Ah, I just figured that “sunwell transmogs” was referring to those sets.
Personally, I think you should break up each group and have an “all” section because it feels a bit weird for some groups to be an appendix on an idea for another race.
That said since this started in BFA datamining I’ve been gathering suggestions so here’s some compiled list.
Void Elves
Void Elves are currently in a unique spot with recent High Elf/Dark Ranger themed additions, but they did not receive anything new related to the Void theme yet.
The best path going forward would be to add more Void Themed options, as well as adding things to differentiate them more from Blood Elves.
Void Elf Suggestions
Markings/Corruption
- Tattoos/Markings like Alleria. (Both her Void and Non Void forms.)
- Darker Void Infused Skin/Eye Colors.
- Entropic Embrace customizations.
- Scars/Void Marks.
Tentacles/Hair
- Add Tentacles for all haircuts that don’t have the option to toggle them on.
- More Void Inspired hair colors/effects.
- The ability to change Tentacle Colors.
- More hair styles, preferably some that are more managed/styled and less messy looking, and made with the Tentacle Toggle in mind.

Blood Elves
Blood Elves have not gotten a lot of new options that are unique to them. Most new options where shared with Void Elves. Leaving Blood Elves, especially the males, lacking in many distinct and meaningful options.
The jewelry is limited, their hair is very outdated by today’s game standards, and they have not gotten scars despite having almost be wiped out by the scourge, and the Runic Tattoos that are on the TBC box art have been a request since Blood Elves addition to the game.
Blood Elf Suggestions
Subrace Options
- Additional Dark Ranger Options. (Dark Ranger Eye Makeup, Darker Undead Skins)
- San’layn Themed Options. (Fangs, Batlike Ears, Claws, ect.)
- Felblood Elf Themed Options. (Fel Tainted Skin and Potentially Horns/Claws.)
Markings/Scars
- Rune Tattoos like the Burning Crusade Box Art and Magister Rommath.
- Phoenix Tattoos like the Farstrider Hanzo Skin for HotS.
- Scars/Burns and Damaged Ears.
- Makeup/Warpaint Options. Including Dark Ranger inspired designs.
Jewelry Improvements/Fixes
- Allow males to use Jewelry.
- More Metal and Gem colors for Jewelry. (Including Darker and more ‘Goth’ options.)
- More Jewelry Types. (Chokers, Metal Feathers/Feathers and Eye/Nose/Lip Piercings, Etc.)
- Fix the bracelets so they aren’t pixelated.
Hair
- Separate the Tiaras/Headbands from specific hairstyles.
- Add Large and Fancy Hair/Beard/Mustache Styles.
- More Gothic/Grunge hairstyles.
- Eyebrow Size options.

There are also the high elves of the Allerian stronghold, they should return to their leader Alleria.
Ideally they would get Rune Tattoos that you can pick whatever color you like for Fel/Light/Arcane/Blood ect.
Really hoping we get an explanation on what those things are when Alleria gets her new look.
The only explanation that makes sense is they where Lordaeron Alliance High Elves who became Scourge and stayed with the Forsaken because they did not feel welcomed in the Alliance/Silvermoon.
But it’s really Blizzard being Blizzard.
This still bugs me.
Why where they not the source of Void Elves?!
It was right there Blizzard! RIGHT THERE!!!
They where in outland for decades! They where willing to follow Alleria on a suicide mission!
They would have been perfect to try and follow her in Void Exploration!

Thank you. I agree with you; the thread needs some restructuring as it has branched out a lot since its inception.
Appreciate these lists!!
Don’t forget Auric <high elf representative>, he could be important for the high elf allied race or to unite HE/VE (customizations).
I’m still female.
Right! My mistake, very sorry!
Wow. Look at you actually supporting high elves now. How times have changed. What caused you to give a care for high elves these days?
To be fair I was only ever directly against it for about a month. Mostly due to me being childishly angry at some folk. I regret that time. The rest of the time I’ve mostly just been wanting Void Elves not to get buried or arguing little lore tidbits that people get wrong either because WoW’s lore is a cobweb of hard to figure enigmas or they were intentionally trying to get it wrong to make their sides look good. I still supported and believed that folk should ask for what they want, high elf or otherwise.
In fact I asked many times for someone to make a thread like this, and considered doing so a lot back then. I just didn’t feel I’d have been a good mouthpiece for it back then. I figured I’d get buried by everyone at the time.
Nowadays things have calmed a lot and I’m on fairly good terms with most folk.
Ultimately player choice and options is a good thing. And over time I’ve been convinced by several conversations that what I view as a Void Elf (or High Elf or even Blood Elf) isn’t the only version of those things that should be valid. I was poor at accepting differing ideas and concepts and explaining that I was ok with that.
Despite what folk believe, I was only an anti for about that month.
Kinda what I said above, I’ve always liked them just fine. Alleria was my favorite character in WCII, I was sad when she was still missing in TBC, I made my Blood Elf because for me that was the high elf storyline, but I also always thought it would be cool to see them on the Alliance side too. When Void Elves came out I was ecstatic! The Void was my favorite power in the World of Warcraft and I’d also finally get my thalassian on the Alliance? Sign me the heck up!
Awhile back as well the Legacy of the Quel’Dorei Discord was resetting up its systems and wanted to try to have a bit of a recruiting run. They asked me to setup a forum thread and I saw the opportunity to finally make the High Elf thread I’d been hoping would get made.
I already had the Void Elf and Blood Elf threads and making a new High Elf thread along those lines would be awesome and maaybe lessen the spamming of threads all the time.
Win for the Discord, Win for High elves, Win for me and my desire to make customization threads.
In short, aside from one month and my interest in High Elves specifically over Void Elves waning and waxing over time, I’ve never been directly opposed to them becoming a thing.
I apologize for those who felt I was entirely against them. I was poor (and still sometimes am) at ensuring my beliefs were easy to read and understand.
Hm. Well haven’t you changed a lot. More mature I would say. But I guess we’ve all grown a little. I was on a long hiatus away from wow and so I’ve also changed and no longer wish to fight with people nor put down what they desire. I know people will still do so to me but over time I’ve learned it is just completely wasteful of my time and energy. Not only that but it gets no one anywhere. It neither helps me or my cause and merely puts out more hate and malice into the subject matter. I have faith that in time what I desire will come, and in the mean time I will go after my wants in a peaceful and respectful manner. Kindness and understanding is the way to the heart after all. You will get more people to understand you through civil discourse than through whining, miserable savagery. It’s something I’ve come to understand now. I’m grateful you actually responded. I thought for a moment you may have blocked me from our prior fights but I am looking to move past all of that now.
What I would like to see from the High Elves or just Thalassian Elves in General is have their very own starting zone, capital city, faction reputation, and more. I recently played the Turtle WoW High Elf Starting Zone and I started to think man I wish Blizzard would seriously do Northern Lordaeron as a Starting Zone close to Plaguelands and Quel’thalas for the Void/High Elves to have their very own zone with unique dark and void elements with spring and summer landscrape like Quel’thalas but different, better Elven City with a harbor bay and much more.
Plus the whole Allied Race System of being at level 10 is kind of boring. I wanted to play a High Elf/Void Elf at level 1 and do what the game originally was. The Epic Journey of experiencing the World. That’s something that is seriously lacking in Retail World of Warcraft today and I hope the Allied Race System gets reworked into something better than extremely rushed and dull starting zones for the Allied Races.
Some. We’re all learning as things go on. I know I never came to the forums with the intent to cause anyone any harm or step on anyone’s toes. Learning how to communicate well with so many differing viewpoints and mentalities is a process.
I couldn’t agree more. I’m so tired of the fighting and yeah you get so many more things done by productively engaging rather than trying to fight over it.
For me either the things I’d like to see will be or they wont. Its a game, with pixels and I will enjoy whatever we get and just pretend for my own stories for the things we don’t.
I’m glad you asked actually! Its important to be able to explain such things and account for ones self.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find I did have you on ignore at some point but I also often remove everyone from my ignore lists. I use it only to keep some distance with people whom I have trouble not arguing with rather than shutting out folk forever.
I think as a general rule I’d like to see every AR (and honestly even some of the customization sub-races) get their own homes and starting zones. I’d also like to have reputations for them all just for fun, or maybe for some cosmetic rewards.
I don’t know we’ll ever get that but it would be really neat.
I kinda agree with much of this. I would love to have my AR’s start at level 1 go through a little starting zone and get some lore and characterizations for each race that way. I think a lot of that would help players to have an understanding of the general feel of a race.
I’ll use Void Elves as an example. (The voidy ones mind).
If we started at Telogrus Rift at level 1 and went through a questline through each of the islands the practical upshot of that would be that there would be a lot of explanation lore and more buildings and more to do with Void Elves. We’d probably have an explanation showing new void elves getting made and even see Allerian and Umbrician style setups. It would be glorious as a setup for the race for people to see, experience and then have a foundation for their elf to work off of.
I don’t know how they’d do it for customization given sub-races, Man’ari and High Elves(if they don’t do an AR in Midnight or something), Wildhammer and various troll tribes…
Maybe they could give you a choice of starting zone when you select that race. The original starting zone, Exiles Reach and then the sub races starting zone.
That would be really cool.
I’m really curious on what they mean by unititng the tribes tbh
Blood Elves obviously are kind of united with Nightborne due to the marraige between their leaders. And Void Elves will probably come help defend the Sunwell so maybe their former society will welcome them back or at least be friendlier with them afterwards. Neutral and Alliance High Elves probably too. I’m wondering where the Night Elves fit into it though. Amirdrassil is much closer to Quel’thalas than Teldrassil was, and they have positive history with the High Elves and also the Nightborne
But also I feel like it’s kind of random to have all Elf races magically be together, notably the Kaldorei. But having Nightborne in there and not Night Elves also feels odd
I wonder if they are setting up some kind of new Elven faction/alliance for post-world revamp or something, although I doubt they would ever do one gameplay-wise considering the bulk of players would be on it with how popular Elves are lol
WOWOW we really need those eye colors in your first reply! They look SO GOOD I really really need some eyes with white scleras like that! That is what looks truly High Elven!
Also I would love some eye makeup/eye warpaint options like Alleria’s old and War Within model!
Thanks for working to bring that thread to the Devs directly! <33
For all of you who celebrate this holiday season: Happy Holidays!
Not a whole lot has happened for High Elves this year but we did see a whole lot of npcs for blood and high elves throughout the isles!
Not only that but Midnight promises to be an excellent opportunity for high elves and Thalassians in general!
I’m quite thrilled to see what’s next and hope you’ll all continue to join me in supporting more options for high elves!
For the Legacy of the Quel’dorei!
Not really. Many claim that the story only became bad with Cataclysm or later with WoD, then briefly improved in Legion before plummeting again from BFA onwards. But fundamentally, TBC already turned a lot upside down.
In Warcraft III, Tyrande wasn’t hostile to the then-called High Elves. She even provided a proper escort to Kael’thas. Maiev was the only one mentioned as having an issue with it. The later inclusion of Night Elf NPCs in Quel’thalas in TBC to observe the Blood Elves is nonsense, among other things in that expansion.
Similarly forced was Tyrande’s dislike for the Nightborne after leading the charge to liberate Suramar. Unfortunately, this is Blizzard’s terrible way of distorting characters to uphold the artificial racial division in the game.
If Tyrande is portrayed more openly in Midnight, it would only be a return to her origins.
The problem with this is it’s stating we’d get along well if things didn’t happen that did in lore. Tyrande now has every reason to hate us. We didn’t hold up our end of the olive branch she extended to Kael. We burned her city and all the civilians in it that did not survive.
And ever since WoW they seem to have made Tyrande xenophobic. She really distrusts anyone, even if they came from a different caste of her own people.
I don’t know if they should do a reset on characters. I don’t think ignoring lore does it justice. They did that so much with other things. Including Belameth (until lately they seem to be closing off more to the Horde on the PTR).
It should be a long road for her to trust us again. And should take a good reason for us to trust Void Elves in our city again. Not just a we suddenly are good.
That’s what I mean though. Like I think logically Tyrande would have been more open to the Nightborne and they should have been neutral from the start. But the choices Blizz made for her and then the Horde’s actions at Teldrassil makes it seem odd
Although I suppose they are trying to completely resolve/180 all of that with Amidrassil and letting Horde in the city after they defended it so it will work fine now, and we will have gone through both Dragonflight and War Within as a “team” before Midnight launches
I was extremely annoyed and angered that I just wasted all of that time with the Nightborne knowing that they would go to the Horde Side because of that ridiculous lore conflict with Tyrande being openly hostile to the Nightborne and the Nightborne came to a conclusion that all of the races of the Alliance is bad as the Night Elves and closed off and judging.
Even to this very day I’m still not happy with that. It’s same bad lore as the Purge of Dalaran, Burning of Teldrassil, Killing Arthas’s Soul, and etc.
