Hot Take: Ban Doomsayers

The forum mods, obviously.

The OP gave their opinion that they should be more strict when handling this type of behavior.

There’s also an implication that the reader is capable of differentiating worthless, incendiary posts from criticism. Apparently this is not a reasonable assumption.

Idk, is this really so hard to understand?

The flaw with this is that it’s a great idea, but only if the company in question is generally trustworthy. In which case it’s unneeded.

It’s a terrible idea in practice when the company deserves the abuse, because a maliciously-motivated company will use it as a blanket permission to wipe out constructive criticism.

There’s a very narrow range where this would work, and it’s where the company is failing but genuinely trying to do better. In that case, if they could be trusted to wipe out nonconstructive criticism and take the constructive - even though it hits harder 'cuz it’s true - then this idea could actually give well-intentioned people who are being overwhelmed with negativity, some much-needed breathing room.

I just don’t think that narrow range described Blizz very well. This is the company that nerfs cosmetics and toys. They did fix Taivan, but I feel like “unshrink Taivan!” would have been easily put into the nonconstructive bucket, and people would have just been banned, because that’s easier.

Careful it is 2024 and logic has been banned for nearly 4 years.

No.

Banning people for voicing displeasure is silly.

The same forum mods who ignore flagged posts who actually violate the CoC?
To which only take actions after we contact the compliance via e-mail?

The forums have a very limited reach. If you shutdown people’s voice because you feel it is too inflammatory, or because you disagree, they will get motivated to do so in a much higher scale and to get much more voices.

Your little bubble which you call safe place will not protect you from such thing.
Instead, you could actually challenge such posts to which the OP will either have to take a step back and have an intelligent discussion with you or will inevitably break the CoC (if the OP didn’t break it already) and soon get auctioned.

Heck, most of what you call “incendiary” is already within the CoC.

Guess all of the people calling Plunderstorm ‘Blunderstorm’ should be banned lol.

Imagine all them people calling Blizzard names during the #metoo Blizzard edition.

You can’t demand more, it is a forum, the reason for its existence, as there are people who liked this experience like me for example, there will be people who dislike you.

For example, the MoP Remix is not bad but in terms of retail, and classic server, especially the launch of Cataclysm Classic, it was a bad decision for the company to launch everything in one as if we were more than 10M players, we are not and despite That increase feels a bit messy for players divided on which WoW experience they want to play.

That is, as if I want to play WoW, but getting LFG for old WotLK raids before lvl 85 is enabled for the expansion sounds difficult for my rogue to complete while he is a wotlk character at lvl 80.

What will it be like when the Cataclysm expansion is available, but even though the remix is successful, it is a bad decision for a limited event and it takes more time while other versions like Classic and Remix aren’t absent from events.

That’s pretty good though. Do you remember what they used to call WoD?

I know one but I will not mention here because it is a ban ban.

What do you need to get banned for a innofensive joke? After all, minorities did not affect anything negative and toxic, not even in the forum.

After all, they are their decisions, there are someone who likes them, and others who don’t.

In my case the system seemed good to me, but I think that my experience in battleroyale was never my strong point, or I need to practice patiently.

OP, what are you talking about? The complaints are specific with receipts. The marketing said “overpowered”. The PTR said cloak gives up to +324% XP and applies to all subsequent alts. Now the actual mode is capped at 100%.

I for one appreciate hearing the truth from the community before I had to find out for myself the hard way.

And by the way, bashing a large corporation for misleading advertising is completely appropriate. In fact it’s mild - while I bet some Blizzard lawyer will have a technical defense, in general blatant factual misrepresentations are called fraud, and are illegal. A few salty comments on forums seems like getting off easy.

OP is trolling.

Yea, they already do that. And you know the game has only gotten worse over time because people like you don’t want to see criticism and Blizzard learned to be complacent and ignore anything that doesn’t pat them on the back.

LOL, you still didn’t comment on anything I said, you are too hung up on being outraged because someone offended you. You need to get some thicker skin.

I think I explained things pretty well here.

I will never be able to understand how someone can hate a company SO MUCH that they’re constantly bashing the company and the employees yet they keep playing their games and giving them money.

I’ve seen people say nasty thing about Blizzard, their decisions, and their employees. Okay, why are you still giving them money, then?

I’ve seen people say nasty things about the mods and the people who run the forums. Okay, why are you still posting here, then?

Like, there’s a difference between disliking a company and genuinely hating them. I’m not fond of EA because they ripped me off and their 8,000 Sims 4 packs are expensive, but I hate don’t them. I’m thankful for the Sims 4 because it’s one of my favorite games.

I’m not going to waste time and energy going to their forum just to complain about how much I despise them and all the people who work for them are the spawn of satan himself.

Like, girl, get some help.

:100:

If someone takes the trouble to voice criticism, it at least means they are still thinking about the game and might be considering playing it further or returning to it at some point.
The worst thing that can happen is apathy. When people stop talking about the game and simply turn away in silence.

Silencing/to ban critics is questionable on so many levels… but sure, op, speak to the manager in order to get those mean people, who dare to question your flawless game banned.

This entire forum is doom sayers.

Without the doom sayers, forums would be nothing. This is where angry people and trolls coming to have an IQ fight to the death.

You won’t find any meaningful posts on here

I can tell you that the overwhelming majority of humans love censorship as long as they believe they won’t be the people censored. History has taught us that nearly everyone saying that censorship is bad at any given time are just trying to reposition themselves into the position of power.
