High Elf NPC Eye Change?

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but the Female High Elf NPCs used to always have a deep sapphire blue eye tint. But now they seem to have a more violet iris with a white pupil, and the deep sapphire is the border of the iris. But the sclera is now lavender. Making their eyes definitely look more arcane in my opinion. While the males still have their iconic slightly aqua leaning Robin’s Egg colored eyes.

Has anyone else noticed this difference, or am I just being crazy? I mean, I definitely think it helps add to the potential immersion of Void Elf players making High Elves with the Void inspired Lavender eye option. But did the female High Elves always have this eye color?

Yes, that was confirmed a bug and now in SL both velves and belves are getting the purple eyes as customization.

Wait, Blood Elves are getting a purple eye option now too? I thought the purple was only going to get a Void Elf thing, as they got the purple with the pre-patch customizations, but Blood Elves didn’t.

Yeah belves are getting purple eyes. Guess blizz figured they would complain if they didn’t.

You’re not crazy, I remember what you’re talking about.

I was pretty disappointed that we didn’t get that version of the blue eyes because I think it looks a lot better.

How weird, I mean more options are never a bad thing though. Do you know if they’ve said anything then on Void Elves getting regular hair colors or ear options by chance?

None of that. People are asking though.

Can’t you stop expecting blizzard to give you everything blood elves get?

It’s already bad enough that a core race’s customizations seem to now depend on an allied race.

Big oof, that kind of sucks. But hopefully if they’re gonna add the purple eye options to Belves, that they give those options to Void Elves. If for no other reason then to prevent complaining, but like at this point they’re basically the same minus a few differences, like green eyes or Void skin transformation. Like honestly I’m surprised they haven’t even just handed Paladins to Void Elves because of it all, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they eventually did.

Edit:

You do realize that the Purple eyes Blood Elves are getting were originally just a Void Elf thing, because of VOID/Shadow being their thing.

Then a bug made these new eyes, and the Blood Elves complained for purple. Also they ripped off a facial hair from Void Elves.

Let’s also not forget that Void Elves are literally lore just Blood and High Elves with a butt ton of Void Energy. Like Alleria. The only difference they should have is Green Eyes/Purple Eyes. After all, Blood Elves even have Blue hair too.

So maybe quit your ignorant negativity over a video game, that makes no since given the lore of the game anyhow?

They aren’t the exact same look as the current glitch ones however.
Here are the upcoming new ones:

Those are gorgeous!

Slightly peeved Blood Elves get the eye color, if for no other reason then the Horde throws a fit anytime Void Elves get a customization that they were OG intended to have, or that makes sense for the lore to help incorporate High Elves. Lol

Why? It represents the Arcane, which Blood Elves are masters of.

They weren’t intended for High Elves. They were a glitch.

Purple has always been a color representing of arcane in WoW, that’s why the Kirin Tor has it as the main color for their crest and banners.

The Sunwell it’s half arcane.

And it’s also a color that’s been requested from long before Void Elves even entered the picture.

We’re all hoping Allied races get more stuff later. Nightborne and velves most likely will get ear options. The rest, who knows.

No void paladins.

Yeah, these are new. IMO they should’ve given the glitch to belves and this one to velves because this looks voidy and it would’ve made them a bit different.

“masters” is a generous term. Nightborne are the true masters, belves are like, arcane hobbyists.

I mean, in regards to hair and skin colors. Void Elves were originally meant to be High Elves with a Worgen like Void Effect Form. According to Ion.

Edit:

And alliance High Elves have been requested since before Blood Elves became a thing with the Horde. So again your negativity on if Void Elves get any kind of customization or classes or what have you. Is at this point hypocritical and mute.

I could be wrong here, but I thought they said that was only one of the considerations, not a hard plan. And as far as we know, the “normal form” could’ve been the blue skinned form, and the “void form” could’ve been the Entropic Embrace form we got.

If I got this wrong, someone please correct me.

I wish both’d get both. I like how the new ones, with their more defined sclera, actually work for a less glowly look, while also looking more Voidy when paired with Void skins. Very versatile imo.

They look great. Can’t wait to use them on my Blood Elf Arcane Mage!

My Blood Elf Mage is Fire, so I’m keeping the gold on her. I want to use the new eyes, but I’m not sure who on yet.

Now if only we can get some red eyes and some Dark Ranger customization to go with them!

I’ll have to try and find the link, there was a YouTube Interview from a Blizzcon about it. They went the direction they did due to fairness on the Alliance having multiple races with multiple forms.

Same. Honestly I feel like there is so many good options that they could give to Blood and Void Elves, like Ranger tattoos, Arcane Runes like the BC box art, etc.

Only a few things make sense to separate, like Yellow and Green Eyes make more sense for Blood Elves only. Where as technically even Paladin could work for Void Elves and they could keep them from getting the Blue Skins if they chose Paladin. Since they’ve already said the skin tones are supposed to help represent High Elves.

Which to be fair, I’m not advocating for Void Elf paladins. I’m just saying it makes little since at this point to not have the vast majority of options even hair styles shared by both.

Edit:

Do we know if males will also be getting this color?
