Horde players showing up neutrally on Amirdrassil

Are you guys all having collective mental breakdowns today or something? Why are all the posts today degenerating into this??

If someone doesn’t like real-world comparisons being made when the writers do the exact same thing, I honestly suggest they find another game.

A writer using real world scenarios for inspiration is different than comparing real world genocide to fantasy genocide.

Hope you one day figure that out.

Buddy, people here don’t even properly understand fake fantasy lore half the time, bringing real world comparisons into it consistently, which are vastly more complex, does a disservice to those real world events. Bringing up comparisons is fine, but going through the thread you’re clearly going so far off the rails with it you can’t even see the train anymore.

Yeah, it was a racial slur that was adopted and used as a slur for anyone who dissented the Marxist government in Cuba.

Not to anyone with a crumb of media literach.

Vomiting your opinion in a condescending manner doesn’t make it fact, and that’s most of your posts.

If I wanted to talk to someone who gets mouthy on the internet but has trouble ordering a pizza over the phone, I’d talk to myself in the mirror. I don’t need to take that from someone who thought that mog was a good idea.

See, I knew you’d admit it.

Screw it. I tried being nice. Time to embrace the cringe, embrace the angsty teenage version of online discourse and maybe bring my toxic self back soon.

Oh snap, Poised bringing the fire!!!

Weak rebuttal to a very valid, very correct, very cutting comment about your transmog. You just got pwned hard.

Here’s your L, enjoy it in good health.

I learned it from Wikipedia by using Google.

Just waiting for you to bring up the Sha of Iran discourse from October 2022. Let’s sort this out right now. Because i never want to discuss this topic again on the forums but I also want a chance to clear my name.

On a topic thread about “Feminism in Iran.” In October 2022, You reacted in disbelief that I would dare say that the Sha of Iran was progressive, because in your narrow vision all you saw was that 1. Imperialism is bad. 2. Down with US puppet leaders.

Let me address both issues you take offense to because you refused to listen before. The Sha of Iran was not a US puppet, this assumption is unequivocally denied by historians. He was actually a pest to President Carter because he took a firm stance against Communism and wanted Carter and the US to take a firmer stance on the rise of Communism in the Middle East. I understand why your views would skew against him as you identify as a communist.

I do not support Imperialism. The Sha ruled instead of a government, and I understand this is where he failed. Despite the fact that he was a democratic socialist who bought back land from landowners and gave that land back to the poor at low cost, created workers unions and wrote women’s right to vote into law, and Iranians under the Sha had a better quality of life. The one thing he did that was the nail in his coffin was ban women from wearing the hijab. As you know, many conversations about non-western feminism include freedoms of religious expression. Women have every right to cover up and adopt modesty. So many women were unhappy. This went beyond the separation of church and state into oppression of religious expression.

In 1979 there was a Revolution. In hindsight Iranians who participated in it described it as being lied to or manipulated by the new regime. While they were promised freedom of religious expression, they were also promised democracy. They were under the impression the 1979 revolution was abolishing of Imperial rule for the idea if creating an Iranian democratic government… but what they got was an Islamic theocratic state with a “supreme leader” aka a theocratic dictaorship. In response to the Sha banning hijabs, they went in the opposite extreeme, the hijab and modesty was now mandatory for all women. The Guidance Patrol (Iranian state police) was formed in 2005 as a successor organisation to the older Islamic Revolution Committees, but their sole objective is to enforce a modesty dress code against Iranian women. This is gender specific religious oppression. On September 16 2022 (around the same time this thread on feminism in Iran was happening) an Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini was allegedly killed, beaten to death by the Guidance Patrol, for not wearing her hijab properly, her hair was slightly showing. This sparked a worldwide protest against the Iranian state and their oppressive, barbaric laws that allow for, and protected people, who commit “honor killings.” You didn’t post anything about the protests going on in Iran you likely did not know about them but you can look them up.

I know where I stand politically and I have a good moral compass in my opinion. I’m with 90% of Iranians on this topic, the theocratic dictator state must fall, no new imperialist or dictatorship should take it’s place. Iran should have democractic government, and muslim women should have a choice to veil or not to veil, I support the right of women to freedom of religious expression. I am not qualified to discuss complex Middle Eastern politics.

This is the only time I will address you or this issue. Do not bring it up with me again. I have no interest in talking politics or religion with you. I have no interest in talking to you again, period. All your future attempts to get my attention will be ignored.

So, uh, yeah.

I prefer all future cities to be freeroam because I feel it’s better for gameplay and Roleplay interaction.
So, that’s… that’s where I stand.

I prefer all faction-controlled cities to remain with their faction for the purposes of immersion.

Humans and dwarves and gnomes and drainoses would look very weird and distracting walking around Orgrimmar. Orcs and tauren and trolls do not fit in with a Stormwind environment.

Future cities should, IMO, always be neutral, and maybe cities could be given a neutral zone diplomatic area, but otherwise?

Keep the factions seperate so we have options other than Stormwind stories.

A few cross faction neutral cities in new zones are fine but I would like my city to remain my racial city.

Nelves are just gonna walk around barefoot and make Silvermoon smell like feet. I can make ammendments for High elves and Void elves but unless the Nelves are also offering reparations they can stay over there in their tree.

That’s the thing, I feel like when it comes to being ‘immersive’ or only having races that match the aesthetic of the faction… that’s kinda been gone for a long time.

Like, Belves don’t mix with the aesthetics of Orgrimmar, but I don’t necessarily think they shouldn’t be allowed to go there. Any kind of factional cohesive aesthetic I felt was lost long ago and doesn’t really matter anymore. I also just feel like having ‘Horde races’ in Stormwind makes it so that these faction capitals feel like modern multiethnic cosmopolitan cities like they’re supposedly meant to be in lore.

I dunno, I’d just prefer it if we got rid of the factional gameplay split altogether and left it in the past. Keep it in the lore, just get rid of the gameplay element of it.

I am about to get a little extra spicy I think, so fair warning: the spice is aimed as Blizzard, not any player!!

No, I do not want any more blanding of the factions than we have now because I’m still owed a Horde story, gosh dang it.

And no, the “the new warchief is evil now, so we’re all gonna do evil now, until a rebellion happens and we feel bad for having been evil because that isn’t the Horde” story-arc is not a Horde story. It defines itself by telling me what I’m not supposed to be.

But there has not been anything to showcase what we are supposed to be to contrast that with. I suffered through Garrosh and Sylvanas. I am owed a story showing me why. I’m owed something that says “this is what it’s actually like to be Horde”.

I’m freaking owed that.

As soon as everyone can be in Stormwind, there’s no reason for Blizzard to even give us the crumbs of story we get for Horde races not named some variety of orc or troll. Blizzard can just tell very good human stories, throw some bones to night elves, maybe do a side story for a dwarf or two and call it a day, because we all play together, so it’s all really all our story, isn’t it?

We already see that trend happening way too often, and i just do not see a benefit in incentivizing that further by removing the very few boundaries currently present.

No need to worry about smell when I have these!

So what you are saying is we need to destroy all the other cities and give them the Amirdrassil makeover treatment.

Look compared to the smell of Ogrimmar or Stormwind all elven cities must smell like lovely flower patches.
