That could be true, but I did see this on the WoW wiki for blood elves.
“Light purple, likely representing arcane energy, as the raw substance of arcane power is often depicted as violet. They also have a defined iris and white sclera.”
I know it’s an arcane colour. It’s still a purple though and if you’re fine with them giving belves customizations similar to velves you should be okay with the reverse too. lol
I don’t think they should give velves the belf hairstyles but I do think they ought to give them some more variety in the hair colour department.
Their colour options are dreadfully dull atm.
Edit: Oh yeah and the dull faction/faction war thing is waaaaaaaay played out at this point so I don’t particularly care for it either.
I’m not okay with it. It is arcane. Arcane is purple and pink. Void is a deep purple. No where am I stating we should be getting void elf customizations. And this eye color has never once been on void elves. Both races are getting it at the same time as a result of a bug and nothing more. I do not think either race should get more customization ripped directly off the other race. Neither race has had this eye color.
I just took this screenshot off beta. This, in no way shape nor form, is anything void elves have had, have ever had, or were stated to have. It is a customization born from nothing other than a bug that is quite clearly arcane influenced.
But it is not the color, or the customization. If it was the same customization, you would have an argument. You don’t, because it isn’t. Void elves got direct copies of our skin tones. They got direct copies of our faces. They got direct copies of the same eye color that blood elves got, except a bonus pupil-less purple that is obviously void related.
No, we should maintain a difference. It’s not being hypocritical to be factually correct lol. And I have no issue with void elves getting this eye color either. I don’t care. But they shouldn’t get everything we have, nor should we get everything they have.
I actually wouldn’t care about that considering they were blood elves in the lore. That one makes more sense than them randomly sprouting blue eyes. But our hair colors, and other differences should be different and continue to show some kind of faction divide.
You’ve made your stance clear. You do not care about factions. But I do and other people do as well.
And it’s not a double standard because this customization has never once existed. You’re looking for a reason to point out some kind of double standard off of a “similarity” that you yourself admit is nothing more than a similarity.
Void elf playes keep asking for direct copies. I’m all for more options. But there should be differences.
This is what you said. The eye color does not belong to void elves. It has not belonged to anyone. It is a new arcane-related color. Because it has not belonged to anyone means that it doesn’t mean anyone should get anything.
Both races are getting something nice, born from nothing other than a bug. The void elves have received massive customizations during a time where they weren’t supposed to. Other races can afford to take some time as well and get things like the Nightborne, HMT, and LFD.
We’ll agree to disagree then considering this comment isn’t “just talking with me”. Nothing about anything I have said is hypocritical. I don’t care if void elves get new options (though I think other people should come first). I care that they stop getting direct copies of our options and we get nothing in return. Blood elves have been shafted involving new customization options since the beginning.
