It seems like there has been an absolute exodus of PvPers from the Alliance to the Horde for TBC. The boost has potentiated an already significant trend. The Horde racials are definitely superior to the Alliance ones, particularly for high rated PvP, but the mere perception of Horde racial superiority is the driving force of the shift. A hard-stuck 1800 Alliance Turbocleave wouldn’t magically be 2300 by rerolling Horde. But, I digress. The trend is undeniable at this point.
We’re already seeing some Horde complain about BG queue times and I assure you, it’s going to get far worse. The Alliance are currently doing a lot more PvP than they will be. There are a lot of Alliance farming their 75k cap or marks right now in preparation for TBC. You’ll be begging for the queue times you’re currently seeing in a couple months time.
But it gets worse than that for you. Because as the Alliance “normies” abandon PvP after getting the welfare gear they’re after, the only Alliance left queueing will be the highly geared and highly coordinated premade groups. So you’re staring down the barrel of 2 hour long queue times to get rolled by a fully epic geared premade in Discord almost every match.
There will be a mountain of threads begging Blizzard to allow Horde vs. Horde battlegrounds, or suggesting that Alliance get triple honor to incentivize queueing. But, ultimately, this is a community problem and I doubt blizzard will institute a non-historical mechanical fix for a community issue. I just wanted to write this thread out so that I can link to it in July every time someone makes a post about the ridiculous Horde queue times or the Alliance premade meta.
I figured like 85% of people that mainly play for pvp were already horde tbh, basically every twitch streamer was already horde for classic. But no surprise, it’s to be expected I suppose
It’s never going to happen for classic. But the real solution outside deleting racials is just allowing Red vs Blue battle grounds, horde and alliance on same teams, just team colors
The boost had nothing to do with this trend. The majority of the Alliance that are going to Horde for TBC are doing so for Blood Elves and you cannot boost those.
Will people stop blaming the boost for EVERYTHING!
What’s next? It rained today because Blizzard added a boost to WoW.
If people are rerolling Horde specifically for TBC PvP and the boost allows for easier rerolling, then it makes sense to me that the boost will be utilized to facilitate the reroll of players in preparation for TBC. It logically follows that the boost, then, has contributed to the exodus.
Regardless, this thread is not about the boost. It’s about queue times. Queue times that are about to get REALLY nasty for an entire faction. The forums will be awash in complaints about it. This is predictable.
My argument is logical. Yours is speculative. And this thread isn’t about boosts. This thread also isn’t about racials. This thread is about queue times and premades.
Also horde racials aren’t better. I’m stuck horde cause friends are horde and no shaman boost on alli. If I could boost a goat I would be alli.
Not leveling again I will deal with the ques so long as I can avoid vanilla wow. I never liked it and yes I started in 1.11 I’ve leveled multiple characters. I don’t like it and I will boost any time I have a choice to skip 1- 60
Also my main has been troll shaman for ages. I miss her TBC version
