If running a cross-realm boosting community and spamming trade chat all day only nets you 15-20K gold a week then I think you’re doing something wrong.
If your guild is selling a few carry/boost runs each week to cover its costs, then carry on. The change doesn’t effect you.
Nothing with the earning potential of this. I’m gonna have to spend hours where i could spend a few minutes prior.
I’m not running a community. I’m just the grunt, the actual muscle that those people call on to actually do the boost itself. I don’t do any spamming. I get a message saying that so and so needs a boost and i run it then i get paid. I chose how many such contracts i accept. And i accept very few because i want to do other things with my time than grind all day on this game.
Boosting people in content is still very much “playing the game”, one could very much argue its far more “playing the game” than doing mindless garbage world content that barely takes even a singular active braincell to do.
You seem to be vastly confused at what exactly is being targetted here, because literally nothing you’re trying to complain about will entirely go away with this change. All this is doing is making massive groups like Huokan no longer allowed which will just result in more consolidation to popular servers, more groups being desperate for customers, and even less structure for customers buying these boosts to ensure they get what they’re paying for
callings, various raw gold/mats farming, or ask your guild’s officers to cover it, they shouldn’t have trouble coming up with gold given how good at scamming people they are. Also, your guild must be even worse that I thought if you need to spend 15k/week on repairs.
So there’s your actual problem. This policy does nothing to change what you’re doing. You just don’t know how to effectively advertise what you’re selling.
A cooldown was placed so that people don’t spam. It’s not there for you to wait out and continue to spam.
Space out your ads. Change them up. Have a document file open on one screen and WoW on the other. Copy one and paste it into trade chat. Wait a bunch of minutes, copy another and wait a bunch of minutes. Changing it up, making them sound interesting but not obnoxious (no caps and no symbols) and waiting a longer amount of time will help you with your advertising.
The reason you were getting silenced is because you had communities who would mass report you to silence you from doing it. They will sit in trade chat and report any competitor that wasn’t affiliated with their community. Since the silence reporting threshold is X quantity within Y time period they’d get you automatically silenced. You could appeal and get it removed, but after a few times you would give up which is what their goal was all along.
Can feel all those gladiators or former blizzcon players shaking in their boots lmao
Pretty sure they will still do it and get people in discords and stuff, but still nice to see this.
See that last part “customers buying boosts” - I have no cares, at all, for that part of the game. Or the people making real money off it. I hope you all quit. You’ve been ruining the game for way too long. If guilds want to do runs for gold on their server, that’s fine.
Be gone though. Good luck, I hope you guys keep it up and get banned.
Well the other options are: grind for a lot longer. Invest even more of my time in stuff i don’t enjoy doing to earn the gold. Or drop a nice crisp $20 bill on the table every couple of months. Neither seems healthier to me than simply doing what i normally end up doing (running lots of M+.)
What?
Nearly every raw gold farm has been nerfed into oblivion due to botting concerns. And they were right ot be concerned if you were around when they still existed. You’d see dozens of people zone out and zone back in right away.
The people making real money off it won’t quit you can rest assured of that.
It makes perfect sense. He said that we should be able to pay for it with all the gold we scam off people. Except my guild doesn’t scam gold off people.
