Is there a single thread in these forums in which you aren’t engaging in a dialogue of this type?
I think it’s about time you took a good look in the mirror. You’re writing novels, bud. Absolutely wild.

Hot take:
Ban people who complain about people posting their opinions.
Well at least you’re willing to admit that not all opinions have equal value, even if I disagree with you on where the values lie.
Was just the most recent example in my head…I guess I could have said china. Regardless thats mostly irrelevant to the point.
I’m honestly happy for you and everyone else who invokes dictators that your lives are so safe, and your circumstances so soft, that being asked to meet standards of behavior on a privately-run corporate forum for a video game feels like totalitarianism.
Your hyperbole, if it weren’t so cute, would be galling.
Breh you’re whinging about criticism on a video game forum. Probably best not to act like it’s other people with the first world problem.
Y’all keep conflating criticism with witless malding and I really don’t understand why.
Nowhere has the OP said you can’t criticize the game.
Is what this thread is.
Sorry no… I’m not into denial or censorship of any kind
Once again, I don’t think you have a grasp of the situation.
The OP’s tone is largely one of humor. Their responses have largely been humorous.
I mean, if you’re genuinely reading the OP and you don’t think it’s at least halfway joking, I don’t know what to tell you. I guess we read differently.
The metaphor I like is saying that we don’t have the right to determine what clean water is, so why not introduce as much sewage as we want?
There might be motivations to try at this point but I doubt it.
Well I’d love for you to enlighten me as to what you perceive my motivation to be!
Yes thats how they become dictators. While a forum is not as comparable to a full country, the concept is. There would be those that would like this type of policy to wipe out any criticism. They would not consider any reason or improvement to be productive, so they would try to just have them removed so that they couldn’t talk badly about the game.
Though perhaps we could make it a bit more fair. If someone who doesnt agree with someones complaint that has met the op criteria. If that person doesnt give a productive refute that person should also be banned. I’m sure theres plenty of critics who find it annoying to see responses such as “Bye” “no” “skill issue” “you’re just a hater”. That seems to be a fair compromise to keep it from simply becoming an echo chamber…or you know you could just ignore threads that are unproductive in your eyes.
This sort of outlook lends itself to a problem that some people would call “toxic positivity”, when you’re not able to otherwise critique the game on a subjective basis without first filing a checklist to make sure that feedback meets the “constructive criticism” criteria. That can also erode morale and make people end up hating the game even more.
I prefer to be the “be your own change” kind of mindset and lead by my own example. A straight up ban of general opinions, even if they’re not constructive or necessarily helpful, isn’t going to make the community any healthier.
“OP has a serious point.”
“It’s just a joke bro.”
“Once again, totally just a joke here.”
I mean it’s just the common and obvious support for a controversial topic followed by backtracking down the “just a joke bro don’t take it so seriously” road. Cheap, common, and easily seen for what it is.
The fallacy of ad hominem. If you can’t attack the message, attack the messenger. Ancient Greek philosophers recognized it as a way to avoid a rational discussion.
That’s where I stopped reading. No point in going on.
You do understand the concept that people can utilize humor to deliver a message, surely.
Meaning, some of the words chosen shouldn’t be directly quoted in isolation.
Like my first response to this thread upon which you jumped was because I found that particular comment to be hilarious. It had a ring of truth, but it was not the primary message.
That part of the post was humorous.
The preceding part of the post was more serious.
Is reading comprehension really this hard? Idk what the deal is.
