excellent mog!
Thanks! I built her as a Highvale Elf. Though I keep going back and forth on if shes actually a Silver Covenant elf.
i will have to helf up, too, in honor of this thread. i was just so happy to finally get this helm, i instantly mogged it. its from a stupidly long venthyr grind on the mirror network. all i lack now is the shoulders. but helf is on the way. \
btw your legs and tabard with the cocoa skin and pearly hair is beautiful and the lavender eyes just finish it off.
Unneeded.
I’m already perfect.
My own misgivings about you aside, your mog is amazing. General look actually is really nice.
Out of curiosity, I notice you use a gun? You have a story for your elf using that or just because? (Only ask cause…well y’know. Elves and bows are a big thing so its notable.)
I consider it as favoring the new over the old.
I’m not Quel’dorei, as that part died when we became Sin’dorei as proclaimed by our former Prince.
I’m not Sin’dorei as I became Ren’dorei, all to aid our people. My reward was exile.
So, I reject the old ways in favor of more modern thinking. A gun represents that as it is far more powerful and modern than an simple bow seeped in outdated thinking.
That, and Bow and bow strings clips a lot during attack animation and Blizzard refuses to give us more quivers.
I will say that your mog gives off the look of a Ren’dorei Prophet who has fully embraced what it means to be Ren’dorei.
Fen showing his true colors.
And from peer pressure no less (i read that post saying there should be a thread for this)
Not enough that blood/void elves has the customizations for high elves eh? So we should waste a race slot for a 3rd identical race now without giving anything up?
No surprises here.
It will never be enough until the Quel’dorei of the Alliance get representation.
We have 3 dwarves.
All of which is different.
2 of the elf races is now identical all apprarance-wise, except maybe hair styles. Why do we need another exact replica when wild hammers/ sand trolls does not get the same treatment?
What do supporters of playable high elves think of the argument that if they are made available as an allied race, that the ability to change between allied races should be made free or available in the barber shop.
Fact is, high elves have been the most requested race since the beginning of the game. Fact is, most people who wanted them upon seeing the release of void elves resigned ourselves to the fact that we weren’t getting high elves soon or ever and that void elves were Blizz’s spit in our eyes compromise to giving people the ability to play high-elven bodied elves on Alliance. Fact is, many of us despite the back-handed nature of this, and especially after void elves were given normal skin tones and hair colors spent large sums of money on race and faction changes to move our blood elves from Horde to Alliance to live out our high elf fantasies.
Point is, we, having paid already, we having been denied so long should not be double-dipped. The ability to move from a character being a void elf to a high elf should be at no additional real world cost given the fraught history, the long fights for it, and the bitter fact void elves were not wanted and a spiteful thing to do to the community and we only got high elf skin and hair colors because subscriptions plummeted to their lowest levels ever in an act of pure desperation on Blizzard’s part.
What I’m saying is, we should get nice things like this not because they’re desperate but because we’re owed them after the long road to this point. As a sign that Blizzard has changed, is different, is apologetic for the many years of spiting player wishes and is not just adding such a thing long after the fact and the ship has sailed as a cash grab from the long-suffering high elf community.
End allied races as a concept. Merge all races to their base races and allow free customization for nothing more than gold in-game at the barber shop. I’d even go so far as to say it would be extra nice (but by no means required) if they allowed blood elf characters to also freely switch to becoming high elves in this manner.
Huh? But there is a few AR’s that is unique. Vulpera being the big one. Would be odd to roll them to goblins.
Same colors as before. I’ve always been in support of more options for folk, and I’ve always held that people have the right to ask for what they want.
Now did I always feel that we needed another of the same model? Nah, and honestly I don’t really now either. But with TWW giving us a literal copy of dwarves I see no reason that Blizzard might not do High Elves… again.
And I had already been asked by the High Elf discord to work up a thread for something they were cooking up, had my own Void Elf and Blood Elf threads… I see no reason not to complete the set.
Technically I was commissioned actually. Despite everything I actually enjoy making these sorts of threads. I already had all the high elf stuff sitting around, I’ve seen everything they’ve been requesting… Even back when I first made the Void Elf thread I literally pushed the High Elf side to make a thread on this level. I’ve always supported such a thing. Just ended up, if you want something done right… you do it yourself. lol
If you’d read at all at the top you’d know that this thread is actually based around the concept that these options would be added to the Void and Blood elves. The parts talking about an Allied Race are in reference to the potential for Blizzard to make High Elves the allied race in Midnight, since they were willing to do the same exact story of our existent Dwarves as the Allied Race for TWW.
Honestly if any of ya’ll ever listened to what I was saying you’d be a lot less confused about me overall.
Instead you all spread lies, rumors, ignored what I said, and just carried on with your little wars. lol
The only difference between Ironforge Dwarves and Dark Irons is they created a fire motif that didn’t exist before hand and they have a different skin tone.
I could easily see them change up the High Elf design, or any races design, to do the same sort of general changes…
I don’t think they will… I think they’ll add this all to Void and Blood Elves. But its good to have information for Blizzard to peruse for what the community interested in such things might want if they choose to do an AR.
This would be kinda cool.
Honestly if they do the sub race system this would be a very good thing to have going on.
Why the hostility?
Really?
That you inflamed behind closed doors? dude who is lying here? Certainly not me.
Cool, cause that is what I’m refering to. thanks for trying to political talk out of it.
Sure…
And
You already have a void elf thread talking about customizations. Don’t get greedy.
Nope, you always wanted VE to be your HE, you just hid it pretty well, when it became more socially accepted, you pushed it more on VE, this thread is no different.
What? Do you know anything about dark irons? At all?
Yeah, but we are well passed it now, thanks to you and your buds.
Strictly saying, I think BE should get those and VE be placed in a different angle.
How do you treat a back-stabber? With respect?
How is he a “back-stabber”?
Yes.
Political talk? Whats up with you these days?
I assumed you hadn’t read, like several other folk who just saw a high elf thread and went off, cause if you had read you’d know what the thread is about and wouldn’t have gone on the attack so quickly.
I have a Void Elf thread, Blood Elf thread, Furbolg thread, Kul’tiran thread and a Mechagnome thread.
I have several threads. The Third post of this thread can get you to all of em if you’d like to take a look.
I’ve had my high elf since TBC. Literally came back to the game for Void Elves. Right now I can be a high elf on either side easily enough… so I’m not pressed myself.
Exactly where did my void elf thread push high elf stuff by the way? I’ve always ended up linking it into the void aspects even with those who go with the natural tones.
Yeah I do. I had a Dark Iron long before it was cool. lol (made my first one in Cata.)
But uh yeah… What about their people is any different than what I said? They’re dwarves with fire on their beards, slightly adjusted tattoos, and shale type skin.
Before hand they were just Ironforge dwarves with a grey skin tone setup and different eyes. You can still go look at em at Blackrock Mountain.
Blizzard just did this with the Earthen, man… I don’t know what to tell ya.
Which you’re welcome to think.
Personally I think that Blizzard, assuming they do any of this at all, will probably do it for both. Easy way to make the most people happy, they did the same with Darkfallen and it just seems to be the way they go about things right now.
If Blizzard doesn’t then thats fine.
This is one of the reasons I disagreed originally with the whole Helves as an AR, the general…‘Blizz owes us for not liking what we get in their game/story’ sentiment and the assumption that the Devs are sitting back pointing and laughing saying 'This will really spite those Helfers!". Attitudes like that were/somewhat still are rampant on the subject and honestly its needless drama and pearl clutching.
First of all the introduction of Blood Elves for whatever reason (to give ‘pretty’ to the Horde, etc) storywise they fit. As far as I can remember, the Helves became Belves back in Warcraft so yeah. The inclusion of the Helves as NPC’s was story driven to give a foil to the Belves.
And again the Void Elves, okay not the best option but it gave them a story for Alleria to return. I don’t see it as the point and laugh ‘hehe they are gonna hate this’ attitude or the ‘screw the helfers’ sentiment. At best it was a desperate attempt with them saying ‘hope they’ll like them’.
Either way both races had a story reason to be put in just like the Lightforged, Dark Irons, etc. Maybe not the best option but it is an option which they expanded on with the new skin/hair colors. Honestly I like the general look of my Velf in normal skin/hair color than I do my Belves. But that’s just me. So what if she turns blue in battle? I rarely even notice and it doesn’t affect her in RP so who cares? At least I can play a Thalassian elf on the Alliance.
I think the best thing Blizz could do at this point is make ALL options available to Velf/Belf and definitely take some suggestions from the mock ups players have made but again, available across the board to both races. Create a toggle to turn off entropic embrace for those who don’t want it as well as give both an option to change the title from Belf/Velf to Helf if the player wishes. But do not waste an AR on another flavor of Elf, its unneeded. Also while they are at it, add half elf as an option. As I said in another post, do recolors in silver/blue or velf colors for the heritage armors Belves have, heck while they’re at it, recolors of the Velf set in blue/silver, and red/gold would rock. But get off this beaten to a bloody pulp horse of ‘You owe us!, Spit in our face!’, and all the other rhetoric that only makes people see Pro Helfers as whiny, greedy, self important little snowflakes that feel their way is the only way. You are owed nothing.
Oh! You go with the like literal void elf design?
Very nice.
Did yours just not go blue or did they find a way to undo the blue?
I like this honestly. One of my trolls has a similar mentality.
Yeeeaaah. I don’t often equip shoulders on my rangers cause of this… And we need so many more quivers.
Thank you! That’s… Literally what I’m going for.
Im totally with you on this.
Its absolutely not owed in the slightest and the idea that it is annoys me to no end.
And that attitude did turn me against high elves.
But then the other side of the fence also have those with extremist attitudes who loathe void elves because “blood elves are the only true high elves”.
And they annoy me to no end and make me want more high elf stuff for the alliance.
In the end, ive settled on a nice middle ground where i listen to what i want, and what i want alone.
And what i want… is my void elf just as he is… maybe with a nice beard down the line.
If people want to request other stuff, thats cool by me.
Although i think a third thalassian elf is pretty redundant and so id rather see the customisation go to void elves instead of a new clone race.
Or change the way races are handled so you get to pick the title of your race from the appropriate options (like saying your dwarf is a wildhammer or your blood elf is San’layn or whatever)
So long as my character stays the way he is, the extremists are just noise.
