the pro-sylvanas people aren’t taken seriously. Which is why I don’t take them seriously, because i honestly can’t take anyone defending anything Sylvanas does seriously.
And my point wasn’t wasted.
It’s not like I blared the trumpets to start teh post with the passive aggressive comment. I left it at the end, when all my other points were addressed.
If I had opened with it, you might have a point. Because then people would dismiss me and not read the rest of the points.
But It was at the end, so all my points were already established.
I’m going to try to give a quick rundown on Jaina. Pardon if I leave out minute details.
-Highly skilled mage that becomes Antonidas’s personal apprentice
-Had close relationships with Kael’thas and Arthas, both falling to corruption
-Lost her master to the Scourge and Arthas.
-Founded Theramore in Kalimdor with the survivors of the Scourge from Lordaeron
-Developed a close partnership with Thrall who shared her ideals of peaceful coexistence after defeating the Legion in Kalimdor.
-Chose to protect Theramore and its people in exchange for her father’s life, who would not stand down in the conflict.
-Continued to remain a neutral party in faction skirmishes between the Horde and Alliance, frequently working with Thrall behind the scenes to stamp out fires.
-Interfered in the fight between Thrall and Varian at the Battle of Undercity, removing Varian and his forces from the throne room before they could engage with Thrall and his forces. Continued to preach co-existence with the Horde to Varian and was proud of his mercy to Saurfang in Ice Crown Citadel
-Came to terms with Arthas being lost to corruption.
-Tries to maintain neutrality in growing conflict between Horde and Alliance. Thrall is no longer Warchief and unable to assist her efforts. Gives in to Varian and allows troop movements through Theramore, but does not contribute her own forces.
-Jaina takes on an apprentice for the first time.
-Jaina develops a close bond with Kalecgos.
-Theramore is targeted by Garrosh and is put under siege.
-Jaina beseeches aid from Baine and is turned down.
-Theramore is destroyed with a manabomb.
-Ronin sacrifices himself to save Jaina by teleporting her out of Theramore. Everyone remaining in Theramore are killed/captured. Jaina’s apprentice is dead.
-Jaina discovers the plot to create the mana bomb and traces it back to the Sunreavers. She takes the focusing iris and goes the outskirts of Orgrimmar.
-Jaina is talked down by Kalecgos and Thrall from destroying Orgrimmar. She returns the focusing Iris to the Kirin Tor and takes her position as leader per Ronin’s instructions. Kalecgos joins the Kirin Tor. Jaina declares that Dalaran will no longer remain neutral.
-Jaina, at the encouragement of Anduin, continues to preach co-existence during the events of MoP
-The events of the Divine Bell, once again traced back to the Sunreavers, and Anduin’s subsequent near death encounter with Garrosh push Jaina to expel the Horde from Dalaran and officially rejoin the Alliance.
-Regarding the events of the “Purging of Dalaran,” Jaina’s ultimatum is go quietly or fight. Resistance is met with violence. Those that give up are imprisoned.
-Jaina absorbs the remaining power of Lei Shen into her staff(Not sure this is ever really brought up again and may be a forgotten thing)
-Jaina feels the Horde cannot exist as it is. Garrosh is deposed, but Varian accepts a new Warchief rather than dissolving the faction. Vol’jin is the new Warchief.
-Jaina opposes working with the Horde in AU Draenor and comes into professional conflict with Khadgar
-After the events of WoD, Varian forms an expeditionary force to battle Gul’dan as he attempts to re-open the Tomb of Sargeras. The fight goes poorly and Varian is killed. Alliance leaders feel the Horde abandoned them during the fight. Khadgar preaches continued unified fighting with the Horde, but Jaina refuses.
-Jaina is dismissed as leader of the Kirin Tor and she vacates her seat on the Council.
-Jaina is absent during Legion proper, but is fighting the Legion on her own terms in the background.
-Jaina returns in BfA to help lead the fight against the Horde.
We all basically got it from there yeah? So if you want to know why, she seems to have some pretty good reasons to act the way she does. Jaina’s story line is plagued with tragedy both of her own making and out of her control. There’s no need to defend her. She’s her own character and one of the few fully developed ones left standing.
I love that “come quietly or die” an outsider rounds you up from your home is actually considered justification. Also since her forces blocked them from even running away especially since she started by murdering some random guards.
As mentioned in the run down, the Sunreavers are responsible for both the Manabomb in Theramore and using the Divining Bell in Darnassus. So they’re not innocent. Not by a longshot.
With the current datamining of the Sunreaver encounter in Baines holding cell, it sounds more like guilty by association. The Sunreaver in the encounter says that his comrades were innocent while others were following orders.
Gul’dan thought he was tough, too. Prime Gul’dan got exemecuted and AU Gul’dan realised that he might be tough…but 10-25 of Azeroth’s Heroes are sufficiently tough and resilient enough to take down threats about as strong as his boss (who is comparable to Azshara)…so he didn’t stand a chance on his own.
