Honestly I don't see the appeal in Wrath anymore

So go level your dwarf shaman on retail.

Retail is there for you if you want it.

No one is keeping you in classic.

All you’re doing by quitting is lowering the massive queue times.

Absolutely untrue. Some of the worst behavior I ever saw in this game were RDF heroes saying utterly horrendous things and behaving like cantankerous jackasses to people who weren’t clearing Wrath heroics fast enough for their liking. People who were “relaxed and laid back” were the exception, not the rule.

Feeling it too. I don’t have much free time as I have a family now and just feels like more of a chore now than anything. Sucks as I wanted to enjoy it but whenever I do have any free time it just sounds boring.

Here’s to growing old and not having 8 hours a day to play like I used to

Whats the appeal? For me.

  • linear progression: Every day i can log in, do a given activity and make active progress toward a goal, not a random chance at success.
  • Loot in more consistent and Linear: Loot progression in the game is great because i again, have a goal, i know what i need, and how to get it, and i can choose to go for what i want, and how i spend my time trying to gear, when i get it, im done, i dont need to keep grinding out for endless random upgrades.
  • Prof that matter: My professions matter again, i have a reason to farm and level it up.
  • Combat and mechanics are better: The comabt is slower and more fun, vs retails action RPG style combat, retail feels like im playing diablo
  • Economy is not trashed: Wrath is not a gak show like retail is because of all the cross faction and realm AH crap.

Everything just feels better.

I don’t know what it is, but I think I am just burned out. I’ve struggled just to login and make it to 74. I just lost every desire to even level to 80. It seems much slower than TBC and the zones are just taking forever, which isn’t helping. I believe I might have outgrown this Classic nostalgia. I had a blast in TBC and Classic though.

Not to mention, no LFD/RDF is making things a bit more painful. I got a Nexus group and was flying there because nobody was at the stone. BTW, the “community” argument for this is nonsense because once 2 people are at a stone, the other 3 get a summon. The other 3 don’t have to “venture out into the world and find the entrance to the dungeon!”. Anyway, as I am about to land, the group disbands. At this point, I am stuck in Coldarra and have to fly back to my questing area in eastern Dragonblight/Grizzly Hills. So, I end up stepping away while I fly back over. Once I land, I realized I just wasted a bunch of time and I’m just like… meh. I find the Inn and log off.

TBH you are litearlly in the worst leveling part of Wrath. 73-75 kinda sucks. 75-76 is not bad, but from 76-80 its a down hill slope and its easy street and the quests get WAY better. Right now you have to run around aLOT to get things done.

Trust me when i say this, you are literally going through the roughest part right now.

Were playing WOTLK. There is no failure here. I, and the op, knew exactly what we were getting into: The best of WoW.

Lol Blizzard shill. Youre a dunce. I dont give two licks about Blizzard. The company is finished.

Ive had an absolute blast in Classic. Why are you even here Onesalv? You sound like the addict to me. Youre not happy but still subbed? Do us both a favor - quit the game and take a hike.

Yes they do. This game seems to be no longer for you or the op. Dont let the door hit yah on the way out!

A bad product lol

WotLK is the pinnacle, nerd. You dont tell others what they like. Dont call me an addict while youre subbed to a game that you dont even like.

I’m 53 years old, I started playing WoW in 2009, I was 40 when I started playing this game. I feel in love with WoW then and the Wrath experience. I’m playing it now because the game offers me a playstyle that is not found in retail, while enjoying the storyline that made WoW so incredible.

I agree with the QoL stuff being a hardship, maybe that’ll change, I hope some of it will. In the meantime, I am having a blast playing this version of the game and have no plans, not even for DF, of returning to retail. Retail just doesn’t provide the same level of class/spec design enjoyment that Wrath does.

Why are you even here. How sad are you that youre trolling a forum for a game you dont even play, and havent played since phase 2 TBC.

No one cares what you like or dont like. Disappear like a fart in the wind, Onesalv. Moron buys a 60 day sub for a game he hates. Blizzard thanks you for your money.

Well there’s your problem. You’ve raced to level 80. That doesn’t sound like a very fun experience to me.

I guess you are one of the few who enjoyed seeing Thrall kill Deathwing when we were fighting his spine and fingernails.

I mean mop was decent, but I think cata had the best pvp balance. I remember in mop people were dying in a single deep freeze from full hp with defensives up, stampede not being reduced by resilience, and hand of Gul’dan was one shotting people. Only thing in cata was warriors on launch were slightly over tuned. That’s about it. But I do enjoy wotlk pvp with the exception of death knights being nuts early in the expansion.

Yea and they are using the nerf build so they are not so op as they could have been.

Yeah if you aren’t feeling it that’s fine, every game is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Can always just go level up Garmuck, that version of the game might meet your needs more.

I was already out of school when it dropped back in 2008.

Wrath all day!

And?

I disagree. the start of TBC grind was horrible.

That’s wow. Retail/classic have both.

That was happening back in 2008

Doubtful. Wrath was blizzards highest peak of subs and players in this games history.
numbers don’t lie. anyone who is playing wrath classic knows this.

because cata was the reason wow started losing subs/players. Cata was trash…
MOP had some good stuff but blizzard still took a number 2 on that with WOD

Yeah that’s true. They’re still bonkers with low resilience levels though. One grip, pre-ams and you’re dead before ams falls off. The glyph adding 2 seconds to the duration is just nightmare fuel early on. Grip, ams, dot, scourge strike… you’re at 10% hp gg. I can’t wait until wrathful
