they’re literally making record profits and you’re acting like they’re barely “surviving”. the people being laid off are often the people on the lowest end of the totem pole who, often CS and QA people, people who have been noticeable gone and have led to adverse affects in the game with worst patch launches and laughable customer service that is literally just chatgpt at this point.
I legit don’t understand the mindset of defending obvious corporate greed and scummy practices being done by blizzard.
the fact the sub price hasn’t increased only while they’re still making record profits each quarter highlights my point of them treating the game like a F2P game but with a sub as a bonus.
I would 100% take a higher sub price over them adding more and more stuff to the in-game store.
this isn’t about hurt feelings, I legit don’t understand why this is the position people are trying to push, it feels like a strawman, I’m not emotionally upset about others getting the dino mount, I’m upset about blizzard doing scummy things like adding more stuff to the in-game shop that SHOULD be in the game without a $ amount next to it.
As for the “You can pay your sub for in-game gold” the wow token is 330k gold right now. How does someone generate that much gold legitimately a month?
No one paying their sub with in-game gold is using gold they generated on their own, and is often made from GDKP/carriers and the gold for those is often bought gold from third party sites which get mixed into the wow token gold further inflating the prices.
Not to mention to get said token on said AH someone had to pay the $20 for it.
All of these things are done for blizzards benefit not the players/paying customer, and they’re scummy.
For me, I’m just disappointed they refuse to give us a plain Brutosaur without all the bells and whistles. Like, just give me a red or blue one without the vendors for like 50k gold. I don’t need or want the 24/7 AH access… I just want a cool dinosaur mount.
I’d be good with that as well.
I didn’t get the OG one – too expensive but I didn’t come to the forums to complain…I didn’t need it and therefore I didn’t buy it. Good for others who did but that is on them, not me.
If they put it back in game as is, I still would not buy it. I have the gold to do it, but I’m cheap - so no thanks.
People wanted the AH mount to return, everyone complained 24/7 it was going away.
They get a cheaper and better in many ways version and with a lower price to it that people not gold capped can get now its the worst thing ever.
Its just funny. I been wanting the AH mount but ive never been able to make even 1 million gold. 5 million wasnt possible and i was not going to get tokens to hit it. So i missed out.
Theres no second thought on this, bought it the moment the forums mentioned it.
And it has a mailbox. This finishes my mobile needs, repair, mog, AH, mailbox.
I can now begin farming on my alts and not be held back by hearthstone CD to sell my stuff and start again.
Do you have access to all their records? Sure you can look at earnings reports but do you know everything that they have to pay for vs what’s coming in?
The details of contracts, etc? Sometimes those contracts have added costs.
Then there’s the political side, the “scandals”, etc… that have to be paid for and no, I’m not going to get into that.
There’s taxes too.
All kinds of things no one takes into account when they see the earnings report.

If Blizzard put high end gear in the store for sale, I could understand the complaints.
They didn’t. They just put a different coloured bruto in, which doesn’t take anything away from anyone else and it’s there if you want it and can afford it.
Idk , I’m kind of twisted on the issue, I mean Anniversary celebration is supposed to be Blizzard showing the player base appreciation to the community for our loyalty NOT putting substandard rewards in the ingame event to earn and other Anniversary items for SALE in the Shop. I like the cosmetics but DO NOT like the way they were presented to us, especially because we have been STARVED for cosmetics and mounts ppl wanted for months prior to the Anniversary event, I mean damn we can’t even get the Pandaren heritage armors. Ijs this whole event is seriously lacking for a 30 year anniversary event, hell if anything I was at least expecting a multi person mount Kezan Hot Rod, not old with minimal earnable ingame rewards and then trying to pimp more money out of the players, ijs juice us throughout the year NOT the celebration you supposed to be showing US appreciation for our loyalty, I admittedly bought the mount bundle, it’s a good deal BUT those mounts should’ve been in game earnable mounts, the Brutosaur? I don’t want one enough to pay $90 for it and I have an AH in my WOD Garrison I’m cool

Waste your money on whatever you want, justify it however you want, nobody can stop you. But everyone on one of these things is just easily scammed, IMO.
For someone “not defending them” you sure are putting a lot of effort into explaining how the multi-billion dollar company has no choice but to sell a mount for more than the cost of an entire expansion because they “need to survive”.
There is no pay to win with buying the new Long Boi or any other store mount or battle pet now…Lord some of you are so thick headed…buying the Long Boi gives nobody the edge to be top of the game as a player at all …if you think it does…your the one that needs serious mental help.
Well then you certainly do not fit one of those categories. The cash shop has been around since the end of MoP, and we always get hit with a 12 month deal at the same time a new Expac drops. This is nothing new. What has MOST of us upset is not the mount, or the price tag… it’s the lack of acknowledgement for being a part of this community and supporting this game for so long. But much like the emotionally unavailable partner, we either accept the fact they will never acknowledge us and give us reassurance and take what they give us… or, we vote with our wallet, unsub, and go support a new MMO for the next 20 years.
