Man, this much headcanon would put Napoleon to shame.
ā¦and we got a whole EXPAC from just one WC3 NPC and his beer keg.
CHEN STORMSTOUT FOR WARCHIEF.
Compromise was void elves
and there you go ignoring the part about them not choosing the blood elf model to represent the farstriders and other militants but instead choosing it based off of those living in silvermoon who make up the majority.
At least they were very different and new lol.
In game lore already states that HE were mistaken for BE. The Warcraft encyclopedia says they are physiologically the same.

āAlthough the only physical difference between blood and high elves is their eye colorā
So then how is it about lore if you are OK with lore unfriendly models?
ā¦which never asked for or even brought to table.
Breifen is right; blizzard and there supporters dont care; just goes ahead does whatever.
a compromise to by definition be a compromise means both sides got some of what they want. Neither side got any of what they want.
We didnāt get the high elf story and background and the anti side saw the alliance get the blood elf model.
Void elves are no compromise. It is like asking for fried chicken and instead of being given fried or even baked chicken you get a hamburger.
You are a customer not a developer. Why should they ask your opinion?
Its clesr what compromise looks like to hou.
Clone of blood elves.
Pass
Thats why they desperately want to call the VEās a compromise, because the devs choosing to not make the VEās the Alliance HEās and making them former BEās instead means they can always come back and add them later.
No plans in the foreseeable future, but eventually the future arrives and we can see it
Yeah you did.
Got the model.
Got the lore of the high elf race.
Just mad at the skin.
Because lore reasons arenāt needed to explain a difference in stance or model. All blood elves have the same model for game reasons, but do you think there is no actual variation in lore? High elves having a model for gameplay reasons that is distinct from blood elves would be perfectly reasonable.
I didnāt get the lore I asked for. I didnāt ask for the model. I only ever asked for the high elves with the story and background they have.
Thats a shame but you cant cater to every individual interest.
Blizzard most certainly can in regards to these races. There is no reason why all variations canāt be playable. Not a single reason at all. We are not demanding they come out with the next patch. Just let us know it is being worked on.
Wouldnāt it have been a better compromise for everyone if we got high elves with their lore but a distinct model so the belf model stayed exclusive to the horde?
So I already liked that BE and HE are the exact same physically and you think having a different model then makes lore sense? Especially sense the biggest and most represented in game group is the Silver Covenant from the magical city of Dalarn where many other in game BE came from?
Yes Iām saying for Gameplay reasons Blizzard could, and would not be bad to do so, change the models to differentiate them.
Well its been fifteen years, and if youāre not willing to bend a little after that long then youāre probably never going to get anything done. This is why the average High elf pro would likely take a compromise of this nature.
While the Void Elves were a compromise in of themselves, the issue is twofold there.
-
They were pulled from Blood Elves instantly making them not the High Elves the players wanted to actually play the story of.
-
and this one compounds the first. The Void influence on them takes away much of the lore that players were interested in. While that lore is the more general elf archer sort of stuff (though not just that but lets be real) it was still a major interest for the average high elf pro.
Again I can only speak to what I have personally observed within their community.
You are willing to compromise on the lore of how they look, but canāt just play a human or VE and make the same compromise?
We went over this. They are still the same race.
I am sure they mulled it over and decided it was a bad idea.
