High Elf compromise

Based comment, about time someone else said it

The high elves that never adopted the name blood elves are not in fact blood elves, and are alliance.

The high elves that didn’t adopt the name blood elves or only a handful, they are too few to be a playable race.

The funny thing is, Blood Elves are essentially a neutral race now. But the High Elves are still not playable (on either faction).

Right, but that doesn’t matter since high elves are PLAYABLE ALREADY.

Unless we’re just gunna add every little group that doesn’t agree politically. Need to add humans/etc to the Horde now, too. /etc.

That’s not how it works.

yeah, i can. not gonna discuss the name here but you can be a wood elf, a high elf, a dark elf, and a half elf. but they dont have factions where you cant play one without selecting that faction. you can even group with each other, though you may not be able to go into each others cities.

like a dark elf is kos in a high elf city and a high elf is kos in a dark elf city. oddly though, you can get rep so you can go in their city but then you can no longer go in your own city . lol

anyway, been wanting playable high elves in wow when i didnt even know the lore, knew nothing about kael’thas or the frozen throne. i just like high elves. lol

That argument went out the window with void elves.

What? How are they neutral?

Unlike high elves, void elves actually were blood elves.

The void elves mistake was forced on them because the alliance tears didn’t stop for years.

You wanted high elves, you got void elves, same looks, same race, different colored skin. They literally made a whole new race just to stop the rivers of tears.

Please see Dreanei as the few that bored a ship and crashed into Azeroth.

Please see the small population of gnomes that escaped from gnomergan before being fumigated.

Please see darkspear troll on the verge of extinction before joining the Horde.

Please see void elves which is a few “crack squad” that had been altered by an ritual gone arwy

Please see Light Forged as the few that are loving within the vindacaar.

Numbers mean nothing when it comes to playable races.

You just said they are the same with that sentence.

Horde Blood Elves are Alliance High elves with a different name. Thus, you want a playable race that has been in game on Horde side since TBC. The Alliance High Elves are the same RACE, different NAME.

i’ve always supported belfs. i thought they were given to the wrong faction because hard core horde players didnt want no sissy white skinny elves in their chest pounding circle. i’m like
we’ll take them, give them to us!!! thats when they sat up straight and looked over at the belfs and then back at us and said:

no, we love them.

hehehe

Except they aren’t what we want or we wouldn’t still be asking. They are blood elves with a bland and barely thought out story that came out of nowhere.

Comparing them to Pandaren, basic blood elves are like Huojin and void-type blood elves are like Tushui.

True but making a race that is a carbon copy of another is.

keez, lol come on man, we were told flat out why alliance ‘high’ elves were not being added, that they infringed on the story and aesthetics of a core horde race and blurred the distinctions between the factions too much

all 4 of the alliance high elves are off the table because in a faction based game where each faction is comprised of unique races, the horde shouldnt be expected to share one of its core races because of the tantrum of a tiny subset of the playerbase. just as the alliance shouldnt be expected to share any of its core races

They mean something, and at one point a line should be drawn.

High elves too few to become a playable race is where they drew the line.

If it’s up to the players, some might wanna play half ogre half high elf midgets with 3 limbs and 4 mouths. Would that mean blizzard should come up with a race just for them?

The high elves we want have never been blood elves, and have never joined the horde.

It’s a moot point anyway, blood elves are getting blue eyes and blizz isn’t going to magically go “ok, well, auto copy to alliance” just cause they’re obstinate. We’re going to see these threads slow way down as people just stop giving a damn once the expansion launches.

And it isn’t happening, rail against whatever you need to but it’s not like it’s gunna change that now.
