You literally quoted him saying Blood Elves with Blue Eyes aren’t High Elves. His comment, that you quoted, clearly demonstrates that he does not recognize Blood Elves as High Elves. Wow… what the hell is going on in your head?
Void elves (or ren’dorei, “children of the Void” in Thalassian) are a race of Void-infused elves affiliated with the Alliance. Their origins lie with a group of blood elves led by Magister Umbric who were exiled from Silvermoon City because of their research into the Void. They were transformed by void ethereals but rescued by Alleria Windrunner, who had gained mastery of the Void herself on Argus. Permanently transformed by the process, they pledged their loyalty to her and the Alliance and established themselves as the ren’dorei.
Even Ion describe the Void Elves as a Cracked-Elite Squad. Yeah, notice the “squad”, which is usually a small group.
That’s before the recruitment of more elves into the fold. By the end of the expansion the Void Elves fielded armies across Azeroth from Lordaeron to Zandalar and Kul’Tiras. I don’t know how many were recruited, but you don’t field such a large presence of Void Elves without hundreds if not thousands joining under your banner.
If anything this can be used to say that High Elves all became Void Elves who were loyal to Vareesa and the remaining became Sin’dorei. Cringe worthy as that maybe. We know Blizzard is dedicated of not giving us a new race called High Elves, so in this compromise.
We have Ren’dorei High Elf looking models and Sin’dorei High Elf looking models and blue eyes for all! Don’t strain yourself imagining how lorewise this is fair, but just let it go. We won’t have High Elves.
Tell you what since you don’t want to counter any more points I’ll just leave this here
https://wow.gamepedia.com/Void_elf
The void elves are tied to the experiences of two Thalassian elves who came into contact with the void and its power, and whose convergence, kinship, and shared ideals would lead to the birth of the ren’dorei
You’re quoting something that isn’t even cited anywhere.
That doesn’t mean what you think it means - it’s simply stating that Void Elves are based on Alleria’s and Umbric’s experiences. They’re talking about two Thalassian elves, not two types of Thalassian elves.
We really do need a megathread. Lore wise just add High Elf skin textures and eye colors to both Void and Blood Elves and we will be done with this debate.
Because she likes to pull up on the Pro’s, but never pulls up on the Anti’s.
While I do agree to some extent, the problem is, the Void Elves were never really heard off until they became playable. There was no relevance to the faction we also had to grind reputation on in order to unlock them.
It isn’t just the customisations for Void Elves I would like to see, it is a more better lore, not just some “We made this to shut people up”.
