High Elf POSITIVITY Thread 😎

Ignoring the truth doesn’t make it any less truthful.

And repeating a lie doesn’t make any more true, lol

But it’s not a lie. There was an interview that the customizations given to the Belves and Velves are High Elf customizations.

So congrats, you got playable High Elves in Shadowlands. The War is over, you won!

This is not very nice.

We’re supposed to be ashamed of repeating facts?

You’re worried about people being so hot and bothered by stuff the game director said?

But accusing people who like Blood Elves of being “unabashedly fascistic” isn’t inflammatory lol?

Where did I say they didn’t exist?

While in game numbers are not representative, lore states their relative numbers clearly whether it was a panel or not.

Devs still weighed in.

Also drop the portal folk. Only two are SC elves, and they’re there for game mechanic reasons. Nothing more.

SC also has only participated in Dalaran based conflicts. (and recently they’re apparently still involved in the Tournament grounds. Lol)

I think Void Elves with natural skin colors and natural (mostly) hair colors are supposed to be Alliance High Elves recruited into the Void Elf ranks. At least you can pretend they’re High Elves as long as you don’t mind lacking the option for blonde and red hair.

Yep. The High Elf Wayfarers are now perfectly plausible backstory for void elves, both in appearance (aside from hair more or less) and in terms of how Shadowlands has player character backstories structured.

So we do in fact have playable high elves, just ones that followed Alleria’s path and now call themselves void elves.

And for any who want high elves who aren’t void users, just macro abilities with /cancelaura Entropic Embrace, ask for hair, and use your imagination for the story and title.

Fans of Outland Mag’har have to use their imagination to play them through the AU Draenor Mag’har that were given.

Because they’re affiliated with Dalaran, but even in those cases they’ve represented the Alliance. Thunder Isle they were there with the Alliance, and in Suramar they were alliance adjecent, and clearly had enough numbers to be referred to on their own, when Elisande took her time to lecture Vereesa as well as Liadrin and Tyrande. Why exactly should I acccept Ion’s word as fact when he can’t even make sure their ingame numbers match the “scarcity” of their supposed lore population.

It is a Roleplaying game after all. Some Imagination is required.

That’s how I see it.

Following a refined path that Alleria took to become Void Elves, which can explain (maybe) why they have different hair colors and tentacles.

Wish Blizzard would give some lore though.

Which is what I do for all of my 9 or 10 Mag’har except one.

There are non-tentacled hair styles available, in colours that minimize the Voidy look, such as dark blue or dark green. So one can currently use those to represent a more Alleria styled path.

Being able to mix non-Void skin and eyes with tentacle hair is interesting, but as to what it represents, that’s up to our imagination.

I highly doubt they will, and honestly I’m kind of hoping they don’t. I never liked my character’s plot being pigeonholed for me. Shadowlands finally breaks from this tradition, and I like that.

Both events Dalaran representatives. They’re a Dalaran force allied with the Alliance. (that in of itself doesn’t matter much on the whole)

I agree they’ve clearly got plenty of numbers to be a significant force of high elves and thus likely a significant amount of the remaining population.

Like I said though. In game numbers aren’t representative. High elves are still 1% of the remaining population.

If you can’t accept the makers of the game saying something about it… Then you’re working off assumptions and fanfictions.

The only way Renotarshil’s assertion works is if one completely ignores any/all terminological nuance (in other words, by being deceptive).

There is an enormous difference between asserting that the Blood Elves are governed in a fascistic way, and therefore that anybody who agrees with their methods is endorsing fascistic principles, and intentionally obfuscating any/all nuance that exists regarding BE’s/HE’s/VE’s.

The former is simply an exercise in deductive reason, “IF you agree with Mussolini’s policies, THEN you’re probably a Fascist”; the latter is an attempt to whitewash history, with many posters hiding behind a lack of terminological specificity.

I want fel orcs too so my warlock can use the skin, I only request the class locking of shamans. Likewise, I want felblood elves as well.

And I want orc DHs too, I think the Illidari should do the Ebon Blade thing.

Void elves and blood elves have high elf customization. You have your high elves. Quit asking
