High world latency big lagg when in raids

I’m on the same ISP (They’re out of Phoenix). I called it in and got a tech who is also a gamer. He said that they were aware, but that it was out of their network and that it just started within the past 2 weeks. When I go into a Warfront, my lag gets exponentially worse as the Warfront progresses. I don’t know what A/B did this time, but they need to get it fixed and pronto.

Here’s your sign. L3 Communications in Dallas.

Finally got a response from Grande Communications. This is what I was told in the email.

Grande Communications customer here, had a few hours of decent connection today for the first time in forever. Unfortunately now it’s back to hanging out in the 100’s again, any updates at all would be great.

Hey everyone,

We are still looking into this issue, if you feel comfortable please hit up your ISP as well sense this is an issue with their peering partner.

If we receive an update from our network team we will make sure to get it posted.

I’ve hit up my ISP (Cableone) they say they can’t do anything. They seem to think its a mis-config at L3 in Dallas. 62ms Home, 8443ms World. Destiny 2 works fine.

Hey Galinedia,

Thanks for the update, and yeah that’s where we are seeing the issue. Some ISP’s peer directly with that group but others don’t. We have it narrowed down and the network team is working on getting things fix.

WinMTR shows the IP addresses ~as57976 as being located in the Netherlands and lists Blizzard as the ISP. Those all occur after the hop to Blizzard in Texas.

Hi, from Florida using Blue Stream and have been having the same issue as everyone else in here. Ran a WinMTR test for ya

Sounds like a L3 router may either have been hacked or misconfigured and is redirecting the traffic to the Netherlands… Just my SWAG…

Going to redo from a different machine

Different hops in the beginning (2nd hop is router and I can’t ping it because #reasons). The insane spikes in latency still are occurring at as57976 .net which, per the IP given in WinMTR, lists Blizz as the ISP.

ALso having trouble with CableOne in Mississippi. UNplayable high world MS in instances and raids. beginning to affect world content.

Just had to cancel my Mythic Tol Dagor run due to world latency of 4000+. Service provider is Cincinnati Bell. No issues with other programs/games. Been getting random spikes for the last two weeks, but tonight was the worst.

In Mississippi as well, same issue.

As much as I hate to say this, I don’t think its Cableone. Maybe a peering issue, but this is the line quality test that I use from DSLreports that usually shows packet loss issues, but its clean:

Test
(From VA, USA)	Loss	Min
Latency	Avg Latency	Max Latency	Pass Fail basic ping

10s of 40 byte packets, 2 per second	0%	42.7ms	45.8ms
55.2ms	pass

low bandwidth stream
10s of 1400 byte packets at 56 kbit	0%	44.4ms	48.3ms
62.0ms	pass
pass
medium bandwidth stream
10s of 512 byte packets ( 128 kbit )	0%	42.7ms	46.1ms
62.9ms	pass
pass
higher bandwidth stream
10s of 1400 byte packets ( 384 kbit )	0%	42.3ms	47.7ms
73.1ms	pass
pass
your first hop ping
stream of 40byte pings to 52.95.219.57	0% loss	12.8ms	You
are 29.4ms
to your first hop	pass
pass

All speed tests run from various sites show normal DL/UL, no jitter and good ping.

WoW’s website “Looking Glass” doesn’t show anything wrong.

Yet, I’m sitting here in raid with 1300 world ping. Out in the world, it seems to be less impactful but it still spikes up into the 3 and 400 ms range.

Maybe its a peering issue for Cableone, but calling tier one support won’t do anything about that.

Nextlink (Texas) here as well. VPN seems to soften to blow slightly out of peak hours. Nothing makes a dent in prime time, though; completely unplayable. I’m not even able to access these forums or any Battle net related page without a VPN out of Texas.

I also am on Rise Broadband but am out of Utah having the same issue. I’ve been removed from my raid group mid progression (which as the main tank is a serious problem) because my latency will be fine, and then jump to over 4k ms and I lag out and wipe the raid.

Same here! I’m in west texas with grande too, and its been laggin out on me during raids since end of last week (like 30th november) its getting very frustrating not only for me but for guild, im our only Lock and H G’huun progression for them is not going well without me.

FYI, just had to leave a BG when my world latency spiked to 5000-6000. After I had to leave Tol Dagor earlier this evening, I did all of the normal stuff (checked drivers, addons, deleted cache, etc.) At the moment that my screen froze in the BG I got this.
