Wha?
Oh!! Oh, this response!! Sorry!!
I’ll be honest with you; my entire argument had been meant tongue-in-cheek. While I do feel the tauren, of all the old Horde races, are the least aggressive and most inclined to talk over fighting, I don’t think they’re actually like… Borderline Alliance or anything, or overly inclined to befriend Alliance races.
I was just trying to poke some fun at the whole thing.

Seems attacking the Orcs and Humans was about theft, and the Night Elves don’t own their Human allies’ trees. Except maybe that big one in Duskwood.
True true.

In Ashenvale? What are you referring to?
I imagine that nature is seen as an extension of the Earthmother, as in most religions that worship an earthmother figure.

I think at least on Moon Guard there were initiatives in place to try and take rpers away from Stormwind. But those fell through during the who boycott and sexual harassment lawsuits.
I feel like regardless you still could have people go to Ashenvale or Feralas, or well anywhere. But people felt inclined to stick to Stormwind, not because of the writing, but that’s where people went to roleplay. I remember when there was phasing during the Diablo Event people were greatly upset when myself and other people suggested moving the city rp to another city. Claiming that moving anything from Stormwind would kill rp.
But that’s the fault of the roleplayers, not the fault of Blizzard. If people did more in Ironforge or elsewhere there wouldn’t be a problem. Same on the Horde side.

it’s also Blizzards fault for putting all the important amenities like the portal rooms, the barbershop, etc specifically in Stormwind and nowhere else. That’s why blizzard gets the blame they do.
If every city had a portal room, a barbershop and a Transmog NPC, on top of everything else the cities offer, you would start seeing RP spreading out more again.

Capital hub specific Hearthstones would help.

That was originally the Thalassian Base Camp if memory serves.
Boralus has that but again and Zandalar by extension but again that died during the whole lawsuit thing. People have been trying to revitalize it along with whole guilds but it’s not really sticking well enough to have some sort of an impact.
Luckily there’s a transmog in a mount and toy so you really don’t need the transmog npc anymore. And as long as there’s mages around you really don’t need a portal room.
Mages and people with the mog mounts aren’t always around though. So that’s not something people should be reliant on to begin with. I’m hoping Gilneas/Bel’Ameth get the ball rolling again and it starts getting people out of Stormwind.

Honestly I’d rather focus on Kalimdor and the Broken Isles. They have some amazing areas to rp in for Kaldorei.
Gilneas rp has been around always you just need to look in the custom party finder. But others are Dalaran, Ironforge, and Boralus.

We get to RP in Gilneas, which is what important to us worgen fans. It’s an exciting time really. I don’t care about Kalimdor because I’m not much of a kaldorei fan
It’s still part of Blizzard’s fault for consolidating all the conveniences to one city. Keeping everyone bottled up in two cities so that they can pretend that there’s a local culture and hide player losses was 100% Blizzard’s intent.

The Darnassian Base Camp did replace the Thalassian Base Camp in Cataclysm, yes, but that’s way on the other side if the map from Talrendis Point.
All things you don’t need to rp. You just need a little imagination and the willingness to leave your comfort zone.
Except by removing other cities from the portal network they made it far more difficult and annoying for people to leave their comfort zone.
Also Night Elf RP has been on a massive decline since BfA at least in my experience.

Cause night elves forced them to be in Stormwimd which was a stupid decision on their part. And people went along with it. Which was even dumber.
I’ll admit to that. I probably shouldnt have. And for my kaldorei characters have rectified it to where theyre only in Kalimdor.

Dragonflying has made getting wherever I please to roleplay EXTREMELY easy, and fun and engaging. But according to forum posts I’ve seen, there’s not a small number of people who hate it and/or are really bad at it, despite it being more than twice as fast!
But no, none of this ‘inconvenience’ makes roleplaying elsewhere untenable. No no. No.
It’s SHARDING.
Valdrakken is gorgeous, has all the amenities of a capital city, and it’s SHARDED.

Aren’t all of them? Isn’t the entire game world sharded?
No. Stormwind and Orgrimmar are explicitly not sharded, the Icecrown Tournament Grounds are not sharded during the week of Tournament of the Ages. That’s why they serve as viable RP hubs-- everyone you see is everyone that’s there.
UNLESS IT’S LAUNCH DAY. Then all bets are off.

There hasn’t been an occasion where I haven’t seen players from multiple realms at those places… just like everywhere else.
