Not to Blizzard it didnât, to them they felt Void elves were an adequate compromise for high elves, while providing something new, and interesting to the Alliance.

sadly this stuff happens on any thread that mentions a high elf. Op is already flagged⌠and the thread is going to get so many flags throughout it that the terrible forum software will autolock the thread.

See, your talking about specific requests that were asked for before âNew customizationâ options became something Blizzard was bringing to the table for Shadowlands. These requests started during Legion. Getting hung up on those specific details is not something you should be doing, and now realizing that those options are not exclusive to Only Blood Elves. Those options were also being used to target the High Elven Request thread because people wanted to shut down the request and leave no possible avenue to ask for them, believing there isnât also lore supporting them as well. Much to their futile attempts. These requests were also made by us to avoid stepping on the toes of Blood Elves as a means to differentiate them, and even that proved to be an issue since Blood Elves must be entitled to everything pertaining to High Elves, no matter what!.. So it goes both ways.
The only problem with trying to make them playable is the fact that Blood Elf players feel all things High Elven is theirs and thatâs all, there can be no strands in any direction without their say so⌠This is not the case and will never be. If Blizzard wants to make them, they will.
It is your opinion, and you have a right to it. I simply disagree with you and you wonât convince me otherwise. What it says is that I wish to play an Alliance Quelâdorei that has no ties to the Blood Elves on their path to redemption other then being Exiled by them, opposed to them coming to Dalaran, Purging them after Blowing up our people in Theramore, fighting them along the Isles of Thunder, and providing shields for our Airship against their magics on the battlefield of Arathi Basin.
You have a say in what your interest are, of course. You donât have a say in what we choose to ask for. And while right now you can have the Devs support you interest, it doesnât stop the fact that they requested the playerbase ideas on allied races, which is what we are providing.

so if you want to play normal toned high elves, they are available on the horde. if you want to play a high elf that is on the alliance, the void elf variant has you covered
if you want to play a high elf on the alliance thats not only identical to a blood elf(which is a high elf) but is thematically and conceptually identical too? seriously, thats just tough cookies for you. i cant play any alliance races unmodified on the horde either

They really needed Paladins though at the very least. Also maybe to not be blood elves but instead be High Elves. It wouldnât have been that big or hard a difference. Blizzard made a bad compromise overall.

its so new and interesting i cant do the following things that you can do:
i cant be a paladin.
i cant be a demon hunter.
and things you cant do either, were also denied me, so
i cant be a druid
i cant be a shaman
i also can only be grey, purple or blue.
you can be all the shades of human skin, plus demonhunter skins
you get tattooes, i do not.
youâre getting jewelry. i am not.
you have like 10 more hairstyles, 8 more hair colors and 8 more skin colors, than i do. and thats before shadowlands
you gotta just marvel at it all.

They donât know what we are even asking for if they thought void tainted blood elves would be the solution. And still, it wasnât stated explicitly as a compromise.

So you and all those others are just saying I want to play hot pretty blood elves but I wanna be alliance been hearing that since B.C. only like 10% of the high elf supporters want them because they actually like them lore wise the rest just want them because they are still salty the horde got blood elves instead and want to play them but refuse cus they donât wanna play horde. Boy I hope blood elves get those blue eyes soon then once and for all the stupid high elf thing will be done forâŚ
Well, just before saying that he says âBlood elves⌠kinda are High elves.â so really that was their intention when they were creating them. Blizzard has just always seen the two groups as one in the same.

If you dont want to play Horde, then you really shouldnât be playing the game. Anyone who mains and only stays in the alliance has no taste and no imagination.

We know how he sees it. Its just, thats not how the majority of Pro High Elf folk see it. Its also not really the story theyâre looking for. Void Elves could have supplied that story much better than they do now, again with a couple simple changes.
Adding Paladin somehow
Making them be High Elves gathered by Alleria, maybe even throw in the SC.
and I think Iâve been hearing folk want the Demon Hunter too but that seems a stretch to me.
My point is, whatever Blizzard was thinking, this as a compromise, kinda sucks for what was being asked for.
Whether what was being asked for makes sense, is fair, or anything else.

It wonât be done for. High elves are more than just blue eyes. Also I play blood elves too, as well as some of the other horde races. I only havenât this expac because I hate sylvanas and nathanos and not having the option to shoot them right after they burned the tree turned me off of playing my horde characters.
