i think they gave dark rangers to void elves because they were former belfs. and some belfs were dark rangers. remember void elves are circa legion expac and belf dark rangers had already been a thing since wrath

I always forget about the Dark Rangers.
They are just another subrace for the Alliance. It’s hilarious to see, that the Void Elves are basically the golden standard for the elf model.
- High Elf
- Blood Elf
- Dark Ranger
- Void Elf
They can customize and transmog themselves into everything. And with the Sunwell transmogs and the new heritage armor-based flying mount they can also cosplay Blood Elves.

well not exactly since belfs were all of that first and also demon hunters and male dracthyr. velfs cant be either of those. in fact, velfs are belf
I don’t think the ones that studied the void were ever Dark Rangers. The ones that ended up that were still Dark Rangers. The ones that followed the void were followers of Umbric who was a follower of Dar’khan. Just a different group of elves altogether.
But what it did give Velves was grey skin and red eyes which fit void aesthetic (even though Azshara and old god eyes when?), so it doesn’t matter.
It’s water under the bridge. They just need to build on things to give both groups unique things.

Oh, did void elves also get the red eyes? I thought it was only night elves and blood elves who got that. Somehow that completely passed me by.
It doesn’t make much sense to me. Blood and void elves should have shared their hairstyles instead, but blood elf Dark Rangers on the Alliance side… well… Blizzard has been doing whatever they want for a few years now. So whatever 
Agreed. Belves should get Felbood/San’layn stuff and some Belf specfic runic tats and sunwell/light tatoos so you can really choose how you want your Belf to look visually
Velves should get more Voidy options like new eyes like Xal’atath, voidy tatoos, voidy ombre hair effects like new Alleria has, and they should get Alleria style High Elf tattoo options and eye makeup like her new blue eyeshadow/tattoos
That would go a long way to keeping both races more distinct
Alliance High Elf allied race and San’layn Horde Allied Race would definitely be awesome!

Sunwell transmogs?
Feathers for the hair would be cool too. Actually I’ve been wishing for that for Night Elves for years. I mean, especially for Night Elves, owl feathers, and such are iconic. It’s a real shame they don’t have them yet.
But it would certainly suit High Elves as well. As a counterpart, for example, more jewelry options for Blood Elves.

Please no. The last options were so gaudy. I’d like tattoos, face paint and scars. Lots of things in phoenix and fel themes.

Jewelry for the body is kind of pointless when you wear something over it. I was thinking more along the lines of hair, ears, hands and wrists. Things that would be visible through the armor.

Yes! We need more adornments/jewelry/accessories in general! Feathers, horns, crystals, whatever. Those type of things make such a big visual impact

We already have things for ears and wrists and hands.
I’d rather have the things we’ve requested in our customization thread. How we don’t have runic tattoos when the Belf on the cover of the TBC case has one is beyond me.

There are several color variants and versions that arent class restricted so I think it’s possible for any class/armor type to have a mog set out of there.

I think shes suggesting that with Midnight we’ll have access to a new bunch of Blood Elf transmogs and such.
Though I think we’ll get all flavors of Elf if they’re uniting the tribes.

I’d love a way to represent not just the SC with a high elf AR/customization options but also the Highvale.
They have an arguable variation on high elven culture with their dropping of the arcane for nature magics and their closer ties with the Wildhammer.

Amen for this! I see the non-voidy high elves of the Alliance in multiple representations:
- Silver Covenant (Dalaran)
- Theramore (High elves that followed Jaina)
- Quel’Danil Lodge (Praise be for the Quel’Danil neighbors of the Aerie!)
- Former Silvermoon (Perhaps in Midnight something with the Ruins of Silvermoon?)
I would love to see each represented. The one tabard we have for the Silver Covenant is severely outdated and it is literally the only tabard we have to represent us in RP. It would be great to be updated and also branch out into other aspects of the Alliance Quel’dorei.

In a similar vein we could see the blood elves get a farstrider, magisters, an updated blood knight tabard. Maybe even San’layn and Felblood.
