No one uses the hawkstrider because they can’t fly. The same reason you never see anyone use the white one despite it being a rare drop
You can’t fly in new zones in this xpac. Again, not even close to a reason.
It’s exactly the reason. Very few people want to use a ground mount unless it has a function like repairs or transmog. Even in non-flying zones you are going to see people using a flying mount because its the one they always use
False. I see plenty of them in the Maw and Korthia and Oribos and all of the end game zones that didn’t have flying.
MTG, pokeman, Stamps, baseball cards.
Every collection activity has commons and rares. And no one cares about the commons. There’s usually a spectrum of rarity and some items will be the extremely rare lottery item.

That second tweet is my exact feelings on this lol. WoW players have a special kind of brain rot where they can’t accept anything unless it has a low drop rate and no one else has it.
I understand wanting to be unique and believe not everything should be freely available but holiday mounts should just be a fun distraction and not a monumental effort to get.

if everyone has one, then its not cool. easily obtainable mounts only have the status of increasing mount collection counts. they go in a stable and never see the light of day. you desire the holiday mounts specifically because they aren’t something everyone has, you probably can’t even name the last 10 mounts you bought from a vendor or got for free, yet everyone knows about ashes, invincible, and mimirons head.

I can understand the OP’s sentiment on this , its a once a year chance to obtain the holiday mount.
I don’t agree it should be a ‘sure thing’ drop… but I Do agree that the percentage rate on the drop chance should be higher than 00.3% (I think I remembered that number correctly, forgive if I mis-remembered) , not so high as to remove the ‘Yayay I got one!’ feeling when you get it… but not so low as it is now … where its a 'I did maximum try’s and never got one …for the third year in a row… bitterness that’s running now.

All mounts that aren’t giant sized like the tree and gronn mounts should be able to fly, imo.

If they hadn’t stopped developing more riding gear (turns out it really was just a nerf to the water strider in disguise), they could’ve given an item like fairy dust or something that lets majority of the mounts fly.

^^^^this. We go through this each and every time. These items are only valuable because they’re rare. People give so much attention because they’re rare. Many who want to nerf it have even admitted in previous threads they just want it, they won’t even use it. And it’s only one mount of hundreds in game which are much simpler to obtain. It’s perfectly fine for this to be the “lotto mount.” If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. It’s meant to be that rare exclusive mount for lucky folks.
And yes, the tree mount is proof that people don’t always (often?) pick mounts because they’re cool, but to show off. If a literally voted coolest mount doesn’t get much use, neither will the common easy to get rocket either. The coolness of the mount shouldn’t be destroyed just because some collectors are bitter they can’t get it for their +1 number.
If anything should be done about the Heartbreaker is add a different color version at store for tokens. Keep the heartbreaker exclusive to the rng.

It’s depressing what they’re doing to the rocket mount.
We had one unicorn out of the 700+, almost 800 available mounts but come 2023 nobody will care about it because Blizzard is probably going to do something dumb like sell it for 500 charms or it’ll be a high drop chance like the Brewfest Ram and Kodo.
Oh well. I’ll just throw it on the pile of mounts that are just +1. Congrats complainers. You won this round.

This whole topic will still be around on the forums but with less impact if Devs never changed the event in first place, the first iteration on which you could spam it with a single character was the best approach for a ratio of really low rng / attempts available.
Still it’s an awful design to play with players addiction like loot box and other mechanics but it was better that the last 10 years of changes for worse, there’s ways to keep it rare like moving the % to a standard between the holidays mounts, WoWhead already show the data for this mount compared to the other and it’s abysmal.
