Soaring Spelltome, that’s a true rare mount

Headless Horseman, as well.

Holidays are meant to be fun. I don’t collect cool looking stuff because it’s super rare. I collect cool looking stuff because it’s cool looking and I want to use it.

This isn’t a Challenge Mode or Elite PvP. It’s a holiday mount.

That’s not on the same level as even the four MoP world bosses.

I know that. And this mount is cosmetic and not required (and I know you know that.)

Again, it was one mount out of the 700 to 800 we have now. You know in the next xpac they’re going to continue with this pattern of mount bloat so we’ll probably have close to a thousand available.

Having one be extremely rare was fun to me. It’s the mount collector’s white whale.

Grinning Reaver will be my unique mount

And I like rare stuff. I have very few mounts because of it. This and the tome is the only two mounts I’m proud of.

Arbitrary.

I already did a thread on PTR that tons of mounts is an issue, the unique mounts like the Crab from Nazjatar, Spell tome from Mage Tower, The Craddle from Ardenweald its unique, that should be the meta and they should add dye like the Cats from Mechagon, SL has almost 2 times the amount of mounts from BFA, BFA has like 1.5 the amount of mounts for Legion.

The real unicorn, white whale should be a new unique model mount for the 700 mount achievement, not this kind of rng drop.

And the Brewfest mounts have a good drop rate 3%, which it’s better for players with few characters.

Those mounts have a bad luck mechanic, BMAH.

I don’t think they should necessarily be a guaranteed drop, but if you do the encounter and don’t get the drop, you should get a currency that can be used to buy the damn thing if you gather enough of the currency. You run the encounter 50 times and it doesn’t drop, you should have enough currency from the time spent to buy it outright.

Blizzard gets their metrics and players either have a chance to randomly just get the weiner rocket they want or a clear path on how to acquire if it Lady Luck isn’t on their side. That way, maybe players don’t just give up completely on the events (like I have).

There are far, far far rarer mounts than the heartbreaker.

They need to be like the Pink Love Bird. You should be able to buy them with the holiday currencies.

Rare drops from bosses or old raids? Fine. From a holiday event? I disagree. It turns holidays from fun into frustrating.

Not even sure what that’s supposed to mean.

This thread is unacceptable. And Holiday Mounts should NOT be a guaranteed drop. The whole reason why people still do the event is because they want the mount. God forbid things are extremely rare.

LMAO ummm no. Not one mmo updates their holidays to always be different each year with completely different content. Please make sure though to post this on all the other mmos that “recycle” their holiday events.

Personal/subjective reasons, not necessarily logical or systemic. It being a holiday mount doesn’t really mean much. Perfectly fine to have some holiday mounts be rare.

I disagree with this philosophy, some things should be extremely difficult to get. Makes them special.

Players complaining about changes never provided a solution idea, they just want the same masochism design, you could provide ideas to keep that “rare” meaning for you and improve the game, but you don’t care about the game.

you could ask for a removal of the daily lock out allowing players to spam with one character but usually you are like “don’t change the drop rate” “don’t do this”…

while players that want changes provide multiple solutions… just saying.

Still don’t know what that’s even supposed to mean. I gave an opinion that stated FOMO special stuff should be kept to Challenge Mode PvE and Elite PvP, not a fun holiday event. You responded with “arbitrary,” which made zero sense. And now whatever this random comment is.

Rare is fine. Making the droprate 1% or 2% instead of .03% doesn’t destroy rarity for that time period, it just makes it not impossible for those with only a few characters. Putting that rare one on a vendor the next year so that a new rare one can appear gives variety and more rewards.

Holidays are meant to be fun, not frustrating, not “nyah nyah I have something you don’t!”

Off topic, because the whole “only a few characters to run it” thing… NO ONE should be left out of chances at holiday rewards, just because they don’t have high level alts or they’re new players. That’s some serious bs.

And I disagree that it should be part of fun holiday events that are meant for everyone to enjoy and participate. Gating people and rewards in holiday events is NOT fun.

Hmm would I rather spend the holiday’s with my family or logging onto all of my alts for a chance at winning the lottery.

A 1 to 3 % drop rate should be the minimum for time-sensitive events. Keep the .1 for yearly repeatables

They don’t get it, Devs introduced that Stockholm effect years ago and now they need validation, Holidays on Overwarch are new skins for participation, Dead by Daylight changes its gameplay mechanics a little bit and you can win new cosmetics, FFXIV includes new questlines and boss fights with cosmetic rewards a lot of online game just introduce cosmetics to celebrate the occasion via store and in game gameplay, promoting players to play the game.

WoW has an outdated holiday event with a piñata boss fight. Instead of adding new things on a vendor and provide the currency on special PvP brawls with love is in the air powers and flavour, new Dungeon Affix for a special M+ or dungeon bosses with a new skin, world content like new world quest around azeroth and new questlines.

They only think small…
