High world latency big lagg when in raids

Hi all. I am based in Texas and am having the same issue. I closed the Bnet Launcher and it so far has fixed all my lag problems. I reopened it and my MS shot to 600. I closed it and it slowly went back to zero issues. So try closing and keeping the Bnet Launcher closed (AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION).
Hope this helps. Best of luck.

I will test out closing the launcher tomorrow (too late for me here and I am falling asleep). Got a few dungeon runs planned with the guild so that might give some good data.

What all does the lag look like for everyone? Doesn’t feel like normal lag when it happens to me, more like it’s almost dcing me, then it picks back up for a bit, rinse and repeat.

Recorded this today to show other guildies what I was talking about, this is defintely the most extreme it’s been, it’s usually about 1-3 seconds of the “almost dc” every 10-15ish seconds, not 15-20 seconds of almost dc all the damn time. As you can see, no real lag or anything until the moment the boss is pulled, and after the wipe when we rez, everything works smoothly as well, even though it shows 7k+ ms. No delay on summoning/dismissing pet or starting hearth.

Edit: Based out of Ohio btw, through cincinnati bell isp. Saw most of the earlier posters were from texas.

So we made a test change at work today. Where we peer with Equinix in Dallas we took the subnet I am on at home out of the BGP announcement. Things seem smoother network wise, I am now coming in from STL over our Hurricane electric drain. At 6 this evening I logged in and had Home/World latency of 19/20 respectively. Obviously that didn’t hold as the night has gone on now its hanging around 130-140 for both. What really got me was when I did an MTR from the Blizzard looking glass it is 14 hops in and still on IP’s registered to Blizzard.

(Yeah, it looks horrible but it looked fine in the preview window…)

Howdy guys another grande customer from Corpus Christi glad to see others are having this same random world latency spike!

Running BGs today was an absolute no go and didn’t even attempt to raid… plan on calling tomorrow and raising a little hell and hopefully get a decent response instead of a generic “we’re working on it sir “

I would like to report I’m having the same issue.

Hey Faline, I’m also in South Florida and I’m also using BlueStream. I made a separate post about my issue since I figured this was a “Texas” problem thread, but I’ll repost it here.

First, I’ve been experiencing a bunch of lag lately in instances. My world ping goes up to about 150ms. Today it’s up in the 600-1500 range. This has been happening for about a week or so now.

Also for the last week and a half, I cannot access any Blizzard forums in my web browser. I also cannot access the Blizzard Shop on the website (using Firefox or Chrome) or on the Blizzard Launcher. Just blank screens, nothing loads. I also was not able to launch Hearthstone, freezing at the launch double doors screen. I have been intermittently able to connect to that the last day or two, but takes 3-4 tries. When connected, I also cannot access the shop via the button in the hearthstone client.

Here’s the weird part. I’ve been able to access these forums (in order to post this) by adding the SetupVPN extension to Firefox, and setting the locality to the USA (I’m already in the USA). Once I do that, I am able to access Blizzard websites and as you can see, make this post.

I’ve never had this happen before. The only connection I can make is that I recently uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security and starting using Windows Defender, but that was almost a month ago. Everything was working fine for a couple of weeks before this all started.

Please help. The latency is unbearable in instances, and I’d like to play Hearthstone. Oh, I also cannot access Hearthstone on my cell phone (whether using my home ISP, using my wireless cellular connection or even the free wifi at a public courthouse). I’m on a Google Pixel XL. This started a few days ago right around the Rastakhan patch.

What is WinMTR and is there a sticky about how to run a WinMTR test?

this is no bueno…

By the way, i’m Nextlink as well in Weatherford, TX

same issue for me in Missouri since tuesday 12/4, fideility communications being my ISP, never really had an issue with latency outside of this event

Should also add for me this doesn’t happen all the time, prior to the video taken above did a rekill on heroic ghuun, and everything was fine. After ghuun, everyone zoned, reset instance to raid leads lockout (they needed something from first few bosses as they were late the night prior and missed them) and things went to sh!t once taloc was pulled. Prior to boss pull, everything was fine. Earlier that day same thing happened while doing m+ back to back. One dungeon is fine, the next goes to sh!t and there is no warning until the key goes in and a combat is started.

This really needs to get fixed. I can’t do anything in this game at the moment and it’s been that way for over a week.

Went into the game this AM. Ran around, did some crafting… 56/56 ms Home/World. AS SOON AS I WENT TO A WARFRONT: 2-3K latency on World and it REMAINED at that level. So… that’s 3 days of no Warfront/Raiding. CableOne techs say that it’s not in their system and I tend to believe them, since the latency seems to occur at a node in… EUROPE?!? Okay, someone REALLY screwed up or has loaded a bad routing table. Time to play some PoE.

Yea my buddy and me from Louisiana have been getting this randomly the past week. It’s impossible to raid mythic or do M+ with this, and since our guild is pretty small we just have to call raid unfortunately. Hope y’all are able to correct this soon. Feelsbadman

Well, when that many ISPs say it’s not on their end… I see a trend of it pointing to the OTHER end.

Sounds to me like the Raid Instance Shard process is the issue. A/B’s end…? After weeks (I read the forum messages) of saying it’s the ISPs or it’s the users… Personnel issues? Disgruntled workers? It wouldn’t shock me.

Cincinnati Bell…Tried some BG’s this morning. First one lag spike to 4000ms and pretty much hard locked the game. Just as the spike hit started WinMTR and got this.

I tried a suggestion listed a bit earlier in this post about closing the Bnet launcher. That did nothing for me. I tried turning my video setting down to the ground (just on a whim) and that didn’t do anything either. Sat in Stormwind for about 5 mins. The spike slowly went away. Started up another BG. This time nothing. System ran just fine, no spikes. Latency hovered around 100ms both home and world which is normally where my systems sits. Did another WinMTR and got this.

Don’t know what else to do at this point. The only common denominator that I have experienced is my lag spikes start in instances (dungeons and BG’s). Out in the open world I haven’t seen anything or at least nothing that I noticed. Each time the spike started for me is also started as combat was initiated, the spikes didn’t start before. As of now, the game is fairly unplayable for me.
