That’s the beauty of things, we can agree to disagree.
Where did I say we couldn’t?
I responded with my opinion. And I also believe Naamah is correct:
I desire them because they look cool. I don’t care about their rarity lol
Maybe what they need to do is a mount transmog. If one of your toons got it, all of your toons can use the look.
It’s honestly kind of disturbing how people want Blizzard to lock everything behind a low drop rate when other MMOs have shown that actually being able to get things on the holidays is… good game design that makes people engaged in the content lol
I do agree with this, I would like to see updated holiday events, additional content and/or rewards. However, I don’t think that necessarily means the removal or adjustment of drop rates for extremely rare items/mounts.
Well those were already adjusted, when were you? When Devs changed it from a spam scenario to a daily lock out for any 14+ character, when were you? When Devs changed it from 14+ to a minimum level for expansion… it only got worse until this point.
What I meant was, you stating something is a holiday mount doesn’t actually mean anything. It’s a holiday mount. There’s nothing about it being a holiday mount that should make it rare or not rare. I said arbitrary because it’s a very arbitrary line to draw rare at “holiday mount.”
I do respect your position that you prefer things to be fun and can see why people wouldn’t like farming it. But in that case, I don’t want this mount to be neutered but instead future rewards be more accessible.
Some items are rarer than others. Both equally fine in their own regard.
I’d rather they just add a variety of drops/rewards instead, all at differing RNG.
Nobody is forcing anyone to get the mount. But the amount of attention/work it gets most certainly points to its great value that people go for to get it. Keep it as is.
OW is chock full of timed and exclusive missable skins. Kidding me? It’s even worse than the WoW mount scene. At least the love rocket is farmable.
Only by players with multiple alts, why don’t you ask for a removal of the daily lock out to bring the same field between all players?
Blizzard can do what they want, it’s their game. Doesn’t change my personal opinion that there’s nothing wrong with having some extremely rare rewards in the game, holiday event related or not.
No, possible to get it on one. Super low chance, no doubt about it, but possible. And it’s perfectly fine to have it that way. Can’t say the same for unobtainable also no response on the exclusivity of OW skins?

Here’s a list of many exclusive OW skins. Most of whom are unavailable. Haven’t played other games you mentioned but quick google searches shows FF does have exclusives. So
Never said I’m against it, point me to a petition I’ll sign it for you
So. Looks like there’s only one solution.
Remove the X-45 as a Holiday Mount. Give “Love Holiday” a new higher drop rated mount and put X-45 on a dungeon boss somewhere with a rare drop rate accessible all the time.
Problem Solved.
You didn’t get my point, i was talking about cosmetics on different games specifically for Holidays, so i don’t see value on reply to that, since the holiday skins are available to any player doing 9 games before and now like 27 points each week for playing the game. Deterministic rewards to play the game each year (Other topic is the FOMO if those are removed after that year but that’s another thing)
Also FF has excluives that are moved to the store or just available that year, if something is available only 1 year like the Tyrael Charger mount that’s a FOMO issue and not the same topic as something that’s still in game but with really low drop and don’t promote a holiday event.
Do it yourself or any of the other players complaining about the possible changes now, i’ll wait for the new scenario, i already mentioned that as possible solution on several comments and also the issues with that solution too.
I will most certainly not spend my time doing that, but since you seem so passionate, thought I’d throw you a bone.
This would only be Ok if the holiday mounts you get from drops hadn’t been obtained in this way in the game for all these years. You can’t ignore the players who obtained the mounts the way they were implemented especially now for example some of them are going on 12 years being in game. It took me 12 years to get the big love rocket mount, but I could’ve gotten it the first year. This is part of the mount’s value. If everyone suddenly got one, the mount would be worthless to a lot of people and it would be a huge insult to those who put in so much work to get it. I’m fine with them making new mounts that somewhat resemble the current ones that are easier to get but I am not Ok with them suddenly just handing out big love rocket mounts to everyone just for participating. Many items in this game retain their value under the circumstance of the rarity of their drop. This attitude of entitlement because you’re frustrated something hasn’t dropped for you yet is not the way to go about this. I have farmed many things in this game that took me days, weeks, months and even years to get and those items still retain the value I have for them the day I got them because of their rarity. If I logged in and suddenly saw everyone riding big love rockets I’d probably quit the game because the direction of it would be clear to me at that point.
I think its fair to ask for a mild bump in drop rate but I don’t want it to be easy either.
Some players spend their time focusing on those hard to obtain things and that’s their end game or preferred experience and making it super easy would take away from those players.
I want the mount but I wouldn’t use it because I’m not big on it aesthetically. Its cool but…eh. As long as the event isn’t something I can run once a day on my account, but across every toon I have, I have a chance at getting it with the alt army if I bothered to do it.
The headless horseman mount and Rivendares Death whatever its called were nice drops too I wasn’t expecting to get.
I think for sure there should be those mounts that are low drop.
However, if new content isn’t added to the events each year, or even at least additional things to work for, then the whole event does lose its significance imo. I don’t look at a lot of the events because my assumption, hopefully false and I’m missing out, is that there isn’t anything really new that I haven’t already done. I don’t want previous years stuff to be unobtainable and am fine with that concept as it relates to seasons and PvP and all of that. There should be some exclusive stuff.
I’d like to see all mounts, where it makes sense, be able to fly. Like Rivendare for example. Spiers will fly soon and that’s great for me but there are a lot of mounts that are ground only that I would love to be able to see used as flying mounts too considering that some similar mounts, Warlock Legions mounts for example…horses…can fly. I can see the other side of that though so if it doesn’t change that’s fine. Not sure what the technical requirements are to make most mounts ground or aerial.
I don’t agree with the second tweet but I think it reflects the frustration of players who have actually been after the mount for several years and I do in the end have to agree that, assuming its accurate, a .3% drop rate is a bit excessive. It isn’t as though it does anything else other than what you see either. Doesnt act as another Hearthstone or port you places or offer any services like vendoring, and its a holiday thing.
Some good points on both sides for sure!
Well said and I can’t disagree with you! Editing this.
I just got the Mad merchant spider mount recently and it would suck to see it thrown on the Shop or have its gold cost nerfed as it took me a long time to get the gold up for it.
It’s a holiday mount and should be an easy to acquire mount. It shouldn’t require people to run an army of mounts just for a very slight chance of ever seeing it.
I sorta agree. The drop rate should definitely be increased. Nobody should have to throw an army of alts at anything in a game.
Just having one toon to do any difficulty of content should be enough to achieve goals.
Your point of view is well understood but…having an alt army isn’t required. You don’t have to do that.
Even with say…15 characters you could STILL not get it for 5 years. Though you would think volume would make it much more obtainable.
I am sure there are people that do this with other mounts too and they probably don’t get the mount despite even that.
