Why do you see not being allowed to go into Bel’Ameth or Gilneas as punishment? Do you feel the same way about Stormwind?
At no point was I given the task of saving Stormwind, let alone over the course of an entire patch. The analogy doesn’t work.
Because this is a game, and you can’t write an entire content patch to lock out half the players just to punish the players for stupid nonsense the writers wrote themselves.
Simply put, take it up to the writers, player tribalism is sad.
The new Night Elf village isn’t a questing hub. It’s something created to bookend tne Night Elf saga, and next expansion it will be abandoned by players and Blizzard alike.
It’ got lots of tools for rp groups who choose to make use of them, especially given it’s easy access Alliance side.
Worth keeping in mind is that there is a fairly close Inn that Horde players can hearthstone to if they wish. Or keep a supply of the Aaylang Windstones on hand.
Can we get focus on any other race then night elves? They now had attention for 4 expansions straight.
See here’s the thing… They’ve been tanking the Dev’s attentions like a champ.
You really want the Dev’s to stop focusing their attention on the Night Elves?
Just imagine how much worse it could be for the Blood Elves and then ask yourself again if you want the Dev’s to stop giving the Night Elves attention…
The Night Elf Saga ends now, so you will clearly get your wish next expac.
I’m hoping he wasn’t using a Monkey’s paw to make that wish…
This thread almost makes me genuinely wish for the days when we speculated that Blizzard only cared about writing Horde stories because they put a 12 ton statue of orcs in front of corporate headquarters without any Alliance rep. Or because there was no Alliance equivalent of ETC.
That’s the kind of thing we actually seriously pondered in the dark days leading up to WoD. (“Another expansion of orcs?!”)
Yeah, that’s right, that’s why they didn’t block Alliance player characters from doing quests in Durotar and Horde player characters from doing quests in Elwynn Forest.
When the game dies because the devs caved to faction tribalism again and half the subs are gone, please make sure to remember your own words
I will if you promise to remember how hard you shifted that goalpost.
Because that was some impressive speed.
I didn’t say blood elvs. They don’t need attention since their nation is healthy and prospering. All they need is Kael back. No who needs attention is those races that always get killed as raid filler because Blizzard can’t stop abusing them. Aka Trolls and Orcs.
No one wants yet another alliance centric expansion. To hell with Alleria.
The big flashy expensive CG for TWW is the (effective but not official) leader of the Horde asking the (effective but on-leave) leader of the Alliance for help.
I think people who are mad about seeing other faction toons around them, as well as people who like storylines that are designed to bait forum arguments by showing each faction an incomplete picture that’s only revealed by playing both, are in for a bad time. At least, I’m hoping for it. I guess there’s always the worst outcome where Metzen comes into a meeting room and says “boy Cataclysm/Pandaria/Legion were sure great wasn’t it?!”
I can not stress enough how much I disliked how much they tried to stoke player tribalism by showing each faction an incomplete Fake News version of an event, mostly because they were leaving it to the lore people who read the text for both factions to lay down what really happened. So even three months after you’d still get new players or people becoming interested with the story bumbling in and going “Hey guys I’ve been questing for 60 hours and you won’t believe how Not-My-Faction is the true bad guy!”
Not happening short of an AU version and he’d have his own people to deal with, so still not happening.
Should happen. This is just my wish. I can’t stand Bob and his appeasement towards humans.
He’s dead. Get over it.
No I will not. I just replayed Reforge yesterday and I will never sotp loving him. Death to Lor’theamr and his regime.
Not the same issue… since Durotar was a Horde questing area and Darkshore an Alliance one.
But the Emerald Dream and the Broken Isles were a joint questing area for both factions. both groups of players put in the work to make Amirdrassil happen and excluding one group of players punitively would definitely not go well. And in character it would be an expression of extreme ingratitude.
