High Elf POSITIVITY Thread 😎

I disagree. You’re at worst only one step removed from a high elf.

Rping your human as a dragon (which personally I don’t see much of an issue with) is much different.

Being a lordaeron human when you’re actually playing a Stormwind human is about the same as what we’re getting.

They are high elves.

Not sure which side you’re on…

Yes they are.

Blood elves are still high elves.

Tarrok, I think it might be a bit too early to be all doom and gloom. We still don’t know everything we’re getting. You might be getting some stuff that hasn’t been announced yet that really makes you happy.

I mean, I get it, right now you’re seeing other people get toys and you’re feeling like you’re left out of the party. I’d say just give it a bit more time. Once we see what ends up on the alpha for ALL the races and have a more complete idea about what we’re actually getting, if you’re still unhappy then? Sure go ham on voicing your complaints. I’ll support you in asking for things you want added to your races and faction as a whole.

Just as likely tbh. I do hope they do address the lore issues of High Elves as a group, otherwise, these threads will remain -but let’s be honest, not as much because for a lot of people was just about the look-

As someone that liked WC3 and the original WoW style Horde myself, you know I have a very different take on the current state of the Horde. I do empathize with you feeling so downtrodden, but it’s not my take or experience at all as an horde player. For me, Horde feels more united than alliance now.

It’s just a great big cumulative thing. It’s the utter lack of horde presence in the legion storyline for the most part, the way that Tauren themes get tossed aside to let Alliance NPCs be all awesome. It’s the utter shaming that the writers tried to give me just for daring to play horde in the launch of BFA.

And it’s not so much the race itself, it’s that Blizz rather one sidely favored one side over the other in this decision. “Ok, we’ll give you an eye color, and in exchange we’ll give Alliance the race” I just want for once to look at a blizzard decision that lets me know they get what I want here. I want story back, I want my faction to be able to have stuff of their own, I want to actually have an Alliance that if we do more faction conflict actually feels like a threat to the Horde and not just getting told I’m killing Alliance to help the evil villain feed the whatever the plot point for the next expansion is.

And yeah, I know I’m in the fresh disappointment extra bitter phase, but hey, there’s enough people out there trying to take everything after getting this much that I don’t feel bad moping on the forums. (also in petty, they at least better fix nightborne. If they’re gonna give a ton of stuff to an Alliance AR earlier than planned, hook us up with something too.)

Well I still think you shouldn’t lose hope for good things for the Horde races yet. There’s still a lot of stuff we don’t know about yet and there could be some awesome things just around the corner for you. I hope you get the things you’re after for the Horde races. I know I am quite optimisitc right now for Nightborne customization additions.

Oh, I gave up hope on Blizzard caring about the Tauren as anything but convenient victims long before this happened.

I am all for it, I think this will help balance the factions a little. Just because their were some alliance players that begrudgingly left to horde, because they wanted to be high elves. So I could see some people leave or make alliance characters just for that.

I like that idea. A High Elf Warlock is a weird option. Unless they allow them to have the Helven skin tone but have Voidy looking eyes or something. But trading Warlock for Paladin or even some other appropriate classes is fair enough imo. I’d love to see secondary racials or at least cosmetic changes to the existing ones to make them fit properly.

:frowning:

I can understand that feeling. Keep voicing your dissatisfaction. Hopefully the writers will wake up and start really writing for you in the way you want.

Aye. Plus that would open the door to Wildhammer druids. Remove one or more classes and change the racial they get to something more appropriate (storm hammer) all with a little switch to change you from ironforge Dwarf to Wildhammer.

I realize this is likely a pipe dream but it’s a good idea I think.

Maybe for Wildhammer druids remove Paladins, Mages or Warlocks.

That works. Paladin I think they might still lorewise make sense for but Mage and Warlock yeah. Replace with Druid and bam they’ve got access to what we all kinda imagine them having.

I hope we get this option, especially after the whole N’zoth corruption and visuals, void is just not my thing. Fantasy Magic’s are fine, but when it’s been applied to a whole race vs class, it’s kinda weird. I think voidmancer/void caster class (Shadow priest could be shadow based and not void based again.) would have been appropriate for BFA, and we could have gotten high elves in lieu of void elves.

But In general I think this compromise is fair, and I am excited to see their end product on it.

Perspective of night elves to the Tauren.

Talk to me when Tyrande basically apologizes for resisting Garrosh’s attack in Ashenvale.

Regarding the whole eye convo… I realized how inconsistently Blizzard depicts elven eyes in this game…

The player options (both green, blue and kaldorei eyes) looks totally differently ingame than on cinematics, and totally different than on external media, like the Warbringers short films or the GCI. And even the High Elf new blue eyes look completely different than the ones ingame already (Vereesa, etc).

She basically admitted her humiliation for being a bad tactician in Pandaria. That was gross.

Not discrediting the tauren not getting their fair shake either btw.

Oh gods I’d almost forgotten. I hated that so much. Shes a 10000 year old Military commander… And shes a bad tactician.

Eh, I think the night elves are a bit of a problem for the story (as part of a larger problem with the alliance) because way back in WC3 someone went a little head over heels about the awesome new elves they made up. And now they’re over powered for the rest of the setting so they can’t act at their lore strength without massively outshining the other races.

(also I have a bit of a grudge that may be based on getting chewed up by people I know for daring to think that having “Forestlord and the First Druids” be real was a horrible lore breaking thing because it would infringe on poor, poor, so little utilized Malfurion.)

It’s not like she wasn’t shown as being a bit hot headed prior to that.
