If you don’t pay attention, thing can one shot you.
Do you like M+ or the loot?
Zekvir ?? definitely feels more mechanically intensive than any heroic raid boss or M+ boss I’ve seen in prior expansions.
Never having to touch Mythic+ ever again to progress my character is a rather nice benefit of Delves.
Mythic+ was a mistake. The kinda people that like it strike me as the people that still play league of legends and claim they are still having fun.
Crossing my fingers that Ion doesnt decide to turn Delves into M+ 2.0.
Mythic plus was my jam for a super long time. Delves is just better gameplay, better format, more fun. Some cool or unexpected rewards (just got an offhand weaver thing that also creates a main hand counterpart weapon, which was pretty cool).
I also love the big bad boss random encounter and being able to hunt him down for a nice challenge in his lair.
One aspect of mythic plus that I could usually find was a “favorite” dungeon for any season that I could endlessly run for the 8 weekly required. This season does not have one of those. In fact this season just feels like a stress test. I don’t play to have stress. What’s sad is the stress is primarily driven by other players and not the game itself. So no loss to me to not have to be told L2P if I miss something.
This right here gets to the heart of it. Objectively, do you enjoy the M+ game, or do you endure it because of the prize at the end?
Outside a few dungeons that have come out (which I would endlessly run because they were fun), my answer would have been I endure it for the prizes.
I am finding I enjoy delves, regardless of reward at the end, it’s a fun little encounter and each zone has like 3 versions to mix it up. And I can run by myself at my own pace. Or I can bring someone else, or bring a few.
M+ this season is very stressful, I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone’s starting to lose hair.
I prefer playing Delves instead of being frustrated with M+.
I do delves, mythic + and raid. And ill say I also enjoy delves. If I want to just chill out and worry about myself and game. I can go into a delve and not worry about someone leaving if I make a single mistake. If I am learning a new spec I can select the difficulty that is relevant to my skill level and work my way up, but m+ starts at a shadowlands +12 and only gets harder. I still like m+ when I’m ready to sit down and stress out for a mount and achievements, but its not the most enjoyable form of scaling content.
I can 100% agree with this. The solution isn’t to nerf delves because its intended as end game content for people who never see m+ but m+ should deff give better rewards for how punishing the difficulty feels this expansion.
OP,
Sshhhhhh…before Blizz changes Delves rewards on us!
I wish delves could take a few more pages from diablo. You can have a lot of fun pushing GRs and get satisfying rewards all on your own and on your own time.
I think we are getting there, just need to have rewards scale past 8. Maybe give us gildeds.
Delves is great. I think the structure and reward system is pretty fair when you compare it as a step up from world content. My biggest complaint with Delves is Blizz tuning the system live and Brann’s bad AI.
M+ however is a miserable experience right now. Way too hard for it’s reward table. They need to tone it down a notch.
Same! They’re not too much of a time sink, provide a good challenge which keeps one on their toes!
I’m usually always active during the first 20 or so weeks of an expansion for reputation grinds, but with Delves… Until the Journey is at it’s ends (Delver’s Journey) I’m doing 20 or so a week!
the loot, but even that’s not very appealing to me. I am a one-and-done kind of guy.
You really captured my feelings perfectly too. In regards to both Delves and Mythic+. It’s like Delves really managed to find this sweet spot for me, and with future iterations and themes, I really believe Blizzard have finally found a lasting recipe for a new endgame pillar to include alongside Mythic+ and Raids.
However, Mythic+ just feels like a stress test these days, even at the lower levels. There just feels like there’s no flexibility most keys and idk. Not sure if that’s healthy for the mode long term, guess we’ll see what they decide to do.
Issues is the M+ people keep demanding M+ Delves so soon all will change when blizzard bows to the loud crowd cause “It’s not hard enough it should be more difficult!”
I definitely feel Delves with future themes and iterations can be much more exciting. I’m looking at it as a first attempt / season sort of thing, but I’m hoping the longer they cook, we’ll see much more exciting stuff from them.
Totally unrelated but has anyone ever told you that your character reminds them of Danny Masterson in all of the bad ways?
Lmao…
