Honor System should be released in Phase 1

At AQ40 you have to factor that the PVP set has hit on it as well which is needed for Naxx as they have a higher chance to resist. That is why its listed as an alternative. Can you even read the guides? For MC/BWL/AQ20, its the engima/mantle. For Naxx, its the blue piece.

THEN IT’S COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. The PvP Set would have been out for a year before Naxx comes out.

This discussion isn’t even about that. It’s about the NEED for an honor system in Classic to make the game whole. It’s about the understanding that going patch by patch is ill-advised when many of the patches were solutions to a PROBLEM.

Classic should have the best aspects of Vanilla and every bit the great SPIRIT of Vanilla. This includes honor systems and PvP.

I gave MY suggestion on how you might bring about the release of the Honor System with phase 1. Capping honor at rank 11 so that the best gear reward is the PvP blue set is a good plan.

The PvP Blue Set is, item for item, much worse than MC epics.

You’re completely confused as to what the point of this entire thread is. It’s about getting the Honor System in the game because the game will SUFFER without it.

It is not an opinion when I say that but this is factually incorrect as a caster. Adding PvP gear at launch would affect this for mages, warlocks, and shadow priests. Do you think adding something on par with AQ40 gear at launch is a good idea? Do you think adding something at launch that came well after Dire Maul (stage 2) at stage 1 is a good idea? How is there validity when your counter logic is straight wrong and effects the meta at launch. Not only that but that Blizzard is releasing content through phases. PvP came out after Dire Maul (and just the honor system). Dire Maul is phase 2. If they aren’t releasing Dire Maul because of MC progression why would they release pvp gear?

The transition would be far smoother if the Honor System were released with MC and for them to cap honor ranks at Rank 11 during phase 1.

Rank 11 only allows for Blue PvP gear.

A comparison between the 2-piece PvP and the alternative Enigma Boots/Mantle of the Blackwing Cabal:

PvP Set: +53 Spell Power (Set bonus included), +21 Intellect
Alternative: +62 Spell Power, +31 Intellect

Blue gear is inferior to the BiS raid gear, it’s just more accessible.

Listen, I don’t think we’re getting anywhere. Whether people throw the 2-piece on or not, the game will suffer without an honor system and PvP in the early months. That’s a HUGE part of Vanilla WoW and what I know many people are excited about.

You’ve proven you have a lot of this underlying information, and I bet you know that MC will be on farm within a month of launch.

If the launch schedule is anything reasonable, the honor system and PvP will be implemented well before BWL or AQ. If it isn’t, they will hurt the game immensely. This is coming into the game regardless, unless of course the change it.

It is nothing close to “Naxx quality”.

As Global has brought up, it’s the 2-piece set bonus that makes it highly valuable and only casters use it for that exact reason.

Spoiler Alert, engima isn’t out until AQ40, phase 5. If engima isn’t out until phase 5, doesn’t that make the blue set piece the best items you can get until then?Your idea means at launch, you already start getting the best items until 83% of the game content is out (Phase 5).

Now if Dire Maul gear was moved from phase 1 because they wanted to make it authentic and make MC gear more valuable then wouldn’t putting gear stronger than DM gear/MC gear/BWL gear in at launch be a horrendous idea?
