Well you might be a rare one because them looking to change this has been well received just about everywhere.
And then the game will be over, and then the skies will open up and demons will come flying out and then the world will end!
Sorry, but that has to be one of the dumbest arguments I’ve seen on these forums, and that’s saying something. The holiday mounts are only available for a couple weeks per year. No one is going to quit over those few holiday mounts being more accessible.
I mean I do think drop rates need to be increased for gear because of the pitiful drops this expansion but that isn’t this thread lol
nah you misunderstand, I’m making the argument that if you made mogs and mounts guaranteed people would get bored. I don’t give a crap about mounts and mogs so I personally don’t care if they made it 100% drop…I’m just saying that I truly believe people would get bored fast.
who said anyone was going to quit over it? i’m saying that increasing drop rates of mogs and mounts would make collectors bored quicker. (don’t call an argument dumb when you have reading comprehension issues)
Most of us don’t consume content that fast. For me I don’t even level my character in one day. I usually take about three days. And there are close to 1000 mounts in this game. Over 1000 pets. Toys are in the hundreds. Even if everything was given a better drop rate, there is so much.
“Better drop rate” is something I think a lot of people actually wouldn’t mind, but “guaranteed” is a completely different story. They should just make some bad luck protection where a player doesn’t grind endlessly without it dropping. They had this kind of system with legendaries in legion so the infrastructure is already there.
I want a better drop rate, but am not against the way that other games handle their holidays. They make holiday stuff guaranteed and then just keep adding new stuff each year.
Holiday stuff is completely separate from the way normal stuff drops. But even most other games have some kind of bad luck protection even for gear. Because having people farm for stuff sometimes for years is not healthy gameplay. And there are people that do get frustrated and quit.
Im sure you do. I do not suggest its never happened. I didnt see anything in the post you reference that explicitly suggests that its never been done by someone and my verbage was intentionally unspecific for that reason so I apologize for not making it clear that I know some people do that.
To your second…point.
I am simply putting my opinion in here like a lot of others who said the same thing but you didnt qoute them. Echoing what others think. Contributing to a common consensus/perspective. I’m not the only one so I’m not sure I follow you.
No, I am not a rare one. There are plenty of people who are okay with some low drop rate and rare items. Yeah it is going to be well received and when the mount is easy to get it will no longer be seen as “special”. Just like all the other easy to get mounts.
Well then I haven’t seen others like you anywhere but here on the forums. Most are very receptive. On Wowhead, on social media, everywhere. There are maybe one or two that are about feeling like a special snowflake, but they are heavily outnumbered.
There are other ways to feel special in life. Like real world accomplishments. Getting a mount from one of the easiest dungeons isn’t that.
And I’m simply adding that not everyone agrees with the OP, either. As an added support to what you’re saying and to remind others reading this that not all are in agreement with the OP. The “so there’s that,” was meant as a positive comment as in saying, “at least we have that going for us.”
To those who get the Bruto mount and actually want it AND achieve it through in game means yes its something to work towards.
WoW Tokens and carries make it buyable though so its hard to say who truly earned it and who paid for it.
Your clarification is appreciated.
=)
This isn’t about being a special snowflake.
My stance has always been that there is nothing wrong with there being one rare mount out of the 700 to 800 available. It makes the mount special, not me. Well, especially not me because I don’t have it yet.
But you say people with this opinion are special snowflakes? Well I think people that want it changed are entitled crybabies. Works both ways.
Anyways, this debate is pointless. Blizzard wouldn’t have said anything unless they were going to do it. The rocket will be under a new system in 2023 so no point in debating it anymore.
Sorry it was vague! Thanks for asking so that we could clear up the miscommunication.
I think the truly rare ones should be for things that are an actual accomplishment. Holiday mounts aren’t really that. You queue on alts and do something for a few seconds, then relog. It’s luck, it’s not an accomplishment. It’s winning a lottery.
And there is an increasing concern in gaming over FOMO and how it feeds into gaming addiction.
The Insane title is easy to get but that doesn’t make it any less rare because it’s tedious. This mount was no different.
And just because something is tedious doesn’t mean it’s not special.
This mount has been in the game for… 16 years? and it’s not leaving so I don’t think FOMO applies here.
There are a number of guaranteed holiday mounts/toys/cosmetics already.
I definitely want continuous holiday updates.
But I don’t want them updated every year. It’s nice to just sometimes chill when an event comes around because you already have all it’s stuff.
I feel like holiday events should definitely receive updates with every new expansion. I think the best time for these updates are the second running of the event per expansion cycle. Keep things interesting post expansion launch.
