How are people upset about the AH mount price?

Even you have to admit that almost 16k posts, and 21k achievement points means you are pretty invested in this game. So spending that 120 on something else would mean you now own something else while continuing to play WoW :blue_heart: The “I can buy lots of other stuff” argument is valid, but is it the path you choose? Or do you simply just say, “Not worth the price, thanks.”

Ultimately this is the best way to view it. When I take the family out, the check is over a hundred by the time you toss in the tip and the tax. The movie is almost $60 by itself after balcony tickets and snacks. Just like this game, the only tangible aspect is the memory of being there and doing it. The fact that it is almost $70 cheaper than family night makes me think we should buy some more board games and order in LOL

Also think about your sub price? Its stayed the same since 2004. If it wasnt for the In Game Shop it would have gone up years ago! At least the store stuff is Optional… I mean Amazon Prime started a $3.99. This is what people do not seem to Realize

Pick your battles man.

Exactly. Netflix was $3.99 when I picked it up in 2010 now it’s $15.99 if I don’t want Ads. 400% increase. Not sure anyone would still play wow if it was $59.99 a month + tax

I know I wouldn’t.

What if my battle is how little of this money is likely to go back into the game itself or to the developers?

If I heard about this $90 mount turning into a sweet bonus for these hard working developers who are often underpaid and understaffed, I’d buy this thing.

If I heard about this $90 mount after hearing that they were hiring legitimate customer service representatives, GMs, and more QA so this game will improve, I’d feel like this purchase was justified.

But that isn’t the case. 40-60% will go to shareholders, maybe 10% of this comes back to the game, and the rest is likely going toward their aggressive advertisement campaign.

It’s great the sub price hasn’t risen significantly over the years, and that’s because it started super high. It’s a modern competitive price for a subscription to anything. Heck a Dropout subscription is $6.

WoW has always had merch, it has a cult following. It has always had many other ways to generate revenue. It might not be as successful as CoD, but it’s ABK’s fourth biggest revenue generator, behind diablo, candy crush, and call of duty.

It’s always been enormously profitable, so bringing up the subscription price is a bit silly.

Not to mention that this company is famous for underpaying, understaffing, and overworking their developers.

You’re being scammed for a temu NFT with a mailbox.

I don’t think it detailed the topic. It was in line with bugs in this expansion.

No one’s being scammed. No one.

It’s there if you want to buy it. If you don’t, that’s okay too.
It makes no difference either way.

Y’all can’t see how this is predatory? Release an exclusive, extremely expensive, hard to obtain mount with game altering features. Take said mount away and tell everyone it’s never coming back then release said mount on the cash shop for 90 friggin dollars.

All the players that missed out on the og mount are swiping as fast as their cheeto dust covered fingers will allow.

Blizzard is using emotional manipulation to make you think this is a deal. It’s straight up evil.

When some asks me to explain how Blizzard has no integrity left, this is the example I’ll use.

same could be said about ur sub fee.

We have a choice. Deal with the store or higher sub fess. Ill take the 2004 sub fee + Store. What i spend on the store is optional sub fee isnt.

has nothing to do with

You chose to inject your unrelated issue into a topic about the new mount.

You forgot the third demographic:

People who have common sense.

How do you figure?

Is the guild bank problem and the lack of a solution as of yet not a bug?

I have common sense. I know that spending $90 on a mount that grants me world wide access to an AH and MB saves me travel time to a city to unload my haul into the AH and then travel time all the way back to my farming route (minimum 10 mins) between hearthing / flying / teleporting / etc. If I do this 4 times a day, that saves me 40 mins per day. Three times a week means 2 hours per week. 104 weeks in an expansion means 208 hours. Imagine what else I can do with 208 extra hours in an MMO by not wasting it on travel. Now picture that same 208 hours… in every future expansion. We know there are at least 2 more, with an additional 3 being discussed. That’s 1000 hours of game time I did not waste by travelling.

That context relates to the anniversary event… not your little personal problem. Again… derailing the topic.

Without explicitly saying it, one can imply from your quote that you’re trying to at least claim the majority.

Majority or not is even moot in this conversation. All that matters is that blizzard can successfully sell slop to whales who then gobble it up. Sure some get it for free via gold into tokens into balance.

There are also those who don’t. Those that don’t and just pay 90 is what blizzard has successfully achieved.

Cope more :whale:

I know better than to assume on this forum, or speak for “the majority”, hence your assumption. I have no need to cope since I am buying this mount and plan to use it on the regular. Since you have no actual proof or quote from me, how bout you go back to Classic since none of this concerns you and leave the Retail discussion to those of us whom it directly affects… and enhances.

and I’ll get more longevity from the mount than I will from the movie. although doing stuff with the fam is important… but seriously this. Or take the family out for supper to some place not fast food.

You are correct, and I have already had a talk with my auto-correct about it.

bad auto-correct, bad!

Nice attempt at taking me out of context here.

As I said before, there is no justification for it. It is a stupid amount of money for some pixels. That being said, I am happy about my purchase

How about you all worry about yourselves. I came here with popcorn to see all the people reacting and that hasn’t disappointed, however I still don’t get it. Why does anyone care what others do with their money?

Blizzard didn’t cheat. They made a digital product and set a price for it, and those of us who wanted it purchased it.
