Honor grind is a major waste of time / unfun / this isn't OSRS

I need roughly another 60k honor to finish off my ret set.

Some people have claimed turning in marks is faster, well it’s not. Unless you’re getting reasonably quick wins in WSG / AB but when a loss is dragged out for 20 minutes and you get 1 mark…

it comes out to a terrible honor per hour even with a burst of luck and getting lucky like your AB team 5 capping which can happen sometimes.

Which leaves AV as the most reliable way to gain fastest amount of honor.

with all that said, why make people endure this?

What would somewhat help the tank and healer shortage would be to reward these 2 underplayed roles with honor for running heroic dungeons… doesn’t have to be a lot but even 250 honor per heroic would be a good incentive + dps win because they don’t have to shell out 100g for a tank / healer

If you don’t like PvP then don’t. Doesn’t need to be any easier than it already is.

You are doing PvP to get PvP gear, what’s the issue ? It’s the same in PvE

Blizzard did good changes to make PvP gear easier to get. Now i can get around 2-4k honor in less than 1h thanks to dailies + Great honor

Level 70 → Get blue PvP gear from reputation + get ring from Terrokar shards + do some BG & dailies + do 10 arena matches/week

I have no idea what you’re doing… I suspect you don’t know, either. I completed my ret set the other day. Three weeks of very casual play and I bought all 5 set pieces, my bracer, ring, neck and cloak.

My win-rate for BGs is hovering over 50%, as well. Solo-queue only.

If you don’t like PvP, find something else to do.

Uh… you could raid and get your tier tokens for the set pieces. Your proposal would just increase DPS interest in heroics.

Are you doing the PvP dailies? It’s 943 honor per, there’s towers in Terrokar and capturing 3 objectives in Hellfire. You can pretty reliably do these and get 1.8k honor in like 15 minutes, once per day. Do the bg daily and that’s about 3k honor after the honor from the bg as well.

This means you can chip away at honor gear while taking breaks to play other games or do irl stuff. Or pvp more if you’re enjoying it, but still get a nice boost every day. It’s not that bad, it felt bad starting out but the set pieces are really cheap it’ll fly by.

Let’s not forget the 3 bonus marks. That should greatly incentivize participating in the 3 non-AV BGs when those are the daily. We get nearly 4k bonus honor for turning in marks from 6 wins in each. Normally, I get a win in my first match or two. Sometimes it takes 3. There was only one day that I couldn’t get a win in EotS. I quit after 4 or 5 tries. Most of those losses were close, and I’d rack up around 50 HKs in each.

Bold of you to assume they are on a server where Towers change hands. I have a character on Faerlina and have yet to see Alliance control any towers all though leveling him. But I’m also someone who enjoys BGs so that wasn’t a big deal. It’s just not a option for everyone.

I think the honor rate is correct for the type of players we currently have. We have more hardcore dedicated people than we do anything else. So those players would be bored because the game would become too freely handed to them.

Every 6 hours towers reset and you can easily complete these dailies on faerlina.

The people who endure this are the same people who just play casually while watching YouTube or TV in the background.

The honor gains are still atrocious yet there is a vocal minority on the forums who think otherwise.

They think their way is the best. Some, like myself, think its absolutely awful.

They say, if we think its bad, why not just quit. Its like there’s no thinking past their nose.

They just don’t see what we see. They don’t care about others. Anyone who says to quit first and foremost doesn’t want to critically think. They want tradition. They want old fashioned values. They want people to conform to their views or leave.

They don’t seek critiques. They do not want new ideas, nor do they want improvements. They blow off suggestions, ignore feedback and above all else, firmly believe, with no doubt in their mind, that things are fine. That things are tolerable and they should remain the same.

They do not consider those with other veiw points as players. They’d rather them quit and ruin a pvp scene then even respond with anything more than the 30 seconds it takes to type “just quit the game you love. The game you’re trying to give feedback on, and don’t let your voice be heard. Just quit. No one wants to hear about these changes.”

Wouldn’t it be a world where people who love the game, take time to explain why this is that, or that is this. I’ve done it and I’ve been met with the same “this is a joke, you are a bad loser, quit trying to change tradition, quit.”

I feel second hand embarrassment from reading those posts. I feel bad for those people. The ones who want to see the game they play lose players. They don’t even realize they are killing the pvp scene when they say it. Its a slow bleed out for sure, no doubt. I just wish they cared more about the health of the pvp pool of players then old tradition.

Good luck wanting any form of healthy changes on here. You’ll need thick skin to match those with helmets.

Love you babe <3

Battlegrounds are barely pvp. I just want to do arenas but I’m gated behind 100-200 hours of BGs. I’m horde and AV queues during the day are now reaching 10 minutes so my honor per hour might be 500-1200 - it’s a mindless and boring grind.

AV / WSG / AB is not PVP people are interested in, unless you are a twink.

PVP is the arena at 70 and sorry, but doing this over and over again is not fun

I completely agree. Arena is end game. When I do BGs, its only AV because its the only viable BG. It gets stale. Boring. Mind numbing. Its not the pvp I enjoy nor would I engage in it if it wasn’t forced.

If honor was not required for arena, you would not catch me in them. I would be in just arena. To bad we don’t get honor from doing arena like raiders will soon be getting badges from raids.

The only people who’d think this are either lazy, or don’t like PvP.

Befor the change, the Hellfire towers gave zero honor. The Spirit Towers gave about 200 at level 70, and the daily gave 300-400. Theae all give 943 honor at 70. We get 3 extra marks for a win. The binor from turning in marks has about doubled, as well. To make things even nicer, raid bosses started dropping more tier tokens, and these can be exchanged for PvP set pieces.

The mark coat reduction and honor cost reduction we saw across the board makes all things even easier!

If I can gear up completely in 3 weeks with very casual play, anyone should be able to gear up within a week.

Honor is so easy to get now. I don’t understand what you guys are doing?

You’re saying people who think like this don’t like to pvp and then list non-pvp methods of getting honor lol

How about make each arena win also give 200 honor and each loss 50 honor?

Only do BGs to get the marks you need to buy the items you need, otherwise just focus on PvP dailies. If you just knock out Spirit Towers in Terokkar and the three flag captures in Hellfire, you get 1900ish Honor from that and it takes basically no time or effort to do (plus you make +20g for your troubles). If you can snag a BG daily win as well, that’s even more honor (800-900 or so) and three marks so make sure to do those if its for a BG you need.

Otherwise, don’t just mindlessly grind. Unless you really like the BG you’re doing, don’t. Just get your daily honor and in a few weeks you have all the honor you need and then some. I snagged boots, bracers, and neck very easily and very casually doing the above method and I have now 20k+ Honor to spare because the free Honor/gold is nice (and I’ll need it for S4 gear).

In short, you don’t need bonuses for doing dungeons, just do the dailies Blizzard amped up specifically for this purpose. They’re more than sufficient.
