I couldn’t play the new arcane well enough to mythic raid so went hunter.
Prior to WoW I always liked playing whatever could tame pets.
My brother convinced me we need the holy trinity so instead I made a Warrior. Big axes and big shoulder pads are just as nice as taming pets now I guess.
Sometimes I think WoW actually started in the 80s cause them shoulder pads

I mained druid for years convincing myself it was the best class but hating it, then just swapped to something that was fun and I like and now here I am.

I played Guardian Druid fairly early on and liked being the “odd” tank b/c I wasn’t a warrior and/or paladin. Loved the class ever since and w/ 4 different play styles I can keep things fresh on 1 character

In 2006 my friends said I should I should play WoW. I made a nelf druid. The next day at school my friends said ‘no play horde and join our guild’
I made an orc shaman named Billtheorc. That is this character.

Shaman at first because “offensive support” rang true, I like Orcs, and the general thematic.
Then Death Knight because I wanted to tank after the support role was gutted and they were easiest to level.
Then Evoker because dragon.
BM hunter is a dumpster fire so I went to the next class that I can actually play best
You know how some people are drawn to playing as an archer, assassin, wizard, or warrior? My choice was always the priest/cleric, and so naturally, I went with Priest in WoW too. Being a user of divine magic rather than the usual arcane or elemental stuff is just so satisfying to me.
It’s also the only class that I could play for hours without getting bored because they have some of the most interesting abilities in the game.
For example, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been thanked for pulling someone away from death in bgs, or used mind control at a perfect time on a healer, or used mind vision on the BGE addons to call out incs in RBGs. It’s overall the most entertaining class in the game, and nothing comes close to it imo, especially now that they’ve introduced Dark Archangel instead of the boring void eruption ability that we were stuck with for 3 expansions.

The first time I played WoW I rolled a pretty little red headed priest because I was always a healer in other games and like being able to help people. But then after dying a billion times (this was BC) I saw somebody use the charge ability and I was like, brb rerolling, and have been a fury warrior ever since. I still die a lot, but I do it with more style now.
