They did this in a way to encourage participation and mix up different systems interacting with each other. You are now encouraged to rotate different BGs and engage in the open world PvP objectives instead of just running around in AV on repeat.
The honor grind on my alt was refreshing with these changes. If not for them the best way was literally to sit in AV all day encouraging more and more AFK’ing in BGS.
I used to say “well its not THAT bad” before the changes but also never finished an alt because of the daunting grind of honor/professions. Now I play my alt all the time and it was in full S1 honor gear within a week or two…At this point…PvP is not for you if this isnt enough.
Yeah that’s not happening, arena is for a different currency entirely and that’s by design. Stop asking for welfare epics and put in a little bit of work.
Its funny pvp gear used to be considered just that back in TBC. Now its quite the opposite. The PvE is rolled over and epics rain down on raids while the PvP gear requires a lot more time invested.
Not to mention arena is harder work than afking in AV but you know… you’re traditions are very important, old man. No one here can hurt you. Put the cane down and relax.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed gearing up since the changes. The BG dailies keep things fresh, the queues are shorter and participation seems higher overall.
If they made honor super easy to get, the progression path for pve would to be to instantly queue up for pvp and never leave BGs until you’re ready for raiding. They’ve had to balance the gear progression between the two for a long time now and I think they’ve hit a sweet spot now.
You mean Kara, GDKPs, soon to be Zul Aman, Gruul, mag all while not even being in pre raid bis, which you can do all in one day, then head into SSC and TK the same day, again, clearing content without even being in pre raid bis, and a few select items you probably won from a kara or bought from a gruul/mag?
That would be the day. The day where people would much rather spend almost a week getting pvp geared than 1 day getting pve geared, which is still better in pve.
I personally don’t encourage points gained from losing. It breeds a terrible meta. Only winning should give you honor from arena, if arena where to give honor.
Nah, it wasn’t a bump. It was me telling OP (who is I guess you) to quit because I’m sick of crybabies whining for everything to get nerfed. If you don’t like it, quit.
If calling my post a bump is your version of huffing copium then feel free. In reality, massive negative feedback piled onto one thread is actually the opposite of a bump. It actually demonstrates heavy opposition to the OP’s idea which actually proves to blizzard that the OP’s view is in the minority.
I think you’re misinterpreting what’s going on here…
Yes - there are plenty of ways to avoid and earn honor right now. However, taking advantage of these quests does not imply not liking PvP. I’m simply pointing out that Blizzard is literally showering us with honor, and folks are still complaining.
Exactly this!
Agreed!
I had zero interest in doing any sort of PvP on my alts. I was fine with the grind for my main. Now, my druid is sitting on 17k honor, and is level 68. I should easily have my mace and the trinket by the time he’s 70 (if I take my time leveling, I might even have the cloak.)
