That’s only for the expac descriptions. All that lore is still going to be there
They’ll even be confused by all the constant talk in game about the importance of Azerite if they’re removing references to Azerite. I mean, that’s a big heavy focus on the expansion!
Anduin’s policy for dealing with the horde is like Chamberlains policy of appeasement circa 1938… thats not the issue though that fits for his character, the issue is blizzard writting the horde like their opposition without justifying it. “generic agressors” without any tangible events that would warrant aggression.
I don’t doubt that it could be. They have been trying to do this ‘what is truth though?’ thing lately with the game, which is a ridiculous narrative that we have to deal with in reality, we don’t want to deal with it in our video games.
Blizzard is going out of their way to hide as much as possible. New players are going to have to do a lot of digging to find out the whole story, even more than they normally would.
…You know this is all alpha dataminung right?
Humans have some weird stuff too it implies all humans come from stormwind.
But what if i wanted my paladin to come from Dalaran?
Yes I seen it, I am also in this tweet talking, it is alpha game play, many things are subject to change from feed back, hence the reason people are alpha testers…
Which is why people are, you know, giving feedback about it.
But the original point they are not retconning anything, they are making new lore
Go look at that image again. They are removing any mention of Teldrassil and Azerite from BfA content. That is a massive retcon. Even if those events still happened, they have now happened differently from what we saw during the expansion.
Pretty much this…Its like the opposite of the statue of remembrance in dalaran with tirion and heroes for killing the lich king…its hiding the past…but then again, someone here said it best that we’d all retcon bfa if we could, and blizzard can, lol.
Im just mad about the trying to change the inherent nature of certain races…that aint gonna work.
Yeah this is all pretty terrible writing.
I mean, who decides on playing Undead or an Orc to be all peace loving and flower planting? I play Horde because painting continents red is fun!
Then there’s you who adds nothing to the convo except questioning people’s IQ.
Pretty much this. Nightelves willingly join the forsaken after being raised by there own killers. Turning on there own people afterwards. Yet Sylvannas , attacked Arthas and still heald hatred for him. But Sira and Delaryn didn't show any hatred towards Nathanos or Sylvannas. Kinda shows Danuser wants to protect his waifu. He's pretty much the guy to blame for BFA. It only continues on into Shadowlands.
People who don’t understand why this is so bad don’t recognize the negative connotations associated with “the living” when it comes to the Forsaken.
Like sure, the Horde is made up of the living which the Forsaken do protect, but generally the phrase “the living” refers to their neighbors that left them to die or shunned them immediately after the scourging. It’s basically a stand in for “EK Alliance”.
Beyond that, “striving to protect” is just also not high on the list of Forsaken values and never has been. This generic reduction of the entire race to a 1-2 sentence blurb really missed the mark.
What is there to add?
The uproar over these few lines of text is idiotic.
There, addition made.
Yes, i distinctly remember all the plagues we made to gooify the living, errr…protect them…from…dying…some other way? i guess.
Ironically I also remember the “perfect” Plague … made by a Gnome.
“Let’s not discuss the fact I just turned his prisoner to goo, shall we?”
