High Elf compromise

They moved away and call themselves high elves still. If I became a citizen of another country trump wouldn’t be my president anymore.

Still elves are they not?

Not like they race changed.

An american living in france. Trump is STILL his president.

Edit: unless they give up their citizenship of america of course. But can high elves give up being elves?

Give humans to Horde. Let’s say the Defias joined up and still pissed off at the crown for having being scammed.

They gave up being citizens of quel’thalas. They did not adopt the name blood elves. And of course they are still elves, moving doesn’t change a person’s race. They just aren’t part of the kingdom of blood elves, so there’s no reason to call them blood elves.

By your logic, they are not high elves either then.

They gave up citizenship of quel’thalas.

To be clear, i agree silver covenant is alliance. But saying high elves and blood elves are different is ridiculus.

Edit: those orcs in upper blackrock spire are still called “orcs” are they not?

Considering in the game, they are recognized as 2 different groups and factions?

It is shown. Blood Elves are known as Blood Elves or Sin’dorei. Not High Elves or Quel’dorei.

Now i didn’t say they are the same group or faction did i?

They are the same race, having different political view. You wouldn’t say those supporting the ruling party and the ones supporting the opposition party as “different” race now do we?

So do we call 1 group humans and the other group “pretend i gave a clever name”?

Edit: missed out this part. The way i see it. Sindorei is the race. Quedorei is the regnegade faction.

And nobody is arguing that. The fact is, we have had High Elves within the Alliance, participating within the Alliance story, and being part of the Alliance since Vanilla. It is all people been asking for, but it is, “It is going to effect my game play.”

You are arguing?

If you are a Blood Elf and you are referring to the greater group you might neglect to say high elf. If you are an Alliance high elf you would call yourself a High Elf. We are neither of those thing, and as a third party (you know, a real life human - not Human) we would refer to the greater group as high elves.

And generalizing them does complicate things. Which of these groups are you asking for? The Exiles, the Silver Covenant, the Scryers, high elves living in Stormwind… One of them isn’t even with the Alliance. It doesn’t really support this whole “we want them for the lore” bit. It seems like you just want them with a human centric story. Which really isn’t a high elf story.

this not a comparable thing because, again, ogres are not alliance.

To make HE playable in the alliance, one alliance race would need to go horde and nobody wants that, well im sure some HE fanboys would give all the alliance races just to get the HE, but the point is no one want the factions swamping races, blurring the factions, messing up with their fantasy and history, no, its bad.

because night elves, as most elves, are piece of crap, they didn’t stand the mere presence of orcs in azshara/ashenvale, and start killing then, they lose, and had to run for the alliance to get revenge.

That is also a lie, it is explained so many times that this is not true, that i don’t know how those affirmations exist to this very day

it doesn’t matter what they call themselves or what they consider themselves, they are still the same race

it
doesn’t
f
matter

Are you seeing they(blizzard) putting “playable groups” or “playable races”?

They did ''allied races" or "allied groups"?

come on, this isn’t rocket science.

I’ll give you that. I just can’t think of any race from alliance that is lore friendly enough to join the horde.

This maybe?

Yes. This is the reason i am against alliance high elves. I couldn’t have explained it in words better myself.

It’s also about wanting to keep the factions distinct. If Bliz wants to tear open the game and let everyone play everything anywhere, that’s another conversation.

what they want is a return to WCs past. everyone else understands the high elf story moved on but they wont accept it

this is an attempt at gaslighting. there are only a few high elves left in the alliance, but they try to make it sound like theres way more and that is the basis of their hopes. that people dont know better and will just bandwagon to their cause. yet the lore and developers reflect the anti view and nothing in game or out supports their view :woman_shrugging:

It moved on to a high elf centric high elf story. Often the antagonists are even high elves.

The only way to have this end once and for all is to have the silver covenant become void elves.

You’ve got two High Elf options. Blood Elf and Void Elf.

Both on opposite factions.

A compromise has been reached, as a fan of both races I personally don’t want to see the Void Elf aesthetic ruined by high elf fans who don’t like it.

which is unfounded because there is an unlimited amount of “slots”
