So now you’re reduced to counting “what if’s”?
The reason Blizzard did that was to make sure they joined the horde with his daughter as leader.
You’re welcome.
True, but they got lost chasing method to the lame faction.
If your measure of winning balance is in the amount of selfish war-starting evil acts each side commits, you’re going to have a bad time. Wasn’t there a thing on PTR with alliance death squads trying to commit genocide against Vulpera, that was removed because Alliance players didn’t want to seem like evil Hitler clones?
His daughter is an insufferable angsty child who isn’t as powerful as she was at the start of the expansion but is just as insufferable. We got her and no navy… definitely not a win.
If I recall correctly, it wasn’t even reflected within the Alliance story and the devs were wanting to use that as reason to have the Vulpera join the Horde. However, as many pointed out, it made no sense for the Alliance to try to genocide a neutral race out because they might join the Horde. It’s a guarantee that it would make them the an enemy of the Alliance.
Simply put, it was heavily disliked because it was unnecessary and unprovoked excessive force that did not fit the Alliance. Heck, would have a hard time to sell such a story of the Horde doing the same.
You mean like y’all did with the Zandalari? Who were neither our allies nor even close to members when you locked up their princess and then chased her into her own harbor to try and get her back, then robbed their treasury and killed the king, all while the Zandalari were absolutely still dangling the Horde on a string because we hadn’t done enough to earn an alliance?
Or how Umbric in your war campaign describes the Sethrak as “indigenous snake people” who unfortunately have to be destroyed because they object to the Alliance stealing a chunk of their land as a harbor without asking?
Hmm. No, that would be so out of character.
I was part of many Raider IO threads.
If I recall yours was fairly civil, so there’s that.
I really just don’t like Mythic+ as a whole. Only reason I’ve ever done any, is because they literally locked away abilities behind it through essences.
Speed running dungeons isn’t really that interesting to me.
Can you link whatever source you have for that please?
First time hearing of this, and I’d like to better understand the context.
Basically they were talking about content being cut that they wanted to implement but simply ran out of time. Was around Cata/MoP era.
Edit: Thanastasia found it below.
rofl. nobody wanted these anyway.
I think Darkspear troll high-rise and Zandalari cabins would make good neighbours. I also think Sin’dorei tents and Nightborne tents should chill near each other…you could also have a Vulpera market near a Goblin science lab. Not because I want to see Foxes on fire but because I feel like the Vulpera are gypsies and I want to see them do the classic (rewire someone elses landline so they don’t have to pay for internet) trick in Orgrimmar. Should also have different Orcish architecture from the still intact tribes from Dreanor timeline.
Yeah, they just allowed someone people in 2011 to say “F— Alliance” and call them “H—s”. Also, last year at Blizzcon, they put up an image making fun of Alliance complaints regarding Warmode.
It’s safe to say that even if they don’t “play WoW”, their favoritism revolves around the Horde faction.
I think Horde players try to ignore this so they can feel like they are “underdogs” when in reality Horde haven’t been underdogs since Blizzard released Battlegrounds in Classic.
Blizzcon search, it was Metzin saying that the Alliance was boring like Superman and its more fun writing Wolverine and Batman, oblivious to the fact that they are also good guys.
When BfA launched, you could easily see in the PTR that the horde side was developed first.
Thanks, I knew I heard it somewhere, but couldn’t remember who said it or when.
Another annoying issue that has been going on is how often they try to model the Alliance after the Horde. I’ve heard terms used such as, “blue warchief” used in place of the high king. I always felt that the Alliance should have been a council form of leadership that way they could have dissent as part of their story then maybe have a supreme commander or something as their united forces commander.
Then fact that when they did finally come up with a warcry for the Alliance, it was quite literally just a copy of the Horde’s but changed the faction name. They really needed to come up with something more original as it’s just difficult to say it with meaning as we all know it doesn’t have heart behind it.
So much potential that it felt like they just phoned it in and copied the homework used for the Horde.
What are you talk about Horde favoritism?
Horde are getting vulpera, at least Alliance isn’t getting those.
Wow has enough joke races.
Alliance favoritism has been a bigger problem, you complain from a narrative point, but we know the Alliance civil war is inevitable, Tyrande is gonna go full Thanos, and we’re no doubt going to see Turalyon and Alleria’s marriage finally get rocky.
Every Man For himself was broken for so long, and means humans had 2 trinkets for the span of 2 expansions at least.
Night Elves have Shadowmeld, it used to be an ambush ability, now it’s a racial vanish used by Night Elf druids to escape ganks while using a CC.
Kul’Tirans get a knockback and stun.
Mechagnomes have a passive heal ability that gives back 20% of max health
Will of the forsaken is nerfed into the ground
Arcane Torrent was nerfed into the ground into a beyond useless AOE purge instead of the AOE silence/interrupt it should have stayed
Humans still have a bonus to detection
Dwarves still have a bleed remover racial as far as I remember
The only racial that hasn’t been touched on Horde is berserking for Darkspear Trolls!
Zandalari Troll racial Regeneratin’ was nerfed to require you stand absolutely still while channeling it instead of it being like how enraged regeneration was for feral druids back before the spec was split between feral and guardian! Zandalari needed it to remain immune to nerf, now it’s only usable on the scope of Cannibalism, only without a corpse to feed from!
Highmountain should have had a knockback, stun, and move bonus, but that got nerfed hard because of alliance tears!
Every cinematic we see that shows Horde as the focus doesn’t make up for the mechanics forcing Alliance favoritism!
If it’s favouritism to have all your sane main characters killed off or make insane then how do I transfer this “favouritism”? Over to you lot?
As someone else pointed out in this thread, Horde “centralism” is a more accurate phrase of the issue. It’s not so much of the devs favor the Horde in the story, rather, they focus on the Horde for better or worse. The Alliance just exists in said story so that there’s two sides. Like a friend of mine would say, “The Alliance exists to further the story of the Horde.”
These guys show up time to time like hard-to-kill insects, almost like the High-Elf threads. I wouldn’t regard it. Blizzard would ultimately eyeroll at him too.
It’s not his fault though – that in a sequentially ranked hierarchy, based on level of critical importance, the disparity between us and him, is too vast to quantify.
To translate in Conclusion: - He’s basic. As is all those that agree with him.
He’s the stereotype hater. I mean he even selected the stereotype race & class combo to go with it - The Merely Small-Minded Human Paladin.
So what? Horde, Alliance… still gonna be the same comp.
Besides Alliance were the main faction in Arena WC, constant NE shadowmelding and dwarf stoneform…
Alliance Bias is everywhere.
