I just got to 80 after grinding it out for the past couple days and i’m realizing very quickly that nothing about this experience is worthwhile unless you’re perpetually stuck in your adolescent high school stage of life and trying your best to relive it.
Like I get that this Community bags on Retail a lot but the common complaints about Retail are also very present in Wrath:
Majorly annoying honor grind for gear
Unbalanced PvP, heavy reliance on raiding to PvP for most classes
Elitist community far worse than Retail
No RDF, no QoL, no XP buffs
Tons of botting/RMT and soon in 2 weeks GDKPs will start to take over every server
I guess I overlooked all of this during my TBC adventure but coming into Wrath makes me realize that this Classic project is not going to last much longer past Wrath, it won’t even make it to Cata because people are going to thin out slowly due to the obnoxious grind and lack of QoL.
I fully predict Dragonflight will decimate Wrath’s population by half or more, even if it’s a bad expansion it’ll still be better than Classic lol.
I appreciate that ty, I guess the most fun I had so far was getting to 80 in the first place. I loved going back and doing all the quests but man, that end game is just not looking appealing at all.
That and the queues are insane, idk why they don’t just put in cross realm and RDF already but it is what it is I guess. They probably also know this isn’t going to last much longer so they’re probably taking as much money as they can for boosts.
Wrath is far and away the expansion that benefits most from rose-tinted goggles.
The same people crying about how running Mythic+ dungeons over and over to progress was ruining the game were the same people who were perfectly happy to grind Badges and Emblems in Heroics with faceless RDF cohorts for weeks on end in Wrath and say they were having the time of their lives.
For my own part, I went from loving raiding during the Ulduar cycle to hating everyone and everything after 50 wipes a week on H25 Anub to telling ICC to go to hell.
Until they change their stance on how they see pvp wow will stay a dumpster fire.
Honor gains are a complete JOKE at 80 compared to the price of starter gear.
No RDF… I still can’t believe a multi-billion dollar company that can afford the brightest minds in engineering and game making have people who think removing RDF was a good idea.
I actually remember quitting during ToGC back in the day, having to run that 4 times a week was literal hell.
Dude i’m honestly hoping DF will be good, they’re apparently reworking the way PvP iLevels and gains work so i’m hopeful haha.
Like what? Haha, Retail has far more QoL than Classic.
Difference is that we have WoW tokens which regulates the market a lot, gold moves far more freely in Classic due to zero regulation at all. I know plenty of people in TBC that bought gold and none of them got banned once.
The fact that you have to do this for honor is actually sad, do people find this fun??
Don’t say that man that breaks my heart, what happened to the whole “we’re reverting to WoD thing” Ion said
Yessir! Isle of Thunder was a blast, I also loved how every class got really interesting abilities. Druids symbiosis was super cool.
Thankfully I didn’t heal, I was just a DPS. But that burned me out so fast, I remember trying to come back for ICC but it all just the same. I remember the interest for Wrath dropped after ICC though, Ruby Sanctum did nothing for the playerbase cause at that point the hype was dropping.
