I’m going to make a personal wager with myself that you took the “bang them over the head” choice in the quest, “Do the right thing”
lol such a great yet morbid quest. I still have the shovel in my bank
You got it exactly right
Me? Do something so terrible while singing children’s nursery rhymes?
Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping through the forest,
Scooping up the field mice,
And bopping them on the head.
There are some quests like that that stand out in terms of being enjoyable. That one for sure, and the one where you kick the goats off the cliffside ( Ready, Set, Goat!)
Any example would’ve worked except this one.
The Sludge Farm storyline was about an Apothecary going rogue. And being stopped by… a Forsaken apothecary (Lydon).
You had the choice of saving them, by the way.
The undead still fight to defend the living. That’s not a retcon. Though cannibalizing is a thing they do. They’re undead. They’re edgy.
I don’t see Sylvanas hanging around anymore. Do you?
From a new player perspective, it doesn’t really matter.
Baine and Thrall are the best parts about the Horde.
Yeah. That’s part of their customs. Though they’re not over here summoning blood gods and offering troll sacrifices.
This is literally nothing new.
The horde as a whole has since vanilla been trying to move towards bettering the horde as a whole. That’s how the whole returning to the shaman roots with the help of the Tauren and Trolls thing happened for Orcs?
I don’t understand where this is a problem? The horde isn’t just evil red bad guys destroying and pillaging the land.
If you think they are, then you don’t understand the horde.
I swear people constantly get Warhammer and Warcraft mixed up.
If you just wanna be a murder hobo with zero narrative understanding of the world your in, or the reasons why people do what they do. You should be playing Warhammer.
You had a typo there.
So yeah, the problem is they’re trying to paint them as something they’re not.
Had they written it with a “your people used to do these horrid things, but times have changed, and now you, as a freshly risen Forsaken, work to help make a better tomorrow for all of azeroth.”
That still recognizes past events but paints the new heroes of both sides in a more positive light.
And if new players only see this squeaky clean version and then hear players referencing things like the sludge farm storyline … it’ll be a disjointed feeling. because now there are two images of the Horde and they’re not sure which is correct.
What’s boring about them? They’re good guys? Is that it?
Can someone with at least a double digit IQ tell me what the problem is? Because I see none.
And I’ve been following the games and their lore since WC2.
Fixed for ya
What’s interesting about them? They’re good guys? Is that it?
Which this character did, BTW. definitely in-character for her.
My alt on the other hand played golf with the shovel.
“Defending the living” has literally never been a part of the forsaken’s mission statement. They’ve been abducting humans for experimentation and testing poisons and plagues on other members of the horde going all the way back to the first days of WoW. I don’t think the Royal Apothecary’s Society has ever done a single thing that couldn’t be considered a crime against life itself, and the entire race has always been a pack of bastards.
I’d actually like more quest with these kind of decisions, where you define how to proceed based on your character’s morals.
Oh, you don’t understand a character, their history, or their motivations, and simply write them off as generic good guys, and then complain they are boring?
What a surprise.
I also don’t understand why being a good guy is boring? Being evil isn’t interesting either, if anything most evil people are simply chaotic stupid.
“As one of the undead Forsaken, you have been reanimated by dark magic. Though shunned by the living, you tirelessly strive to protect them.”
There is no way in hell, you can give me a straight face and tell me that’s an accurate statement of the forsaken. You’d have to be trolling.
So then explain why BfA happened?
