Havenāt posted in a while, but just wanted to show my support for High Elves!
Iād absolutely love if this were to happen to be honest.
As much as I love Druids, I do believe Shaman may be a little more likely due to the Highvale High Elves and their relationship with the Wildhammer Dwarves. I hope if High Elves did eventually happen, this pathway was explored more so.
I support playable high elves but Iād flip if they were able to be shamans/druids and blood elves werenātā¦ Iāve wanted blood elf druids since wotlk.
I am open to new lore though and I guess it could be done for both races, idk.
I find it hard to go down that slope since pretty much any race could arguably be any class given that they receive new lore.
I do sort of like the idea of HEs not getting warlock idk it just seems like such Blood Elf / Void Elf class!
Also very much this!!! I think Shaman is something they can finesse in and would / could make sense and fit well with the High Elf narrative and culture!
Could always be a moment to introduce new classes for some races like in Cata when Night Elves got Mage!
This is one of the few things I agree with most of the antis on. It would feel bad to see High Elves getting stuff they have been asking for, for years. Iād personally give them: Warrior, Priest, Paladin, Hunter, Mage, Monk and Death Knight. Iād exclude Rogue and the other darker classes because itās just that; stuff I donāt see High Elves meddling with.
That is definitely true. However, I just wonder how theyād tie the story in to giving High Elves druids.
To be honest, id also like to see some kind of grounds for it within the lore. Iām not sure if āthereās a dream portal over thereā is a good enough excuse imho. I also think it would require a fair bit of work to build a story, which i think in order for it to do justice, that story was developed over a period of time. Or at least that the groundwork of that possibility was laid out early.
With Shamans however, we already know that the Wildhammer have close ties with Shamanism - so them teaching the Highvale in itās ways doesnt feel too much of a stretch. I think its something that may feel like a natural story progression based on the already pre existing relationship.
I think shamanism and druidism for High Elves would be something that differentiates them from the Blood Elves. Thatās part of the reason why Iād to see those options.
I agree! Theyād also be the only Elven race that would be a Shaman too - which would make them unique compared to the others.
For me I would be okay with Shaman going to HEās based off the information I have seen people provide about the Highvale stuff. Iām not knowledgable about how Druids come to beā¦ but seems like they could finesse that to both HEās and BEās if needed.
I would however like to think Warlock retained itself exclusively to the BE and VE groups I think it is very much the mold for a BE / VE class but IF they were to add it to HEās too like for some random reason then I think the BEās should the HEās get access to shaman they too should. If that makes sense. Just my opinion though.
Itās nothing too special I am just in the process of trying to go Holy, still shadow for out in the world stuff eh, but its just the Gladiators Satin set for priest season 1 or 2? You have to go to Area 52 for the pvp vendors anyways idk why but they make you trek the long distance for those lol.
High Elves are neat! Always nice to see them wandering around Stormwind; either as NPCs or as RPers using profile addons while on Night/Void Elves or Humans.
I actually disagree with you here about Rogues. I think itās one of the classes thatās open to all races. I donāt see Rogues being excluded from High Elves.
As far as the models go. The OPās post has some very good pictures for the model ideas. Use the human rig, modify it slightly and there ya go, bobās your uncle, you have High Elves that donāt look like Blood Elves.
I could see warlocks not being a thing for High Elves if they already had an impressive class selection. Blizz did that with Blood Elf warriors in the past
You are correct. Most of the arguments against are the same lame arguments over and over and over again. Which have been countered and countered and countered many times. The Model Argument? Op countered that in the main post with that picture. Population? There are less gnomes and countless other races, not to mention void elves that have less people that the High Elves. āDaddy Ion said so?ā You know how many times devs have said āNoā to something only for it to change a couple of years later. Honestly I really could go on.
This thread though is about positivity. I have seen alot of great artwork about High Elves. Some of it from the Pro HE community, some from just random internet folks. Itās fantastic!
For once, I really liked this thread where people posted their positive wishes and support in here.
It at least shows that it isnāt just regular pro-High Elf players want this to happen. But others who were not vocal about it as much also want to show their positivity too.
iād think almost every kind of surface elf would have a penchant for druidism. maybe the devs need to come up with a new magic class that all elf races can be, thatās a hybrid of druid and mage. maybe bard. hehe
personally, i think itd be cool if half elves were added to alliance as a core race you can select from level 1, without rep grind. theyād have elf ears and elf eyebrows, just not as long or dramatic as full blooded wow elves. theyād be thiccāer than belves but thinner than humans. home city being an instance of dalaran.
