High Elf Customization Thread (Legacy of the Quel'Dorei)

At this point it’s never happening. No Ogres, and no High Elves. We get dumb rock dwarves.

All of this.

Pretty much how I feel these days.

This too, though, I’m not upset by the idea of another thalassian race.

If they go the Sub race system and rehash how it all goes though that would be amazing!

Keep up hope my friend.

Ogres are still the most requested Horde race. Blizzard will see reason. Check out Bagzak’s thread and show support! Might help!

heres my thoughts, copied from another thread

lol i know, and thats the worst part. here we were asking for alliance high elves, the goody two shoe type, who didnt do the whole fel thing, stayed true to their allies on alliance, and are all snooty about it, and instead, the devs give us even crazier horde blood elves. its like they hated their own playerbase. they did give us thalassians but they made sure there was not one thing we asked for, our rationale for wantinhg them -

non traitors, nope, here have double traitors,
sane and rationale , nope, here have crazy voidies,
traditional high elves, nope, here have these avant garde tentacled greasy people with receeding hairlines and dark circles under their eyes.
non addicts, nope, double addicts

it was just dripping with animosity. i can picture them all around the dev table and ion says, alliance wants playable high elves. sly grin. a substantial raise to the person who can take the blood elf model and make it hideous, perhaps something void related. go now . giggling commences

My take is that my Ren’dorei uses magic and alchemy to keep his old skin tone (to fit in easier in the Alliance), when he was Quel’dorei as he didn’t take the Sin’dorei exile all that well.

Not to mention that his skin had reddened when he was Sin’dorei due to excessive consumption of Fel as he trusted his Prince. After the whole TBC thing he got off Fel addiction after seeing what happened to those that consumed too much. Then he turned purple when he became Ren’dorei as he was searching for a new magic source for his people.

He still turns purple in a fight, as he cannot suppress it when his adrenaline is high.

Course, like Alleria even suppressing it won’t work as eventually he’ll just turn purple as he has no intention of stopping his Void usage and study.

its a head scratcher, for sure. they look pretty cool and nothing will top how weird mechagnomes look. and i hAve 3 of them. lol why they didnt just go with uldaur mechas is another head scratcher. i guess they didnt want to make mech clothes

i apologize for any flack you take as regards this topic. just know people who want helfs, are appreciative. thank you :sparkling_heart:

I think it was just a continuation of their philosophy on elves that they didn’t want them to be like Tolkien elves.

Realistically, the best thing to do with folks who come into this thread with prior beef or biases (be it against the creator, or against High Elves in general) is ignore them and keep the thread on track.

This is a place to request the inclusion of High Elves in whatever form (be it as their own race, as additional options for Void Elves that get shared with Blood Elves, as a sort of ‘toggle’ of some sort for both of them, etc), as well as discuss ideas for customization options for them and share our wants and desires among each other and to Blizzard.

This isn’t a place to argue for the thousandth time about “but we already have High Elves!” or whatever other things tend to get thrown around.

and i would agree that was the likely rationale if not for the 180 they did with blood elves, who went from bitter, manipulative and cruel, to sunny, stoic high elves. then they took blood elves at their worst, painted them blue, slapped some tentacles and greasy hair on them and said, here ya go alliance, enjoy. haha. jokers

some of the options in the void elf thread would be good for helfs, too, such as

Thank you.

I was wrong I think to engage earlier and will be going this route going forward. Fully agree.

Blood Elves are still not like Tolkien elves and always need to feed. We just have the well. There was no well to feed off of in Tolkien lore. And that well is coming under danger again.

but its not from living creatures, its from the ley lines, like tapping into an electrical line if you were an electrical device. its more tolkien than the og blood elves, lets say. more galadriel and less vampirella.

That doesn’t matter what we feed from. We are still mana addicted elves. And some still feed from fel, some feed from blood magic. And we don’t tap from leylines. That’s Nightborne.

doesnt the sunwell act as a ley line outlet?

No. It’s just the well. That’s why Helves still have to come to it. If it worked like a leyline they could tap from somewhere else.

oh i thought it radiated to all who have the ability to absorb it, like sunrays absorbed via photosynthesis. coulda sworn someone said you could benefit from it, even if on another planet. i assumed the pilgrimage was just a tradition

Blizzard has made it clear they don’t care about “redundancy.”
As exemplified:

Edit: If we can have more ugly dwarves, we can have more elves. Sorry, not sorry.

Honestly I would LOVE the far top right on the first image, and the far top left and bottom middle on the second, so much. :dracthyr_cry: Something Void Elves are desperately missing that their Blood Elf cousins (and both Night Elves and Nightborne) have is just… straight hair, lmao.

Just some nice, simple straight hair of varying lengths would make me incredibly happy to have for High Elves. Wavy and curly hair is great, braids are great!! But sometimes you just want something simple, y’know?

aye, and that super long braid is cool too. and a simple, top of the head bun, would be nice. here let me go get my mechagnome and show ya what i mean…brb
