What would be the downside of changing M+ timer to count UP instead of down, then attach all those title rewards onto fastest completion/M+ difficulty.
That would allow players to take their time, while still letting competitive people race the timer.
I don’t do high end M+, so I’d need their feedback on why this wouldn’t work.
I like delves, I can run them at my own pace, plan my pulls, stop, take a phone call etc. I never set foot in mythic+, as soon as I saw the word timer, I lost all interest. Go, go, go is not my way of enjoying a game at all.
I’m surprised, M+ means Mythic Plus.
But anyway people want mythic versions of delves. They make threads telling blizz that they need to make more difficult delves on par with the mage tower aka making demands. I’ve seen quite a few threads on this.
They require the Pain-Smiths to bring them absolute joy! (there were another words i wanted to use instead of joy but I’m not sure I can use words related to states of pleasure)
But yea i hope i helped you understand what i meant.
When M+ gave no loot, just cosmetics, NO ONE did them.
See MoP Challenge modes, they had to bribe you all with gear higher than Heroic raiding, and killed off countless guilds in the process just to get you to do it.
M+ should never have given loot.
It’s amazing how you’re all so desperate to force people into content they hate.
Anything that pulls this games heading away from M+ and it’s rampant cannibalizing of other content around it for arcade style gameplay is a good thing.
Everyone likes to say “Go play classic” when they in tears that someone has an opinion about M+…
As M+ continues to burn people, either through burnout or straight up acid-burn them from toxicity and PuG groups…
…delves will continue to shine and become more attractive as a “chill, standalone dungeon” experience.
Most players will drag themselves through unpleasant experiences for the rewards, WoW is pretty much known for this.
There are folks that really do enjoy M+ for what it is, but that’s probably like ~10% - 30% of the entire M+ population lol, and anyone that plays in cliques/groups/guilds is having an entirely different experience.
If I was a game dev for WoW, I’d add something to incentivise good behavior in M+ PuGs, something like the Overwatch honor system- you get a nice cosmetic reward or something, and you can’t honor people you’re duo’d with, it would be for PuGs only.
Remember Perky Pug? Why’d they ever stop adding rewards for PuG play?
Imo, if utilized properly, it could really help groups from disbanding and whatnot.
Maybe you fail the key, but at least you get a nice consolation prize for being there or something.
Yeah its a shame that the e sport mentality is so prevalent. Mythics are intresting to me, but not when the time constraints turn people into jerks.
I do want more difficulty levels out of delves. I hope they reach some sort of par with mythics beyond the 11/12 range where they can be strategic challenges vs timed/clocked ones.
I think the knee-jerk nerfs to t8 were a little much. Early on in the season I felt pretty good about being able to get an 8 down when a lot of the raider guildies were struggling with them. Now i can bring a semi-fresh 80 at 540 gear in and mow them right over .
I hate the sentiment that casual is equivalent to braindead or the need to be beginner level content. As long as they put the challenges up at the higher tiers of delves it really only needs to mean it can be tackled solo/at your own pace. It just takes some creativity on the developer’s part to figure out a way to make things challenging besides tripling the damage and hp or adding a clock an calling it a day.
But I do want the content to take a while to complete (not 4 weeks in an everyone is smashing it due to nerfs like is happening now). I want it to be respectable and feel like a real accomplishment as an alternative to high level keys at high tiers. And if they do it right they can still keep the folks who just want to breeze through it engaged too.
Give me delves themed in like different expansions, like a delve in pandaria or in draenor that would be really cool, I like them it’s something different to do I think they could expand a little bit it’s still new…
I really like the delves. It’s the best solo adventure I have had in WoW. I hope they continue to make more, or at least add more variations. Of course I love getting good loot at the end. I will still play them when I can no longer get better gear. I think Blizz is moving in the right direction with them.
I genuinely enjoy Delves and I would still do them even if they offered lesser rewards.
No hassle trying to actually form a group.
If I mess up, it’s just me. Don’t need to break out U.N. diplomacy tactics to try to keep the group together.
Going at my own pace. Can actually go pee if I need to.
Enjoy the variety in design and mechanics. It’s pretty cool that a single delve has different variations. Fun bouncing on mushrooms, grappling with webs, or the acid trip where you ride a small elephant. Nice exploring and finding a temp buff.
I like that the rewards are also sometimes cosmetics.
