Which works for main lore figures, not general populations.
Which again has no lore behind it. High Elves live the exact same lives as Blood Elves and until an in game decade ago were living together.
Which Blizzard created an entire lore event around explaining why that happened. Unless Blizzard created something to change existing HE to something else then there is no reason why they would look different. Remember the in game lore that exists is that HE were viewed with distrust because they looked so much like BE.
So the question is are people asking to play HE because of lore or do they just want to play fair skinned elves on Alliance?
Actually the question is why do these models exist? The answer for which is because Blizzard and many in the anti community suggest that High Elves would not be a viable race without looking different than the current Blood Elf model.
While I cannot speak for all pro high elf fans, I can say from my limited experience with them, that the majority of them want to play the High Elves who remained with their long time Alliance allies, and play from that story perspective. The general look and feel while often of import tends to take a back seat to the lore associated with them.
But how they look is based on lore. How can you separate one from the other while still claiming it is about lore? If you donât care about how they look then why is not just play a human or void elf with a Silvermoon Covenant tabard??
The antis argue on a position of âhigh elves never no matter what, unless they are hordeâ
They say that alliance high elves canât happen because the alliance canât have the same model as the horde for their race yet they also say we are not allowed to change the model because they are genetically the same as blood elves meaning to them they have to have the exact same workout routine, posture, and culture.
Alliance high elves are more rugged on the average. Even the city high elves live like human commoners. While sure the blood elves have some who live rugged lives the model chosen to represent them in game doesnât reflect that. High elves are not beholden to the limitations of in game blood elves.
Where does it say High elves were more rugged? They were the same as belfs before the sunwell. And from what Iâve seen theyâre completely opposite of rugged. Iâm not hating just pointing this out.
How they look is not based on anything more than what Blizzard designed them to look like, keeping with a veil of the lore. I.E. Elves look like elves with the pointy ears and lanky more lithe bodies. Again, Blizzard has stated that not every member of a race looks like what you play.
Further in relation to the models in OP, thats still not the question that makes sense to ask. Those models were made specifically to address the calls that High Elves would look too similar to Blood Elves. The community was given a quandary and answered it with those models.
Because they care about the lore. A human is a human, a Void Elf is a Blood Elf turned into a Void Elf. Theyâre not the High Elves players are requesting.
And there is some truth to this. Blood Elves and High Elves are the same race. There is no change. I can see where they have issue with changing the model entirely. I personally think this is not all that important. But again I get where they are coming from.
While I see where you and many others pull this, I cannot say I have ever seen blizzard actually agree.
It depends on the specific group. The lodge in the hinterlands, Quelâdanil, those elves are primarily ranger types and gave up magic. They would be more rugged I would think than the mage types.
If you bothered to read the conversation I already did.
Right now there are existing HE. Right now the lore is that they look INDENTICAL to BE with a different eye color. The lore for those existing HE is that they are from the same groups that became the BE. Look at the Dalaran Silver Covenant vs. Sun Reavers. Both citizens of Dalaran before the split. Why would one look different?
That is my assessment as well, and Blizzard has shown it doesnât need to include all model types like Kul Tirans, so they could very well make the Quelâdanil aesthetic the model.
It is literally impossible to live in the same standards as the casual nobility of silvermoon. They donât have estates. They donât have magic powered servants catering to them. They arenât rich people that have everything they could want.
They live like human commoners. They have to work to put food on their table. Many of the alliance high elves actually live out in lodges so they donât even have the luxury of a city.
This is entirely true, and given the options, You cannot have High Elves and You can have High Elves as long as we change this model, The pros are going to go with the one that lets them have them with some minor changes. Its a compromise from their perspective.
All elfs look alike to me so not the issue here. Calling for you to support why its okay to bring in those other two âelf racesâ that no one ever heard of before and were never even hinted at.
We have many ingame NPC races, some going back as far as WC2 Tide of Darkness. Why not them? Why all these ELFS when we can has OGRES or MOGU or whatever? #SickOfElves
High elves in some remote lodges seems like a far stretch to make them a playable race lore wise imo. But look what they did with void elves, so who knows?
