How do I go about inviting my xfaction alts to my guild?

Since I can’t invite them via guild finder, how do I do it?

There was a thread on this earlier with a solution.

Edit: I wanted to add, I’m not sure if it’s still working, but once you invite a xfaction member, if you make that xfaction member an officer, they should be able to post the guild in the guild finder on the other faction.

Ugh. Gross. That’s way more complicated than it should be. The entire point of cross faction for me was to be able to invite my alts to my own guild. Now I gotta jump through all these hoops. Arrrrrrrrrg!

Thanks though.

Yeah, it’s going to be frustrating at first, but if the officer guild finder thing works, it should be a bit easier than having to add all the alts to the community.

Invite a single one, give that character invite privilege, have that character invite the others. It’s a pain I agree, but there are still factions. Until those are definitely removed, there are gonna be hurdles.

That’s a lot of work… I don’t think it’s worth it for me.

How would that help though? Even if they could invite, you can’t invite a character that is offline. The only way to do that is via the guild finder which won’t work for a cross faction guild.

Well I did it. I used the comm method to invite my alts to my xfaction guild. Only problem is I now notice that the GM cannot promote xfaction members beyond the bottom most rank…

Strange I had no problem promoting my xfaction alts to Rank 2.

The option to promote is greyed out for me. IDK why.

Hmm. On alt requesting invite, alt f4, quickly jump on one that invites, invite, logout, go on your alt, accept. Should work kinda like party invite when going for transmog runs no?

Beside, how did you get your same faction characters in the guild in the first place, just do the same for cross faction, just with the added step of adding to friends or community.

What about if I faction change my toon while in the opposites guild? Will I still be in the guild?

I suspect they automatically leave the guild regardless. From memory, faction changing dumps your guild and any active non-account level quests you have.

I have a guildie that was considering switching to void elf, I’ll ask her if/when she does.

Can’t even do THAT, this mythical “create link” button simply does not exist for me. It’s just “invite member to guild” by name.

They have to be in your friend’s list as Real ID I believe.

Watch the video in the linked thread above. It’s a bit convoluted but it works.

I haven’t tried the “opposite faction officer” bit yet though.

If you are the guild leader…

Create a Community, make it Cross Faction.

Invite your Horde Characters to the Community

Guild Invite them using character-realm name

easy as pie

I’ve tried this many times, step by step. I can get my alts to show under the community I made but never get a invite button. any other suggestions? I’ve deleted it several times and started over, many times. Really frustrated sigh

Are you posting the invite link in the comm before switching to your alts?
