High Elf compromise

Void elves are blood elves who were high elves. One day blizz will just kill off the silver covenant. Blizz gave void elves as a compromise… and were crapped on as a result.

I think you misconstrued my intentions. It is not mine, nor our place to bargain at all with Blood Elf players, for they have no means of giving nor allowing what we desire. We state what we want to the Devs and only the Devs, because they not only asked us to do so, but they’re the only ones capable of making them happen.

While I understand that the High Elves fantasy was meant to be played out by the Blood Elves for their introduction, they simply do not fill that fantasy in it’s entirety. They have their own story and path they have taken, and those whom have been Exiled have taken a separate path. The fantasy has been dissected into other groups (or clans) and play separate roles within the world. Rolling a Blood Elf doesn’t fulfill my desires because it is not what I wish to play, nor will it ever be. I specifically want to play an Elf of the Silver Covenant, one that’s never left the Alliance, and one that has never been called a Blood Elf. That’s my fantasy.

Sounds like you don’t have an argument, must suck. Know what really sucks? The looming possibility that Blizzard will cave to High elf demands and give Alliance another flavor of elf instead of something actually interesting. I don’t even want high elves, but not including them was stupid.

And yet it’s not going to happen for the exact same reasons we list for ally high elves.

Does anyone have a quote from blizzard saying that void elves were meant as a compromise?

Does that mean if I change my IRL name, I will no longer be myself?

People who bring this up don’t seem to truly want them anyway. I haven’t seen threads for it.

and there it is. pros dont care about faction integrity. humans are the heart of the alliance… :pensive:

Damn sparky, put the drink down. Foisting your delusions on blizz?

We get blue eyes right after devs say we will and tell alliance to play horde if they want to play a high elf is “looming possibility of caving?” LOL?

every guy knows, if he has a lick of sense, not to come between a lady and her beauty regimen but blizz sure did it. in fact, they laced the face cream with permanent blue dye and demanded the local barbershop not let us remove it. its …like…a. nightmare. haha

So, can we say the same thing about Void Elves since these Void Infused Blood Elves also “name changed”.

Name change versus getting cosmically changed by a fundamental power of the cosmos. I don’t know about you but writing my name differently isn’t on the same level as having my DNA rewritten by HP lovecraft goo.

I care about faction integrity. I don’t want to work with the people that burned Teldrassil. But that just applies to the specific people that took part in it and continued to follow sylvanas after. I am not going to go to moonglade though and start shooting tauren and troll druids just because some tauren and trolls are horde.

It’d be the same for Defias humans. If they helped burn down Teldrassil I’d kill them too with zero qualms even though I’m allied with other humans.

Oh right, so you’re ignoring the part of the Blood Elf lore also of the magical changes caused from using demonic magic to keep there city together, plus the Holy magic within the Sunwell effecting the Blood Elves who are infused or connected to the Holy magic as well.

For one, you’re presuming my argument. I’d be okay with Syndicate joining the Horde like in WC2, if they were still around to begin with. But also yes, Forsaken are just playable humans on Horde, and should also get Human models to be playable.

If we’re going with the argument that Blood elves are still High elves, then Void elves are still High elves. So the Alliance did get High elves. They could have just given them the High elves people wanted, but they wanted to obstinate about it.

Blood Elves are High Elves with a different name.

Void Elves are Blood Elves that are renamed High Elves.

Void Elves also went through a ritual that changed them into the purple void selves that they are.

Blood Elves that are High elves has fel change their eye color. The Sunwell was restored with Holy/Arcane and their eyes changed to reflect that. Thus the golden eyes and soon to be blue eyes.

oh wow you just gave me an idea for how to customize void elves. . hair with stars in it. sparkling stars… /gazes off then reality floods back in. oh crap, i just gave the devs an idea for belfs and nightborne customs.
/clamps hand over mouth…err puts fingers on vacation

Just gonna put this out there, but have you considered how much the other cosmically fundamental power is gonna change Blood Elves down the road? It has already shown to be just as corruptive as the void. Just fruit for thought really.

Exactly. It’s already happened.

Yeah. They were pretty adamant about not giving the opposite faction an exact cut and paste of a race that already exists.
