Holy pallies using Divine toll while holy locked

It seems really dumb when a holy pally gets kicked and can just divine toll back to full, besides not having to cast and having a 30 second aura mastery, when i locked out a holy pally in a tournament setting at 20% hp, instead of dying he just pressed divine toll and topped himself and we later lost the game and the series… seems pretty troll they can use that while kicked…

i’m pretty sure aura is a 2-3min cd… and yeah it’s lazy game design

Divine favor

divine favor

and ya divine toll being arcane school is pretty troll

yes it’s considered arcane school, not holy, think all kyrian abilities fall under arcane

yeah no don’t compare purgeable divine favor to our 3min aura mastery lol

The problem here is that a pally hardcast something to be kicked on in the first place. All jokes aside, if you purgekick a divine favor heal, they shouldn’t be able to divine toll, but covenants so :man_shrugging:

All healers can do this. It’s just noticeable with hpal because of how strong divine toll is

None of the other healers get an instant heal.

There we go.

this is 100% absolutely ludicrous tbh. I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out what blizz could do about it, but I didn’t know it was arcane school.

That’s a pretty easy fix to allow a tiny bit of counterplay.

I think it costs 1000 mana so its not really free but its not like hpals are struggling with mana either.

Where do you draw the line? They would have to nerf every covenant ability. People can use Nightfae Shift while locked out. Priests can use mindgames etc.

afaik priests 100% cannot use mind games while locked on shadow, and locking them on mind games locks them on shadow.

Kicking on necro fleshcraft locks shadow school.

Kicking on warlock soul rot is nature, and I’d have to check if they can still soulshape while kicked on that. I’ll post back in a few mins.

Pretty sure kicking on convoke also kicks all nature for druids?

Its just quite strange that paladin (whose dmg is pretty much 100% holy, including the actual damage from the divine toll ability itself) gets the class ability slotted as arcane.

Well imo Kyrian covenant would be holy school but idk

Its almost like universal abilities don’t work well in WoW and shouldn’t be enabled in rated gameplay. Who would’ve thought? Oh right…

Yea, i mean just think about it. Wouldn’t it be super strange if (for example) an affliction warlock, whose entire spell school and all damage is 100% shadow, but what if blizz decided that Unstable affliction should now instead be a ‘blood magic’ ability that still does shadow damage?

Its pretty absurd tbh. And back to…

I don’t think the entire board of specs/classes needs to be gutted/nerfed/whatever. I think overall its a pretty good meta, although the lower ranks (esp 2s) are completely ruined by glads selling carries and bads in 215+, getting outplayed and backpedaling while still randomly globaling kids trying to play entry level.

But I think its a very fair assessment that pallies of all specs are overtuned a bit. The nerf to Divine Favor is a solid beginning. I think this small change to call them holy abilities would be another tiny tweak to allow some counterplay (getting kicked, blanket silence by priest/garrote, etc.)

Also shadow resistance aura. Paladins need weaknesses and this talent has to go

Convoke locks Nature which still allows Starsurges, which is whats going to kill you anyways :grimacing:

I actually think Convoke is reasonably in line now. I haven’t had much trouble with them in my bracket, at least. I mean yea I’ve lost to convoke, but often it’s because i’m sitting stun and my teammates fell asleep at the wheel or w/e. I’m usually the one of us that’s on point to lock down the druid when convoke is coming soon.

If anything, it’s probably the mastery double-dipping from the double eclipse on the first soulbind that needs to be brought in line, similar to the nerf that happened to Pelagos mastery.

[edit: But moreso, my suggested change to the magic school for Divine Toll is to provide reasonable consistency in the game as we’ve known it, and also allow an additional small window for counterplay. Its still a super powerful ability on a 60sec cd.]

Problem with wow is when they decided to create new magic school and put cc to different school
