Unfortunately, the OP of this thread set the tone when he personally attacked everyone who disagreed with him in the first few pages.
Hi again, days later. Back to insulting others? I see some of your threads got hidden above. People aren’t very happy with you.
Many on the pro-side see the forest for the trees. All indications point to the devs shifting focus away from allied races for derivative races and towards adding customization options to core races (or to Void Elves in the case of making High Elves) so that derivative races can be portrayed that way.
This has benefits beyond just answering calls for derivatives. Specifically it concentrates the pool of customization options on fewer races rather than spreading the options very thin between a ton of derivative races.
I anticipate that any future allied races will be their own race like the Vulpera, even if they use an existing race’s rig. While Vulpera clearly use the Goblin rig, they are not Goblins and goblin customization wouldn’t make sense for them. They are not derivative like High Mountain, Void Elves, Lightforged, Nightborne, Mag’har and Dark Irons are.
The Zandalari and Kul Tirans technically qualify as derivative in the sense that one is a Troll variant and the other is a Human variant, but their rigs differ so much from their parent races, that it might be more challenging to share much customization between the two. I’m not entirely certain there.
Trying to push for an allied race that was already unlikely to happen before all this customization came about, is probably an even worst investment of time and effort now that customization options are the focus and that High Elf customization is already slated to arrive very soon via Void Elves. The choice basically comes down to “ask for an allied race that is even less likely to happen now and have a high probability of getting nothing”, or “ask for the customizations necessary to fulfill the racial fantasy you’re looking for and have a fair shot at getting them”.
I have decided to go with the latter option.
Yes they is. They same race look identical. It’s science. I dont need blonde hair or skintans just more void corrupts.
Why is it only the people who are the most obvious of snowflakes the ones who use the term snowflake?
coming from a kul tiran male wearing a gimp suit
Unrelated, but I love the Frozen reference.
A frost DK named Sven with horns and a harness… LOL. I’m dead.
this person clearly didn’t get the reference…
I disagree.
(Statement): It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation.
(Commentary): You’ll either have people going, “SEE?! Blizzard bends over backwards for these people and they’re STILL not satisfied until baby gets what baby wants!” Or, you’ll have people doing what they’re doing right now. “OMG they’re trying to take the Void out of Void Elves! Stop trying to ruin a good race with your obsession!”
That’s well within your rights, but I kinda unloaded a wall of text there. So what exactly do you disagree with?
-
That the devs are shifting focus towards customizations for core races (and Void Elves) to make derivative races rather than making them as allied races?
-
That concentrating the pool of customization instead of spreading them thin is a benefit?
-
That future allied races are likely to be their own thing rather than a derivative of an existing race?
-
That pushing for an Alliance High Elf allied race is at its lowest point of likelihood and far being a good investment of time and effort?
Knowing all of the above, and the fact that Void Elves are going to be getting whatever High Elf customization might have gone to this hypothetical High Elf allied race, I think my decision is the correct one.
You can get a Vanilla looking High Elf by using the Nelf model. They have normal looking skin tones and a reddish hair option. You will just have to use some sort of elixir with a shrinking effect. Any of the shrinking Darkmoon fair elixirs will do, as well as a few doses of pygmy oil.
Blizz created a mess with void elves, originally stating they were a crack squad. What they should have done is had high elves with void customization options or done something completely different and avoided this mess. Since they are already in this deep, they might as well just go all in.
Exacttly…
They only created mess when they givd blood elf skin tans for void elf because of you people. What do people who actually like void elf and want more void corruption option get?
Don’t think most folk are lookin for that though.
Probably plenty when they actually get to an AR pass.
You just ignore the fact that no AR got anything relating to additional customization for their theme this run. At least nothing major like you’re asking for.
I’m sure they’ll have plenty down the line. Everyone can be happy.
Heck, one of my requests for High Elf customization also inversely adds Void themed customization.
Turning the hair tentacles into a toggle like the Night Elf hair leaves not only gives the potential to remove unwanted tentacles from the Void Elf hairstyles that currently have them… it also has the potential to ADD tentacles to any existing or future hairstyles that don’t come with tentacles by default!
Everyone can indeed be happy!
The decoupling of tentacles from the Void Elf hairstyles also makes it easier to share them with Blood Elves (and possibly other races) without issue.
Might as will be playing blood elf and not void elf. You pretend the option dont exist but i wont pretend. EVER.
And yet you conveniently left off the other half of that quote:
it also has the potential to ADD tentacles to any existing or future hairstyles that don’t come with tentacles by default!
Does that not add more Void themed options by allow you to have tentacles on any hairstyle current and future?
I think you need to try seeing things without your bias lens.
Nico there is talking about adding a feature that will allow you to put tentacles on the four remaining hairstyles that do not have them for females alone. I know there are a few male hair styles that do not have tentacles as well so theres some added there too.
Again, everyone can get what they want. We don’t have to be against one another.
anything elf related on the forums is like trying to walk through fire without getting burned (get it bc the nelfs got burned)
I did not come here to be attacked like this.
