Itās very fitting for an Elf! And I thought it had a GOT influence but with a twist. Iām a big Lannister fan so I always base my names off that family.
Itās really neat that you do that, especially because you are playing a blood elf and there was of course Kaelāthas father, King Anasterian. Almost like you get a double meaning! A two for one deal if you will.
Big same to be honest.
I think now a lot of things will shift to wanting lore to go along with HEs being apart of the VE population, which I donāt think is unwarranted. And that would open up things to asking for classes VEs donāt have that make sense on HEs if HEs now help add to the VE population.
I for one speaking for myself think it was nice, I wasnāt a fan of Blue Eyed BEs but I see this as something decent for both sides.
Still feels rather one sided from where Iām at. Blood elves got an eye color. Which frankly doesnāt really seem like it should have effected the high elf debate in any way. Wooo, blue eyes. So one, or a few eye colors are now not forbidden to a core race in their customization. And apparently in exchange for ALL that, the alliance gets a ton of customizations for an AR that wasnāt even supposed to be getting anything in this first round of add ons since they were just added.
So what does the horde get in exchange? Can the night borne get fixed? or have more than 3 skin tones? Maybe make the HMT/Magāhar actually have something that makes them more than basically being recolors?
Sorry, but still NOT sorry over opposing the hypothetical QuelĀ“thalas Warfront (no people, with the amount of villain batting Horde got itĀ“s obvious Silvermoon would had been lost too, or the Belves would had kept it cause muh God King Blanduin felt pity for them and decided not to let Alleria own it completely or any other ridiculous notion making Belves look like pathetic refugees just like VolĀ“jinĀ“s treatment was in SoO).
The Heritage Armor we got is nice enough and basically can be used with ALL the Belf classes. An update to Silvermoon would had never been done; that costs literally a raid tier.
Aaand the Blood mage is basicvally the current heritage armor without a helm and shoulderless.
I see little reason to mock the antiās. They got their requested blue eyes and we got as close to playable Alliance High Elves as I think weāre going to get barring an entirely new model for them (which I dont think Blizzard is willing to invest the resources into at this point).
If anything I expect the antiās to try and needle the pros with comments along the lines of āyou still donāt have High Elves you have Void Elves!ā while conveniently forgetting that if Blood Elves are High Elves then Void Elves are also High Elves.
Iām grateful for the forthcoming options though, even if Iām a sad that the likelihood of Alliance High Elves as their own race has become much less likely now. If nothing else this new announcement is a true compromise on the High Elf request, especially if they add new lore explaining why and how High Elves are joining the Renādorei and thus why these new options exist.
To be fair, blood elves should have been green as that is what happened to the orcs when they got all fel-jacked. At this point, it is what it is and everyone comes out even ish.
Iām happy to be sure, but not satisfied. Granted this is a brand new story and it COULD be added later or simply not featured. But the LAST thing I need before Iām satisfied is the Blond hair. Once the Blond hair is added to Void Elf customization Iāll officially be done with any and all asks. Blond hair is an Iconic look for High Elves, so for it not to be an option just wouldnāt make them High Elves.
Iām a bit salty for the horde, Iād rather them getting something like Sanālayn cosmetics for belves which would be very cool for them. Blue eyes were just something high elf detractors were pushing, not many belves really wanted blue eyes. Give us Sanālayn cosmetics for belves
I mean Iām not going for either.
My blood elves will stay green/gold, and I donāt have Void Elves unlocked because Iām not going back to Argus. Even Impressive Influence couldnāt get me to do it. Still nice to have the options.
Blizzard being consistent with their own world being for a change doesnāt require something given to the Horde in exchange.
This was a particular elf fantasy that both the Horde and Alliance had a share in. Itās silly to ask for an equivalent addition to the Horde when itād only be arbitrary.
Smells like victory!
Considering you it would have given people 4 Blood Elf themed Armor and Weapon Sets, a Silvermoon Update, likely a Blood Elf themed Mount, and a Warfront the Horde would have actually won you lost more than you supposedly gained.
I was excited to get those as a Blood Elf fan. Now they will likely never happen.
Remember Horde got an upright posture for Orcs. What did Alliance get for that? Nowt.
This is a similar gift.
I think in terms of stuff it opens the door to stuff. Gilgoblins, Undead BEs, to think of two. Both of which would be Horde customizations.
I think weāll see undead BE stuff personally, Iām holding out on that.
LetĀ“s be fair guys. Not only an eye color, but beards for the guys too -and those letĀ“s be fair, were first a Void elf thing in regards to gameplay model-.
Frankly I donĀ“t see the issue (if people is miserable playing on Horde but stays because of a model -making everybody around him miserable too-; then itĀ“s actually better to channel Elsa and Let It Go). The less anti-Belf trolls we get in teh faction making the rest of the players hate on the race, the better I sayā¦
I really donāt care about whatever headcanon you have about fel and blood elves. The green was wearing off and they should be able to have their choice of eye colors like any other race.
Even is not one side having an AR basically get a bunch of the options of one of the other sideās core races in exchange for that core race not having a stupid restriction placed on their eye colors. Alliance got a lot more of this than the horde did.
Blizz being consistent would have left the void elves as void changed, not a copy of blood elves. Or the last expansion not happening the way it did.
I feel Blizz owes me something as a horde player to signify āHey, we recognize you are a consumer as much as Alliance players areā
Iām genuinely happy about this. The story isnāt compromised and people get to enjoy roleplaying high elves.
Still, I thought we werenāt getting AR customizations yet. But here we are. So far only one side is getting one of their ARs spoiled even after they got more work on theirs in the first place.
High Elves have been in the Alliance before Blood Elves were in the Horde. This concession is long, long, long overdue, and youāre not owed anything for Blizzard finally adding the ability to look like one of the Allianceās founding races.
Hopefully shadowlands comes with another sliver of Nāzoth like toy. Because if so I must start purging with my friends for fun.
